The Vibe: Lean Into Your Deepening Before class, Callie…read morewelcomed me in and got me situated. We started talking. Come to find out, we're both from the Chicagoland area. Yoga continues to be such an intimate lil' world. The Guide: Reza Samadhi * Heated OLY Flow We began with the breath: Five-count inhale. Six-count exhale. Reza gave us our point of focus: The breath. We moved slowly. Smoothly. Fluidly. Long poses invited us to deepen the breath. Flying transitions reminded us to keep breathing... until it felt like gliding. Eventually, we came down. In Seated Butterfly, Reza offered one more reminder: "Lean into your deepening." And then... that moment when something understood in the mind is experienced in the body. Lean into what's ready to open. Finally, ripe and ready for Savasana. Music off. Silence. The Tribe Callie's welcome made arriving easy. Two lives from the Midwest somehow meeting inside a yoga studio in Pasadena. The Space & Place One Life Yoga sits above the street. Up the stairs, messages appeared: Increase energy. Improve concentration. At the top, the studio opens into: White walls. Dark wood floors. Exposed ceiling beams. Plants spilling from windows and shelves. Chairs gathered around fresh flowers. And Ganesha waiting just outside the yoga room. Summary We moved. We breathed. We deepened. The Shift "Lean into your deepening." There it was: A teaching moving from thought into experience. ‍ Yoga Field Note: Practice turns knowing into being.

Unfortunately I didn't see colors during my sound bath. I did have memory flashed back of this year in my mind during the session. The instructor was kind and informative. We had a private party booked so I wasn't too worried about leaving my stuff in the locker area. There are no locks in the locker area by the way. I think it may be better to try the sound bath at night or if they lights were turned off. It was pretty bright and when the instructor mentioned the white light, I only see light from the window above me. My coworkers saw colors during the sound bath. Overall, interesting experience to try at least once!

I've been a long time member of Corepower so I've had my fair share of hot yoga, and it makes me appreciate the way that hot 8 operates - they have multiple types of classes - I tried Strength, Yin, Sculpt, and they're all fantastic. The membership feels so worth it because of the variety of classes and the multiple rooms/times available. I will definitely be returning. Shout out to the front desk staff - they helped me solve issues with my booking process (my fault) and were so kind/patient when exposing the different classes to me. Oh and shoutout to Allison Chiang - the Strength instructor. She brought the energy and spent time on form correction. So key! Finally - there's free parking with validation in the building! Makes it so easy to commit to the practice.

There's 3 workout rooms and a variety of classes with so many time slots from AM to PM. Just finished my 3rd class this week and I'm looking forward to the next. It's HOT! Park in P1/2/3 for easier entrance to studio or park on any other floor and take the stairs/ elevator. They validate 2hrs parking. Everybody is so inviting and super helpful. The cold refrigerated towels are the best during or after class. Bring plenty of cold water and your energy.

I signed up for an In-Person Restorative Yoga class through ClassPass and I was delightfully…read moresurprised by this class. This is a yoga class where you mostly focus on "restorative" yoga poses. The class itself is very slow paced and very chill. It didn't feel like a super intense workout that a lot of the hot yoga classes I usually take are like - there were no downward dogs or ab intensive yoga moves / flows. In addition, since this wasn't hot yoga, the room wasn't a sweltering 100+ degrees. The yoga instructor (I think her name was Francine) was very nice and super knowledgeable. She's also really hands-on and will come to help you or adjust your body if it's not quite right (which I really appreciate)! You can hear the sound of traffic since it's next to a large road, so keep that in mind if that bothers you. The studio doors are locked once class starts. You can bring your own yoga mat but they also have mats that you can use there. My class was 5 students total - but the studio can fit around 10-15. They have one gender-neutral bathroom where you can change in. Parking is street parking only, but luckily street parking is free and there is lots of it on the main road or on nearby residential roads.

Called in at 5:25PM to validate open time but no one picked up. Decided to make the trip anyways, but because pulled over earlier for some time and it's rush hour, didn't get there till 5:52 PM. Door was locked, no one in the front, called again and no one picked up. Waited a few minutes at the door and a weird guy passed by calling out to me so I went back to wait in car. Ended up leaving, drove almost 1hr round trip for nothing.
