For most of my life I've suffered from severe sleep apnea and needless to say I don't sleep worth a damn. A good night is 2-3 hours uninterrupted and maybe 5-6 total. My body is always trying to play catch up to dreamland. This has caused a lot of problems in my life. Ever fallen asleep in a board meeting? Pretty embarrassing. How about a Tokyo subway? Talk about lost. Or during your child's band performance. Unforgiveable! This lack of sleep caused me to search out for help. I've done sleep studies. Worn a CPAP (like a jockstrap with a snorkel) machine to help me breathe. And most recently I invested in a quality mattress from Zzzzz Mattress. I waited 6 months to post this review so I could solidly evaluate my new mattress. Zzzzz Mattress was an easy choice as so many of my Yelp friends had given this place a 5*****Star review I thought why bother going elsewhere. Plus its pretty close to home. I walked in and was immediately greeted by Al the stores owner. I thought oh-oh here comes the high pressure sales but I was wrong! He rather introduced himself then asked me a few questions as to the style, firmness, if I was a hot or cold sleeper then proceeded to educate me on the differences in the various mattresses. Who knew there was so much variation. I gave a number of them a try until I settled on a hybrid memory foam deal that sleeps cooler than the others. I damn near fell asleep trying that sucker out. Muy perfecto! The prices here are better than the large chains and the quality is top notch.We wrapped up the deal and in a short manner. Al told me the mattress would be delivered FREE the next day. We shot the shit about a number of things, as you will find Al is a real easy to talk to dude. We shook hands and I was on my way. I left with a smile on my face and a good feeling inside unlike past mattress purchases where I felt taken. My mattress was delivered and set up the next day. My old one was taken away to mattress hell for all the restless nights and aches and pains it caused me. I still suffer from sleep apnea but my nights are so much better on my new bed! Without hesitation I wanted to do business with Albert and his Zzzzz Mattress company. We purchased a Queen sized mattress by the brand "Maxim" that's handcrafted in Commerce, CA. It's such a comfortable mattress I'm almost tempted to fight with my wife so I have to "sleep in the other room". Just like our last experience here it took about 15 minutes to buy the mattress followed by two hours of conversation with Albert :-D He's one of those individuals where after you've just met him he feels like a long time friend. Buying a mattress is up there on my list of things I don't like doing right there with buying a car, a cell phone or anything else with pushy sales people. I found this store on Yelp because I was in need of a new mattress. I needed a decent one, but I couldn't afford to spend a ton of money. I figured with 18 five star reviews this place must be pretty darn good, so I gave them a try. I pulled up to the place and couldn't believe it was even a store. Its in an industrial complex and while they do have a regular sign, it doesn't look like your average outrageous furniture or mattress store. I walked in to meet Albert, the owner sitting back at his desk...he greeted me with a smile and present conversation. From the moment I was there I felt like I was talking to a friend, not a sales person. I explained to him what I was in the market for, what kind of mattress I wanted and what my price range was. Believe it or not instead of trying to convince me to buy the most expensive one I could afford he actually recommended the mid-priced one. Believe it or not, out of the beds I tried the one he suggested was the one I liked the best! He offered me free delivery and since what I ordered was in stock he himself delivered it to my apartment 4 hours later after they closed at 5. While he was at work in the afternoon he took the time to set up the bed frame so when he got to my place to deliver the mattress set it took him all of 10 minutes to get the whole thing set up. I spent at least 20+ hours over Thanksgiving weekend trying to buy a new mattress. I visited over a dozen stores, spent hours online, and scoured newspapers for ads. My journey finally ended with Zzzzz Mattress. Thank goodness! There was a particular mattress that I did have my eye on, but the only store I found it at didn't want to bargain with me. One thing that I learned about the mattress industry is the markup on these things is huge. So I opted to try and find another store that sold the mattress. And my efforts were fruitless. Luckily I happened upon Zzzzz Mattress' web site and emailed them, inquiring about the brand of mattress. Not thinking I would get a reply, I actually got a call 2 days later! The owner, Albert, wasn't familiar with the mattress (because it wasn't a large national company), but said he'd find out about it for me. A half hour later he called me back, said he talked with a dealer for that mattress, and that he'd special order one for me. And it was $200 less than the competition! So I said I'd be in that evening to pay so he could order it. Got it a couple days later, he set it up for me, and I've been sleeping like a baby. Albert has over 35+ years experience in the industry, so he knows his stuff. As a bonus, he