Found this place through a Groupon booking for a Laser Hair removal treatment bundle and i'm so sad I hadn't found it sooner! I just recently relocated to WA after receiving most of my laser hair removal treatments in Korea, I was in the market to find a new place to finish my treatment and get maintenance done. I've been to one other laser clinic here in WA and after 2 sessions of not seeing much of a difference and spending an arm and leg per session, I finally stumbled upon Dr. O'Connell's clinic. Dr. O'Connell was extremely informative and transparent when going about my treatment with him and was even shocked at the amount of sessions i've had already, and that I even still needed any. So he's definitely not the type of doctor that's in it for the money. Yaoyao was the laser tech that did my session and she was so sweet and communicative with me. Even provided me stress balls before treatment which had never been an option for me anywhere else surprisingly. It helped significantly! She was also very fast and efficient during my session. PLEASE READ - Twelve days ago, I went for a consultation appointment. I have bruxism, and I heard that botox was effective. I ended up getting it that same day. Four days later, the left side of my face was partially paralyzed. I couldn't lift my left lip resulting in a very obvious asymmetrical smile and difficulties speaking and eating. I called the clinic, and they gave me an appointment a few days Later (a week after I was injected). When I got to the clinic, the symptoms had worsened, and my right side was starting to be affected too. The doctor acted as if there wasn't anything wrong. He kept saying: what? I don't see anything. He followed by saying that if there was something wrong "it couldn't be due to the injections as the effects are not shown until 3 weeks after". He even said that he didn't know if my smile was like this before. After showing him a picture of a couple of months ago, he finally said: I've never seen anything like this, think it this way you are special! I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I understand that there are risks involved with these procedures but expect the professional to be understanding and show some level of concern. I went there looking for advice and guidance. This is not only a cosmetic issue as it's impacting my speech, and I'm having difficulties eating. It's also affecting my work as I work face to face. I went to another clinic to get advice, and they explained to me that the doctor likely injected me too high on the muscle and got into a nerve. It typically only happens on one side as professionals do not usually do it wrong on both sides, but apparently, he did. Again, my complaint is not about the result, as I understand the risks... it is about the lack of empathy, professionalism, and acknoledgment. If you are looking into getting any kind of procedure like this, you may want to go to a place where they will care about the patients. Btw - after the follow-up appointment, I sent them an email showing my discontent and concern as the symptoms hadn't improved and they never answered. I waited so long to write this review as I was hoping this business to take care of the mess they made on my face but that never happened. I have finished two of my three sessions, my face burned and there is a scar on my lip and they refused to do the third session nor refunding my money back. Here is the story: I had a laser hair removal session at Serenity Rejuvenation Center on Wednesday, March 21st at 12.15pm and it went awful! By the end, I was literally in tears because my upper lip felt like it was on fire. A technician did my laser, I kept asking for breaks during the session and even had to move my face out of the way so she would STOP. Anyway, my lip instantly scabbed and was burning for 72 hours after the procedure...even while constantly applying aloe vera gel. It's Nov 5th and my cupid bow disappeared as well as my upper lip line has no shape!!! I contacted the clinic, talked to Dr. O'Connell but he was not helpful at all. He emailed me just to cover what his staff did to me but in reality, when I called several times and even showed up, they refused to help. I am now going to a dermatologist to fix the problem. I've gone in for 5 of the 6 laser hair removal treatments. This is important because I feel like most people write a review after their first appointment - but aren't you wondering if the treatment lasts? Is this a PERMANENT solution? The answer is no. Serenity boasts that by doing the treatments 6 weeks apart it will "kill the root" and stop hair growth. Unfortunately this is not true. It DOES slow down hair growth - I could go a few weeks without shaving - but then it slowly and surely comes back full on. So do not go here hoping for permanent hair removal. It's a fallacy. Rest of the details: LOCATION: very small office in Bellevue with about 4 parking spots. Weird waiting room with old white leather couches... COST: I bought a Groupon for the 6 treatments and wouldn't recommend doing it without a deal. My Groupon was $350 per section (6 sessions) and I purchased both legs and brazilian ($700 + tax total). SERVICE: The blonde receptionist, who I've now learned is the assistant manager, is rather rude. I hated dealing with her - she always acts as if you're an inconvenience to her day by walking in the door. I did enjoy Rhiannon - she was careful and thorough and tried to ease pain as much as she could. However I only saw her once and am not sure she still works there. If you cancel an appointment, even the day before as I did, you face a $100 fee. Wow.. don't get sick or have a fender bender on the way! read more

tl:dr: I has 5 laser hair removal sessions and ended up with MORE hair than when I started :-( I went around five times for laser hair removal; I was told that if I came every six weeks, on average people need six visits for permanent hair removal. I was assured by the tech several times that hair removal is permanent, even though I read online that it's never technically permanent and might need some upkeep. I was told the hair that was in the growing stage (around 10% of my hair) would fall out a week after my session, and would not grow back again, and that I would have progressively less hair each time and that any hair that did grow back would be finer and more sparse. 