First time visitor here today and my son and I had a blast. Let's start with the best part of Serene -- the staff! There were 3 staff members on duty and all were so kind, helpful, and friendly. We played a round of mini golf, ate a small lunch, and had ice cream for the drive home. The mini golf course is challenging and well-kept for a smaller place. My son and I enjoyed nearly every hole that we played. Our lunch took only a few minutes to cook and we ate at a table under their covered seating area. My picky-eating son ate all of his chicken tenders; my hot dog was perfect; and the crinkle-cut fries were warm and crispy. Finally, our ice cream was extremely tasty. Do not know about the food. We done mini golfing at 9pm when to get ice cream food and they closed at 9pm on Saturday on holiday weekend. No announcement or signs stating what time they are closing and our family did not see any closing signs at 9pm. What kind of hours is that for Saturday. Should be open to at least 10 1030 on Saturday night. Need better lighting on the golf course on some sections. The guy behind the window. Wasn't so friendly. Golf clubs where not wipe down. Serene Custard was a fixture of my childhood. As so many other families from Vineland did, Mom and I always looked forward to hot summer evenings spent playing mini golf and having ice-cream at Verona. Over the years there have been lots of custard stands come and go, but Verona is the only classic that has stuck. (Yeah there's Deeks Deli too, but it just doesn't have the charm (or the mini golf) of Verona.) During most of my childhood, Verona had a really pathetic mini golf course. They renovated it when I was in high school, but gee... that was 15 years ago, so the mini golf is about due for another update. It's okay though... just nothing special. They also installed a veranda so you don't have to bake under the sun when you're trying to lap up your rapidly melting ice-cream. Reservations can be made for birthday parties as well. My favorite is their pineapple ice-cream with rainbow jimmies. They also have seriously decent slushies. Mmm... blue raspberry! As Sarah mentioned they have other snacks as well. I wish I lived closer so I could visit Serene more often. The location is kind of remote from any of the shopping I do. But I still manage to find an excuse to enjoy their delicious frozen treats from time to time. Yay for summer! read more

I don't understand the complaints about cost; their cones are less expensive than most places I've been. I paid $2.75 for a small chocolate/vanilla custard. It was very good. Nice, shaded seating area. Played the mini golf, with my son; we both loved it! We were amazed at how long, and challenging, the holes were. And, only $6 for adults; but they give a dollar back when you return the club and ball. We pay $12/each to play in FL; at inferior courses. It's a little old/worn; but, has nice garden setting, with running water. It's easily among our all-time favorite courses; and we've played dozens! read more

Serene serves up soft and creamy custard and it takes me back to my childhood summers in New Jersey. They have a long list of fresh ice cream flavors and then I always get the simple chocolate and vanilla custard swirl in a cone. You can also get sprinkles on the custard and most of the kids in line had smiles on their faces after eating custard covered in colorful sprinkles. They also serve hot dogs and fries, funnel cake and regular cake. You place your order in the glass window and then the attendant disappears and opens the window again with your order in hand. If you need napkins, ask for them here too because there aren't any outside of the glass windows. There is a very nice pavilion with seating and then the mini golf course is locate behind the buildings. The prices are great (under $3 for a medium come). We stopped out here to grab some ice cream and play some mini golf. Protip: there's one line for both and no signs directing guests. We waited about 30 minutes to get balls and golf clubs. During this time several customers wandered around looking for direction. After the wait we opted out of ice cream later due to the wait and price. I'm sure the ice cream is great everyone seemed very happy with it. We just didn't want to bare the line twice. The course looks to be getting renovated but it was still very fun and a nice mini golf course overall. To the owners. You really need to either rent an ATM or get square. Taking cards it essential and it's very easy to do now. Also, make designated lines and display this information. These changes will only benefit your customers. It's about the customers. read more

This is the ice cream stand my wife grew up dining at. It is always mentioned as we drive to Grammy and Poppy's. It's a normal place to get a cone, milkshake, etc. There is a miniature golf course here. I never played it as it looks cheesy. I do note it is the only public miniature golf in Vineland. There is also the inexplicable railroad car that sits unkept next to the stand. Apparently, the original idea was to use it for birthday parties, but I gather that never took place. Getting rid of it would surely be expensive, but welcomed. It's okay, but no one is going to speak as to how great this joint is. If you are in the area and want a frozen custard, go for it. You'll be disappointed if you travel just for the experience. We indulge the children from time to time here, but usually opt for the goats at Custard Coral in Millville. read more

I've been visiting serene custard since I was a child, this place has delicious custard, water ice and ice creams. They also serve funnel cake, cotton candy, soft pretzels and such. They also have miniature golf. The miniature golf is not the most amazing I've ever seen, however, it is a nice afternoon treat to do ice cream and golf with friends. Joy G. you are confusing two separate Ice cream sands. Verona is on South Delsea Drive in Vineland and is a "ICE CREAM Stand". Serene is a "CUSTARD Stand" on Garden Road in N. Vineland that has the "Au Natural" motif miniature golf course! There IS a difference between a "CUSTARD" stand and a "ICE CREAM stand". Serene's at one time served "CUSTARD" which is partially derived from eggs. That allows Serene to use the CUSTARD name, whereas Verona has never served "CUSTARD"! I could spend all day saying which flavors and combinations of toppings I like but what most don't know is they have some good snack food as well. Try the wings or deep fried shrimp or the churros. And believe it or not I have never played the golf course as I cant seem to get away from the serving counter or eating under the musical veranda. Nice break from a hot day. They never seem to finish any of their projects. I don't even think it is safe to use their mini-golf course. Their ice cream is also overpriced for the area and not worth it for the quality of their ice cream. I stopped there once for a glass of water to take a pill and they charged me a dime for it.
