Dr. Roca-Mendro conducted a thorough examination, great chair side manner, listened to my concerns and addressed them all with empathy and compassion. She put me at ease regarding my possible treatment and took the time to answer questions and explain her reasonings. The office is beautiful and clean. The rooms are peaceful. The issues began before my wife's appointment with Kimmie in the front office. She insisted our insurance wouldn't cover the CBCT scan because "my wife already had one this year." We told her that was my claim, not my wife's. Instead of checking properly, she argued with us for nearly 10 minutes, suggesting the other dentist billed incorrectly or that we just didn't remember. I ended up calling the insurance myself and then doing a three-way call with the insurance agent, who confirmed that the benefits were available for my wife. The agent also made it clear that Kimmie only looked online and did not check the correct channels to get accurate information. When my wife finally saw Dr. Ryan, she wasn't given any options -- just told "here's what needs to be done," shown a cartoon diagram of the procedure, and then redirected to other issues she wasn't even there for. He claimed her gums were "super inflamed" and that she had "tons of plaque," which was confusing because she had been seen by her regular dentist just two weeks prior and received a clean bill of health. To make matters worse, a second periodontist confirmed just days later that her gums were healthy. This makes the service seem sketchy and our right "sellsy". Next issue: getting antibiotics for an implant-tooth infection on a Friday morning. The receptionist (not the doctor) told my wife it "wasn't the implant" and acted like she didn't need antibiotics at all -- again, giving medical advice with no evaluation. This level of care -- or lack thereof -- is unacceptable. I work in the medical field. I know how insurance works. Our office always verifies benefits, but this office seems to place everything on the patient to figure out. When presenting the treatment plan, they openly said they didn't call insurance but "they'll pay something, so you'll just be excited when they do." Meanwhile, they required 35% up front, which could easily be more than what we actually owe -- leaving us to fight for a refund later. That is absolutely not how a practice should operate. We will never return and cannot recommend this office to anyone.

I went in a few weeks ago as a new patient after moving to the area. I scheduled what I thought was a routine cleaning. Instead, I spent OVER TWO HOURS being subjected to what felt like one long sales pitch, only to eventually be asked whether I wanted to have my teeth cleaned that day. Yes- the cleaning I had scheduled the appointment for in the first place. I was told that I had FOUR cavities, despite never having more than one cavity identified at any dental appointment in my life. I was repeatedly pushed toward add-on services, including an oral cancer screening, yet during this supposed screening, the dentist did not even examine under my tongue or palpate the surrounding lymph nodes. I also was not clearly informed that the X-rays they took would not be covered by my insurance until after they had already been performed. Somehow, my supposedly routine, insurance-covered cleaning appointment still left me with a bill of more than $200. But the treatment plan was what really set off alarm bells. The dentist specifically described my alleged cavities as very small, surface-level cavities that she prefers to fill before they become larger. Yet my itemized treatment estimate included pulp caps for all of them, which are medically indicated for protecting the pulp in substantially deeper decay and, conveniently, not covered by my insurance. Even more concerning, one of my supposed cavities was identified between my teeth using AI. When I asked to see it, the dentist was unable to show me the cavity on the X-ray or provide a photograph demonstrating it. At that point, I sought a second opinion. The second dentist told me I have ONE cavity that needs to be filled. NOT FOUR. One. I completely understand that dentists can have different treatment philosophies and that there can be legitimate disagreement about when early decay should be treated versus monitored. What I experienced here went far beyond a difference in philosophy. Between the aggressive treatment recommendations, questionable add-ons, lack of transparency about costs, and the enormous discrepancy between their treatment plan and an independent second opinion, I left feeling that generating revenue was a much higher priority than earning my trust as a patient. Dentistry depends on patients being able to trust that when a provider tells them they need irreversible treatment, they actually need it. Experiences like this are exactly why people become suspicious of the dental industry in the first place. If you are told you suddenly need extensive dental work here, get a second opinion before allowing anyone to touch your teeth. I am extremely glad I did.

He also patiently explains everything he is going to do and he goes over pricing so you can make financially informed decisions. Dr. Rothschild also has surrounded himself with a very kind and compassionate staff. From Kathy at the front desk to every one of his dental hygienists, he has created a culture of care.
