Walked in and saw a lady at a counter in a room full of used furniture. Looked like somebody lived there. The rude lady charged $50 for 30 minutes! Wow! Took me back into a really creepy room, no music or anything. The cover for the table along with the cover up cloth was cheap and poorly made. Here's the worst part. The lady just rubbed and tickled, not a massage at all. And it times, despite the sign saying "no inappropriate behavior", I was creeped out by how close she was getting to my undercarriage. I came in with a little bit of pain in my lower back and this gentleman who claims that he has worked on famous people and that he's good made me thirty times worse. I am in so much pain I cannot move and I have pain radiating everywhere all the way down my legs up my back and all around my buttocks. I will never go to this place ever again. I was staying at the Marriott Courtyard next to this business with my two daughters. We called to ask about appointments and prices. They got us right in with two excellent masseuses. We were tired and sore from traveling, but they worked out knots and soothed aching muscles. The rooms were a little cool, but the tables were comfortable. Nice music and oil. I called on a Monday after 3pm and they were able to fit me in. My therapist was Roxanna and she was AMAZING. You pay upfront and leave a tip in the room after your session. I recommend this place if your looking for a good quality massage without anyone hassling you to buy their products afterwards. Instead, this is a low-key, relaxing environment. read more

I would not give this establishment any stars. I booked a couples massage for my mom and I online. They told us to arrive at least 15 minutes early. The massage was at 11:00, so we got there at about 10:40 a.m. No one arrived to open until 11:00. We were then told that the online booking does not connect to their system, so they have no way of knowing that you have booked. At any rate we were showed into a massage room where we waited for the massage therapists. About 15 minutes later, the receptionist came back and said that nobody would be in to give us our massages because she could not get in touch with anyone, and nobody was there. On top of that, online bookings cannot get refunded, even if you show up, and your massage therapist doesn't. The owner doesn't even call you back. I will never go there again. read more

I am so incredibly torn on where to even begin. The two massage therapists we had during our Couples Massage were fantastic; professional, intuitive, and truly skilled at their craft. However, this Yelp Review is on the business, Serenity Massage. I don't believe these two professionals have been given all the tools they need to truly be successful or respected. The building, alone, is sketchy. Upon our arrival, it was hard to truly relax and feel comfortable, which are two key ingredients to a great massage. Our massage room was empty, dirty and unsettling, paired with two very thin, extremely uncomfortable beds. My boyfriend's bed never stopped creaking in order for me to fully escape into relaxation. And last but not least, the lady at the desk was entirely rude and unprofessional. I was so close to walking out before we even got started, which is no way you want to walk into a massage. Despite the fact they had availability for a "Walk-In", she still argued me on the fact she did not have a reservation for us. Argued with me, the customer. I manage people's lives for a living; I am 100% certain I called this location, I made a reservation for this service on this date, where I proceeded to enter it into my calendar. And facts aside, it would have been one thing if they were booked, BUT they had the availability to give us a Couple's Massage; WHY ARGUE? I would never go here alone, and in the end, I will never go back, period. I felt just plain dirty even being there... Ugh. read more

I went to Serenity Massage. From the outside, you could see it was in an older building, but I rarely worry about things like that. There was a sign on the door "New Ownership." Too bad the inside was not much better. Although it is in an old 4-unit shopping center, on the inside, Serenity Massage looks like it is an old house someone previously lived in. Everything about the place is cheap. The carpet in the main hallway is old, blue, and stained. The wood paneling is thin and cheap. The doors are hollow core and cheap. In the bathroom (men's), there is a ladder up into the ceiling. The solution seems to have been to just put in a ceiling tile to cover up the hole the ladder once went up into. The carpet in the rooms was super cheap and felt pretty lousy to walk on barefoot. The massage tables are not very nice. I've never had a more uncomfortable head rest apparatus. The draping sheets are thin and of low quality. And the bed you're lying on feels like a cheap foam. If you are a person who cares about setting for a massage, this is not the place for you. If I compared it to a basic Massage Envy, it is significantly less nice and much rougher around the edges. I was willing to give the place a chance, despite the rough edges. There were some positives. First, the staff is incredibly nice. I really liked the receptionist. I really liked the attitude of my masseuse (whose name I do not recall). Second, the best I can tell, this place is not super busy. So if you're really hankering for a massage, I think you would have as good a shot here as anywhere in town of being able to get a last-minute appointment or even pull off a walk in. (They have another sign that says "walk ins welcome). They do one other weird thing. They make you pay before the massage. If you pay by credit card, when you're done they ask if you want to write in a tip. I found that annoying. Just wait until I'm done to charge me. As for the massage itself, I need to give some context. I've had several massages at places ranging from international, exclusive resorts and the Four Seasons to places like Massage Envy. I'm generally there for a clean, good massage without a lot of hassle. So I could probably tolerate most of the rough edges I described above if the massage was great. Heck, I would actually trade a lot of the rough edge problems for the ability to consistently get a good massage on a walk-in basis. Unfortunately, the massage was just okay. The good first: Some massages are terrible because the masseuse is lazy and does not try very hard. That was not the case. My lady was a hard worker. But she was not the most skilled I've ever had. Additionally, she used some sort of lotion instead of a massage oil. So the lotion was constantly drying out or soaking into my skin. On a few occasions, I got a good friction burn. Couple the just-okay skill of the masseuse with the bad lotion and the uncomfortable massage bed and I would rate the experience a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10. The people are really nice. And some of this stuff could be fixed pretty easy. But in this location (Southbound service road by Meadow just next to the Thai restaurant) the place will always seem pretty weather worn without a big internal remodel investment. I'm filing this place away as my "call in a pinch when everyone else is booked" massage place. Otherwise, I would probably spend my money elsewhere. read more

This may not be the most glamorous establishment, but the new owner has certainly spruced it up from the previous owner with all new floors and paint. The reason to come here is because they give a killer deep tissue massage. I have been getting massages for 40 years and all the staff here do an excellent job at seeing to your aches and pains, and providing much needed relief. They are among the best therapists I have found in the Dallas area. I can't stress this enough, it's the quality of the massage I care about, not the decorations on the wall. The front desk personnel are always cheerful and polite and will do their best to get you in, even if you just happen to walk in as many of us do. Don't be afraid to give them a try as I did, you will be glad you did. read more

I haven't written a review in a while, but after living just blocks away from Serenity for nearly 2 years, I decided to try it out tonight after a long day of golfing. I'm glad I did. My therapist Sandra did an absolutely outstanding job working out all the knots from my sore muscles. I had previously thought that this massage place might be a little 'seedy', but I found them to be very professional, everything was clean, prices are on par with many of the bigger chain massage places, but if all the therapists there are as good as mine was, they definitely have something good going on. I've had many massages, but this one was definitely in the top 5! It might not be fancy or a super luxurious facility, but I have a good feeling all of their therapists are just as good as mine, otherwise I don't think I'd see so many cars parked out front consistently. And I think one of the best things about Serenity is the hours! They're open until 10 every night! I was able to call at 7PM and get in with no problems at 8:30PM for a 90 minute massage. I didn't want it to end! I will definitely be back to Serenity soon, and I can forget about going anywhere else. It really was that good! read more