is a generally nice guy. We spent about a half hour just talking after I purchased the bed. If you need a bed, then I recommend coming here. You don't get the sleazy sales pitch from a Sit-N-Sleep, and you get quality customer service, along with good prices. After having the same bed for 11 years and Mr. D with so much back pain, we thought it was time to think about buying a new Cali King bed but to tell the truth - there are sooo many stores out there with just as many "stories" to go with them...I mean, come on... I don't want to pay a couple of grand for a bed just to pay off someones commercial they just did only to find out after a week that it really isn't that great and I just spent a bloody fortune on it! So we did like everyone else.....we put it off. We put it off so long that we were both waking up every morning with back pain do to a worn out mattress. Then I saw the commercial on TV that said if your mattress is over 8 years old then it probably weights twice the weight due to dust mites and old sweat.......EEEEWWWWW! I decided - It was time! We went straight to yelp to investigate where we should go and saw that Chad A just bought a bed from Zzzzz Mattress. We talked with him to see how happy he was with the service and the bed itself.....he raved about this place! So last Saturday, Chris and I bit the bullet and headed out to see Albert (the owner). Albert is a very sociable guy who loves talking with his customers. I felt right at home as I slipped off my shoes, flung my purse in his direction (for him to keep an eye on) and started shuffling from bed to bed...trying them all out. I even made Mr. D lay beside me as I proceeded to bounce up and down to check the "non-motion" of the mattress. (Our last one said that it was "do not disturb" but was a HUGE lie - every move woke the other person up at night). We found a bed that felt amazing to both of us right off....the minute we laid down we could feel the back pressure start to melt away....so much so that we had a hard time getting up to finish the purchase...we just didn't want to get up! The bed we picked wasn't the cheapest but it was an incredibly decent price for a California King bed! We purchased a bed liner as well to protect the mattress from sweat or stains which as you know voids the 10 year warranty. Our bed was delivered yesterday by Albert and his nefew....excellent service and the bed is wonderful!!! Mr. D was ready to go to bed at about 7pm last night just so he could try it out. OVER THE TOP SERVICE! I was looking for some quality but inexpensive mattresses for my children's new bedrooms. I found Zzzzz Mattress on Yelp and decided to go even though it was not the closest store. On my way, I stumbled upon another mattress shop in Fullerton.The lady there was not very friendly nor knowledgeable about the mattress she was selling. So, even though the price seemed low, I still decided to pay Albert a visit. When I arrived, a cheery man greeted me and I immediately recognized his voice from the phone. Apparently, Albert was a one man operation. He owned the store, he was the salesman and the delivery guy as well. I asked him for a recommendation and told him what my concerns were, dust mites, quality, price, latex or foam, etc. He recommended one of the least expensive mattresses he carried but one he liked. I went for the next one up because of the extra layer of memory foam. He threw in free delivery. He also carried allergen protector mattress case and pillow cases, which was exactly what I needed. Albert delivered at the time he promised, however, I had a last minute change on the height of the box springs. He said he would special order the low profile box springs for me and delivered them a few days later at no extra charge. Now that is SERVICE OVER AND BEYOND! This man has been in the mattress business since I was born. All he knows is mattress and he knows it like the back of his hand. As a result, there is not one bad mattress in his shop. If you're in the market for a mattress, look no further. After doing my research (thanks Yelp), I decided to go to this store. Boy, was I in for a treat. It was like hitting the jackpot on the penny slots, and I didn't have to deal with greedy relatives looking for handouts later! 1) The owner, Albert, was awesome. Gave me directions to the store when I called. Greeted all the customers that were in his store. When he has free time, he helps customers with whatever comes to mind. He gave advice with the mattresses in his store. He was very friendly and personable. He offered helpful and honest advice about the items he sells. 2) The mattresses in the store are supposedly the best in the industry. What he doesn't have readily available, he could get in 1-3 days, tops, especially if they're in stock, he said. The one I purchased was in stock and was ready to be delivered at my convenience. It's standard to be able to lie on the beds and try them out. 3) The store also sells bedroom furniture. Albert showed me two BIG binders that were the catalogs for the items he can order. His time was mine (I came an hour before they closed), and I found a bedframe for the mattress that goes in my guest bedroom. 