The prices are outrageous. Give me a break. One small lemon bar for $9 when I can get 4 at Safeway for half the price? One tiny pie ( about the quarter the size of a regular pie ) for $28 ? This kind of price gouging drives the average consumer away, contributes to the economic sentiment that inflation is out of control, and that the economy is horrible. Orders a tiny round for my wife's birthday about a week in advance. $30 for a tiny cake that was seriously nothing to write home about and the frosting and cream was all hard. Like not creamy at all. Soo disappointed. I have bought cookies, pastries, & desserts from Serious Delights Bakery in Natures O for years. Loved it all & looked forward to new seasonal items that were offered. Although recently the prices have gone up so much that I no longer can support them. I used to love to buy individual cookies, chocolate chip, oatmeal, snickerdoodle & ginger at $3. each. I would buy 2 different cookies each time I came in the store. Now you have to buy a package of cookies (same flavor) for $9. No thank you! Also desserts have gone up $2. each. No thank you! My favorite Blueberry Bran muffin is now $4.75 & was $3. No thank you! Serious Delights you've priced yourself out of my range. But Durango has several good bakeries & you can still buy a single cookie for a reasonable price, just not in Natures O. read more

Best bakery in Durango!! My husband and I LOVE their pumpkin muffins and have never had a dessert for them that wasn't fabulous. The key lime pie is to die for and their flourless chiclet cake is one of the best I've ever had. We also love their GF pumpkin cheesecake, a great alternative to pumpkin pie for the holidays if you're GF. Bread and pastries are so delicious! Really well executed bread. Baguettes, sourdoughs, and anything in a loaf form are excellent. Ciabattas, bagels, and everything else seems to fall just a tad short for the price point. But certainly the best baguette outside of Denver! Love, love, love their baguettes. Have I mentioned the baguettes? :) Their pastries are wonderful. I can always count on Serious Delights to satisfy my [posh] sweet tooth. Croissants are near perfect. Check out that lamination! Apricot-Ginger scones are heavenly. However, my go-to treat would have to be the oatmeal cookie, the most underrated of them all. This cookie, let me tell you, is perfection. It's everything you want from an oatmeal cookie. Thick, chewy on the inside, crunchy on the outside, and perfectly sweet. Fruit portion is perfect. If they ever changed anything about this recipe, I'd cry. Serious Delights-- ever consider sharing your recipe?? Honestly, all of their pastries are good. I think I have tried them all. They have a good gluten free pumpkin muffin. For some reason, I do not feel the pumpkin bread is as good. They also offer a savory GF bread loaf, which is good as a side but is too small for sandwiches. read more

This bakery is phenomenal!!! They literally have something for everyone. First of all, the cinnamon rolls are the best that I have ever had and I am a cinnamon roll junkie. The croissants have the perfect combination of flaky and soft and the flavors are also wonderful. They have a lot of gluten free and vegan options for those that have diet restrictions but the flavor of the baked good is not compromised in way, shape or form. Their breads (especially the honey wheat) are perfect. I find that a lot of bakery breads tend to be tough and chewy but their's is the bees knees. Soft and chewy but toasts up really well too. We had the keyline tarts.. tasty, but not fabulous. And, the carrot cake.. moist and quite good. Expensive for what you get.