10% of the hair did fall out a week after each session, but in the following 5 weeks before my next session the hair would always completely grow back. There was absolutely no progression. When I brought this up to the tech, she basically implied that it was in my head, that my hair growth was less each time and maybe I was just remembering differently how much hair I had before. But that's not true, I know my body; and yes, there were bald spots after the first week but I would always watch the same hair follicles ignite again after two weeks and grow back just as before. After four sessions with no progress, the doctor told me that some people get paradoxical hair growth from laser treatments, meaning it will stimulate hair growth rather than suppress it. He said it's usually people with fine, light hair and he asked me if my hair is fine and light. It's not. I'm a brunette with dark brown course hair and contrastingly pale skin, supposedly the ideal candidate for laser hair removal. He then told me that it can take up to 9 times for laser hair removal to work...which, fine, but I wish they would have told me what kind of financial investment I was in for at the start because these sessions really add up. Finally, I went to the 5th session, and told them I'm not seeing progress and wondered if maybe I have a different hair growth cycle than others and maybe need to have my sessions closer together or further apart to account for it. I had talked to a different laser studio that told me that the laser only targets hairs that are in a specific part of the growth cycle, and that everyone's cycles are different and that they customize treatments to your personal cycle to assure results. I thought since my hair does initially fall out but around the fifth week it comes back with a vengeance, maybe I needed to have treatments every five weeks instead of every six? I asked this of the tech and she said it doesn't work this way and that I might just need a lot of sessions. Later, I called and left a message asking this question on voicemail and asking for the doctor to call me back; the tech called me back instead and again refused to talk to me about the growth cycle. So I told her I really want to talk to the doctor; she told me he would call me back that afternoon and he never did. So, I skipped my 6th appointment...and my hair has not only grown all the way back, it's actually darker, thicker, and longer than before! My hair was dark brown before and now it's nearly black, super wirey, and longer than it's ever been. I even think new follicles that I never had before have been stimulated and basically my hair is growing like crazy. I have no hormonal issues and otherwise should have been an ideal candidate. I'm upset no one would talk to me about this, or partner with me to get the right results; the wasted a lot of my time and money to end up worse than where I started. read more

I had three sessions of laser hair removal. This is after having the procedure at another clinic so this was session 4-6. It has worked somewhat but the last session was so painful I about came off the table. I asked the gal to turn it down and she argued that the hair was too course and wouldn't work. Interesting because the other five sessions didn't hurt at all and I think I won't need any more treatments. The worst part of being at the clinic was meeting the doctor who was very unprofessional. I was asking for Alle' points and he acted like I was asking for the moon. I get points for everything I get done, including laser hair removal from another clinic so I know this is possible and should not be a huge ask. He first asked me what I was going to use points for (which is none of his business) then made a snide remark in a text "We'll try to get your 15 dollars or so" as if it isn't worth the bother. I don't care how few he thinks those points are, I'm here to tell you those points add up. He stated there are more prudent things he needs to take care of. I have been asking for these points since my first visit which was several months ago. They have had time to fix the problem. The owner was rather nasty to me and treated me like I was a nuisance. My husband had a successful private medical practice for 40 years. We understand first hand how an office works and should operate. Obviously, I won't be back. Update. This was three stars..changed to one after I got another text from the owner. After attempting to explain how Alle works and telling the owner not to bother since he obviously doesn't want to help and I said I wouldn't be back, this is his response: "Great , not even worth a response. I purchased a Groupon for three laser hair removal treatments. I was a bit skeptical at first but after my first session I know it's the real deal. I had the removal done on my face. After the first few days I Noticed the hair was growing back VERY slowly like where I'd normally need to shave daily it would take 3-4 days for the same growth. I've noticed about 60% reduction in the hair itself. I know it was only one treatment but I'm beyond pleased. I'll update after the third treatment. Update: still giving a 5 star rating. I've had three full face treatments I'm up to 7-10 days between feeling the need to shave and really just shaved this week because I was going in for my third treatment and you need to be shaved. I went in for Laser IPL treatment to reduce redness and for evening skin tone/lessening light scares. However, afterwards, my beard started regrowing very patchy, and now has permanent hair removal baldness along my beard... I did not go in for laser hair removal, and was not notified that IPL would remove my facial hair permanently. If I had been disclosed this information, I would not have undergone IPL. I reached out a few weeks after treatment and did not hear back. I still have not heard back almost 2months later and still have permanent hair loss along my face. I thought this was significantly unprofessional and I should have been notified that IPL would ruin my facial hair permanently prior to treatment. I have completed 5 sessions now and I don't think I would even need the standard 9-12 sessions that's usually recommended. I am already seeing 95% improvement. Absoutely horrifying experience with this clinic. I went to this clinic to do the picosure facial therapy and I found out that the doctor missed the few spot. So I requested to do missing part that i wanted to cover on the 2nd visit. For some reason, their attitude was not same as my 1st visit and everyone there was very rude to me. I asked the doctor to do the missing spot but instead he did the same spots that he already cover few days ago when i visited first time. He kept saying the spot that I requsted was not the target and it is alreay covered. I have done many picosure therapy and i do know that it was not covered. After i got 2nd treatment on same spots my skin got burnt badly and it is taking long time to recover. I called the other clinic to find out if that is ok to re-do the same spot treatment within few days they said patients should wait for about 6 weeks to recover to re-do the same spots. I really did not like the service i have in this clinic at all. When I asked for some refund for not being satisfied fully or not receiving the service fully they strongly refused to do so. Terrible place. No consideration for client safety with COVID. They talked me into several expensive services that I didn't need. Oddly, they even said this afterwards. Very high pressure sales. I guess it's partly my fault for succumbing to the pressure, but none of the laser services I got helped. I wasted a ton of money. I was also threatened by the staff. The doctor has an anger problem and that clearly comes from the top down to the staff also being really angry. It's sadly, a very unpleasant place to be.