4) Delivery was awesome. Since Albert runs the store operation alone (except during deliveries), he delivers them before the store opens or after they close. I was able to work that out with him, and he was able to work with mine. A date and time of delivery was made convenient to both of us. 5) The prices were beyond awesome. He told me, "We don't have Black Friday sales, or Memorial Day sales, or any kind of holiday sales. Everything is always on sale, everyday!" He said that with a smile and chuckle. I like that. I really like that. That concludes my review. If I cannot convince how awesome this place is with my review, then go read another, and another. I doubt you will find one that will disagree with mine. I told him I was pleased with his service, the product and his store. I told him I will go back when it's time for my bed's bedframe, and nightstand and what have you. I went on a Saturday afternoon. The owner was there and he greeted me cordially. I told him what I needed and he pointed me to the twins he had in the shop. I wasn't really interested in bargain basement stuff because my son's last mattress purchased at Costco was pretty bad. I noticed that most of the mattresses had twin prices on the displays, so I asked what else he could get. He showed me a couple more mattresses. He didn't really go into any details about coil count or anything like that. He just let me test the mattresses. I asked about allergies since my son does have them. He said if we want to get something that does not have chemicals we would have to go with a latex mattress. I did not want to spring for a twin mattress that costs about a grand. He recommended a good mattress cover that is made of latex rather than PVC. I ended up ordering a mattress, but I could not use the Yelp check in free delivery because that only applies to premium sets. I had to go back a few days later to pick up the mattress. Fortunately, it fit in my minivan. I think this place is pretty good. The prices seem fair, there is no pressure to buy, and they get the product quickly. Seems like an honest shop. I will try Zzzzz again if I have the need, but I am not convinced that this mattress store is as good as it gets because I did not feel that my smaller purchase was treated like it was as important as the purchase of a premium set. read more

He provided good information and so far the product's holding up. Hard to tell, because my last $1K mattress didn't last long. So far so good. What I do like is that Albert's knowledgable, honest, and hardworking. He schooled me a bit on mattresses and then sold me one at a price that was pretty reasonable. Sooo...I shopped around for a mattress for my 11 year old son. He is very picky and was very adamant about a memory foam mattress. If you have been in the market for one you would know how expensive these things are! I went into a couple of the chain stores and was very discouraged by the prices. We ended up settling on a 12 inch memory foam mattress which was about half the price of a 10 inch foam at Ortho Mattress! It's been a little over a month since we've had the mattress and my son still talks about what a great night sleep he's had on it. My fiance and I came here after we realized our box spring was broken. We went to a couple of mattress shops before coming here, and we were very unimpressed by the quality of box springs that we found at those shops. When we came here, we told Albert our situation, and he said he could get us a box spring the next day for $90. We felt the box spring that we'd be receiving, and we were very impressed by the quality. He said he'd never had one break on him or his customers before. I've been meaning to write a review for Zzzzz Mattress for a while now, but I don't use Yelp as much as I did so it's a little belated. That said, I have now had my queen sized mattress that I bought from Zzzzz for over a year and I still love it. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I went to numerous mattress stores, trying to find the perfect mattress. Albert was never pushy, extremely knowledgeable, and let me lay on various mattresses for hours without complaint. If I remember correctly it was delivered same day, at the end of the day. Which worked out, because I needed something to sleep on that night. At the time of purchase, Albert recommended a waterproof mattress protector. I ended up buying it (inexpensive, the trick with the cup of blue water was impressive), and I am VERY glad I did. My mattress is still in like new condition because of it, even after accidentally spilling an entire cup of soda on it (my bad). Washed the mattress protector per the directions and it's back to looking like new, and my mattress was never affected. THANK YOU!! The pricing was the best I came across, and the quality is there. To make my experience short, or at least shorter, I would confirm all of the positive comments made by others about this store and it's owner. One thing you should understand and that is obvious if you visit the stores website is that they only sell one local brand, Maxim, in the approximately 15 different configurations it comes in. If you're looking for a Simmons, or a Serta or the like, you won't find it here. You will save a substantial amount of money for what seems to me to be a very comparable product. I was prepared to spend in the neighborhood of $2,500 and spent less than half that. I would at least check ZZZZZ out before buying another mattress and see if you're not pleased. read more

