On Easter Sunday around 2:30, I went into this store and I asked for the least expensive firm 2 sided mattress. I was shown one. I did not spend much time examining the mattress because I did not need to. THE MATTRESS I WAS SHOWN IN THE SHOWROOM HAD METAL BORDERS WITH EDGE GUARDS AND A PLUSH COVER. It took me all of 5 seconds to figure this out (I could give a tutorial on what to look for when purchasing a mattress, ie: 2 sided, no foam encasement, less foam the better, etc etc. BTW springs are the last things to wear down. It is the foam that breaks down). At $599+ delivery for the king mattress only, I did not think it was too expensive, but not necessarily cheap either. I asked about bunkie boards next because I am currently using two 3" latex toppers to sleep on directly on a slatted foundation, with no mattress underneath the toppers. It's pretty comfortable, but I thought getting a mattress with springs would help prolong the life of my latex toppers. Anyways, THE MATTRESS THEY DELIVERED TO ME WAS A CHEAPER FOAM ENCASED MATTRESS THAT HAD AN IDENTICAL COVER, BUT WAS NOT THE METAL ROD EDGED MATTRESS I HAD SELECTED IN THE STORE. These scammers had me sign the plastic wrapping that covered the showroom floor mattress only to have taken that plastic off and use if to wrap another cheaper foam encased mattress and deliver it to my home. Bait and Switch. Never did it cross my mind a store would pull something like this. Naively, I used my debit card with pin instead of using a credit card to purchase the mattress. Once I had called out the driver/salesman/the only guy I encountered during this debacle (not this manager who is responding) for bringing me a foam encased mattress and asked for an exchange or refund (to only hear "all sales are final, this is the mattress you chose, the plastic has your signature") he put his hands on me as if he were trying to shoo me away like I were annoying him. I told him firmly if he were to put his hands on me again that I would call the police. That's when he agreed to refund my money and told me to follow him back to the store. Mind you, I helped unload and load the mattress back onto the van. When we got back to the store, he told me someone was coming to open the shop, but surprise he called the cops on me and stated that I pushed him. Of course this is not true and the cops told me my issue is with this store and this was a civil matter. The policeman told me I could take my mattress or leave it since I did pay for it. In the end, I left the mattress there. I think you can see who is using the threats and violence from reading these posts and replies from the manager. These guys will try to belittle you with name calling and insults to try to somehow validate themselves. The insults came during delivery and continue to the replies online. These people have no ethics or integrity. I am up past midnight because I still feel bad about this matter especially after seeing what this manager (who was not present at all) has written in response to my partner Debbie T's post. She was with me when this all occurred.

Home Shows are a great way to see, touch, and test their beds. This was how we were first introduced in 2011. We bought two at that time. This Placentia location is a warehouse and a showroom. You will need to make an appointment with them before dropping by. This particular location only has stair access due to its warehouse function. So be aware this is not at all handicap friendly. But Randy Maddix, the owner, is very hands-on. You will most likely deal with him directly. He had a great answer when I asked about access to the showroom for customers with disabilities. He will personally go out to the customer in the comfort of their home instead. I knew they were special. Our first purchase was two XL twins with remote controlled adjustable frames with a three speed massage feature and timer. They were, and still are, very impressive. But after the first few months, I decided I needed to swap out my first mattress for a different firmness of mattress. They did, no charge. The rep at that time assured us they would have continued to do so until I was happy. Three years later, we purchased a queen for my son. The frames are extremely sturdy and still function perfectly. They, too, are covered under a great warranty. But there is another good reason why my husband and I are repeat customers today. They are not only wonderful to sleep on, they are covered by a lifetime warranty. And for those of us with needs that have changed, or whose families have grown and expanded, this is one of the best investments we could have made. Repeat customers are offered deep discounts. For these reasons, this business has thrived in spite of the Covid pandemic and other serious economic downturns when other bigger, better-known bed makers went under. Martinique is a fairly firm but not the firmest of their mattress line. My adult son's queen (bought in 2014) is the Martinique which he loves because he is a tummy sleeper. Now that he is married, he is ready to buy a king. The twin sized Paradise, the one we purchased in 2011, is slightly softer. We have our twins on adjustable frames, shoved together to emulate a king but still independent of each other. They also do a split-head king. For people who sleep hot, they also have mattresses and pillows for a cooling sleep. You can put any of their mattresses on a regular bed frame, but why? The real treat is having an adjustable frame that is remote-controlled. Ours included a variable massage feature that buzzes you to sleep, but they also have even higher tech frames. Their top-of-the-line frames have Bluetooth and USB charging ports. Yep, you can plug into your bed and charge your phone while messing with mattress positioning to your heart's desire. What better way to drive your partner nuts? Randy had more good news. Taxwise, there are advantages to buying the frame through REM. The adjustable frames are certified as medical devices. Purchasing the brand of frame they offer can be written off on your taxes as a medical device expense. This is truly a quality, family-run business, highly responsive, and run with integrity and pride. They keep their promises. They have been around for a very long time. If you think this is too good to be true... it's not. It's better.