My husband and I bought a mattress about 8 months ago from Zzzzz Mattress after reading good reviews here on Yelp. We had looked at several other stores and either didn't like the selection or didn't like the prices. When we first went here, the store was closed, which we weren't happy about. It's a family owned business and Albert was away that weekend. Luckily, it wasn't too far from us so we went back and I'm very happy we did! Albert is a personable guy and was very helpful, and not pushy at all. We told him what we were looking for, and he pointed out his recommendation of which mattresses we should try. After trying about 4 or 5, we chose one. His guys delivered it within a week, on a day we agreed upon and they took away our old mattress and box spring. Now, 8 months later we're still loving our mattress! The only think I would change, is Albert recommended we get a low profile box spring because a full size box spring plus a pillow-top mattress plus the height of the frame makes the bed quite tall. I'm short. We got the standard size box spring and with the bed all put together, it was too tall for me to easily get into bed so we ended up removing the frame, and the box spring sits on the floor. That's our fault for not listening. Eventually we'll probably order a low profile box spring and swap it out. But like I said, the mattress is so comfortable, the price was reasonable and the whole experience was great. If you go here, you will also find out how knowledgeable Albert is about mattresses. I've been trying to allow time for my body to get used to this cheap crappy mattress and my back started to hurt and now it's gotten worse. Coming from a Serta mattress to this is the worst decision I have made for myself and my back. I had no back pain before, now I do. I promised a mattress to each of my grandsons because they are getting so big and having worn down their current ones. After searching through the ads, visiting a couple of stores and research different websites, I searched Yelp a couple of months ago and was impressed by Zzzzz's reviews. When the time came that we could get together and have the boys go along to find a mattress that each liked, we went directly to Zzzzz. We were greeted warmly and invited to check out all the mattresses. Albert gave us lots of details and any options available for each mattress we were interested in. Albert has about 40 to 50 mattresses, from inexpensive to moderately high-end memory, hybrid, coil, pillow top and more which seems to me to enough that pretty much anyone can one would be able to find one they like. After a pleasant and unpressured time in the store where the boys went from bed to bed until they found the one each liked (turned out to be the same mattress - an 11" gel/memory foam for cooler temps), kinda like the one they slept on when they stayed overnight in a hotel a few weeks ago. We paid for everything (on Sunday) and arranged for delivery and haul away (both included). Delivery was Wednesday(one day early) and all went smoothly. The boys were all smiles last night as they prepared for bed. No coaxing needed to get to bed on time! No problem getting up this morning and only positive comments. Give Albert and Zzzzz a try! We purchased a new home back in December and decided to get the whole fam new beds. We already knew where we were going since Albert and Zzzz mattress was so easy to deal with the first time. Sure enough we got the same A+ service we got before. The hubby and I went for a top of the line mattress since our backs are starting to tell us we are getting old. I had to buy a mattress in a hurry after my cat destroyed my old one (turns out he has a bladder disorder, so sick kitty, not bad kitty, he's ok now though). So I went on yelp, originally to look for a large mattress retailer in my area because I'd been to smaller ones before and a lot of them have seemed pretty sketchy. However after seeing all the amazing reviews on this store I decided to give it a try. I had a list of stores I was going to visit and when I went here I stopped my search and bought my mattress. The store is full of wonderful mattresses on the inside and Albert was super helpful. I walked in and told Albert what I was looking for (softer and cooler as I sleep very warm) and he pointed me to the direction of several different mattresses he thought would work well for me and had me try them out. He didn't try to sell me on the most expensive mattress and he even pointed out ones that were similar to the first one I liked that were cheaper so that I wouldn't have to spend a ton of money. He also knew I was looking for one in a hurry and was very upfront on which ones he had available right now and which had to be delivered later because they weren't in stock (this did not correlate to price AT ALL). After customer service, one of the things that struck me was the prices. I've been to larger mattress chains and these very same mattresses were easily double the price at the larger places. They were brand new (not refurbished or used) and the prices were amazing. I'm honestly not sure how he stays in business with these prices unless those other places are honestly gouging us all that bad. I looked around and tried several mattresses and decided on a SpringAir with a latex top that was super comfortable. Albert let me know he wouldn't be able to deliver until Wednesday the next week (this was Thursday July 3rd) as that is when the SpringAir truck was delivering to him next from Fresno. I got the mattress and a nice waterproof mattress pad for about $1000 (just a couple dollars over, I forget the exact amount). This mattress would have been about $2000 at a large chain. That's not the end of the story though. Wednesday rolls around and the truck hadn't delivered in the morning as Albert expected. He kept me up to date on things and called me back when he said he would. He tried to call the manufacturer to get updates from the truck and hadn't heard anything, so we were planning to get it delivered on Thursday instead. At 5:50pm, 10 minutes before Albert closes, he calls me and says the truck just showed up and he was willing to deliver, even though it would mean he had to stay open late. Sure enough about 20 minutes later (I live close to the store) his guys showed up and had my mattress in my apartment and set up in about 5 minutes. Not that Albert has anything to do with the mattress itself, but I've never slept better. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this store. If you're looking for a mattress go here, don't go anywhere else, even if you live far. I had asked Albert how far he will deliver (so I can recommend to friends) and he's delivered into Nevada before, so that's not an issue. Seriously, I've never had a better experience or found better prices anywhere. read more

We purchased a mattress from Albert in 2012 and loved the service, quality, and value! We didn't know what we wanted and he helped us pick out the perfect fit for us. We loved it so much we wanted to purchase the same one again (May 2020). We sent a message through the website and he got right back to us. We didn't remember the name of the mattress but he had our invoice from all those years ago and ordered us what we needed. Everything is as comfortable and quality and value for the price as it has always been! Very highly recommend! Ok, where's the 6 star button. Albert and Zzzzz Mattress are off the charts. Lots of my yelp friends have had a wonderful experience buying their mattress from here, so I've had it bookmarked for that day when I need a new mattress. Let me tell you, after sleeping on my new mattress for the past month, I will never wait so long again for the day to buy a new one. All the sore this and that and tight whatever is gone. What the heck was I waiting so long for? The only problem is that the mattress is so comfortable that if I lay down to watch some TV at night, I fall asleep like an old man within minutes. Heck it even happened during an afternoon football game the other day. From now on, I watch sitting on the couch. Good thing they don't sell those here. Albert used to work for bigger chain mattress stores. He hated the kind of customer service they provided, so he opened his own. He is a people person and you can easily get lost in a conversation with him. That said, he was great about letting us quietly take our time and try out all the mattresses in the showroom. "Take a nap on one, I'm here all afternoon," he said. We had the store to ourselves, so we almost took him up on it. He asked us a few questions about what we were looking for. He gave us his recommendation, but insisted on us trying out others to get a place of reference. He was right, we ended up with the one he recommended. What can I say, the man knows his products, and enjoys talking about them with others. In this day and age that's hard to find. Just go into Best Buy sometime and ask a question. Look how many blue shirts huddling up it takes to give you what usually turns out to be a made up answer. So here's where Albert earned what should be his 6th star. After a free delivery (because my house is close by his store) and setting up our new Cal King mattress, we decided that we needed a new bedroom set. Off to megastore Living Spaces we went. Needless to say, this didn't go well. Even though we bought a Cal King bed frame, it came as an Eastern King, which didn't fit our mattress. I'm not going to go into the details about the Living Spaces screw up, because that's another review. However at one point, when LIving Spaces didn't want to make good on their mistake, I called Albert and explained the problem I was having with them. I wanted to know how much it would be to exchange our mattress to an Eastern King. He jumped through hoops, made calls to his suppliers, and lined everything up for a FREE exchange. I got the impression he was calling in favors here. I'm sure just like his customers like him, so does his supplier. I think by law there has to be a "refurbishing" fee on a returned mattress, so someone was willing to eat that fee. It gave us a great option to solve our Living Spaces problem. It also gave us a lesson in how much you mean to a small business and how little you mean to a big mega store. In the end, I didn't need Albert to do the return and we got lucky that Living Spaces stumbled into a solution between their "steadfast rules" of non return and non caring. Thanks Albert for having such a great store and being such a great person. You have a customer for life in me. Just don't start selling couches, because I need somewhere to watch the football game without snoring the day away. read more
