The one time you actually changed my oil, you said the rear differential was fine. It wasn't. Had to get fixed elsewhere. Used regular oil instead of synthetic like I always get. Absolutely the worst vehicle experience in 55 years of driving 30-40,000 miles per year. 2020 Ram with 80,000 miles, despite exceeding manufacturer recommended maintenance schedules, head gaskets failed, cylinders scored. Dealership recommended replacing bad engine with new engine because it was covered by a reliable extended warranty. After engine was torn apart warranty company refused to cover engine replacement (over $10,000). Serra gave me one option, pay $10,000 for a new unreliable V6 engine. No breaks from Serra leadership, mechanics or salesman. Who wants to pay $10,000 for a broken truck that originally cost over $50,000? I begged for a break (like one third to half cost or buy back vehicle), no break. Worst customer service after the sale of any business in 55 years (yes, I was a business owner and a war veteran). Serra responded once with "we are sorry for your situation", a worthless response from a bad dealership. If you are thinking about purchasing from Serra, be very careful. Apparently profits are more important than people (most former Marsh employees are working elsewhere). Ask your salesman how long the mechanics have worked for Serra? Ask salesman why Stellantis now offers a five year 100,000 mile warranty instead of 50,000? Good luck. read more

Do not shop Price Point. The inventory is lipstick on a pig. Twice i test drove cars that looked great on the outside. But once I paid 80.00 to have them checked out. I had been looking for a while for a good deal on a Honda Ridgeline. I found a great vehicle online at Serra of Traverse City and then scoped out the sales staff.... I MUST say though, my experience was nothing but positive from start to finish. Matt, the sales consultant I worked with was extremely flexible and willing to help. There was a level of trust that is hard to find elsewhere. If you can work with Matt, I would! The dealership as a whole was very accommodating to my needs and made the trade in process a breeze. We had to get the wheel locks removed to purchase new tires for our car and could not find the lug nut lock key. We called Serra Toyota/Audi/Volkswagen/Nissan and Volvo and Ralph, the assistant service manager, could not have been more helpful. He told us to come right over and he would remove the lugs and said if we wanted to we could purchase plain lugs at the agency and he would have them installed. Ralph sent us over to the Toyota side to get the replacement lug nuts. We told Andy, the parts consultant, our problem, he was so nice, even walking over with me across to the Nissan side to make sure that he would match up the exact lugs that we required considering that although our car is in the same family it is not one that this agency sells. The team got us back on the road very quickly, I wish there was more than a five star rating that I could give to this company and their wonderful staff. read more

This deserves ZERO STARS. I bought a brand new Toyota Tacoma on February 14, 2019. So far my truck has been in the service and repair department four times for the following: 1) Replace roof rack with roof weather stripping per my purchase agreement. I was willing to order the truck without the roof rack, but my salesman Joey Graves insisted that the swap was simple and they could do it "exactly the same way it is done at the Toyota factory." 2) Replace weather stripping that came off because of insultingy poor install. It was taped on. 3) Replace weather stripping, remove adhesive, paint roof of truck, un-install and re-install front and rear windshield, antenna, and backup light because roof weather stripping came off AGAIn due to insultingly poor install. 4) REPLACE FRONT WINDSHIELD because it cracked due to poor installation on the third visit to the service department. Do yourselves a huge favor and never buy a vehicle or have one serviced at this dealership. I am now stuck with a vehicle that has a less than desirable Carfax record considering its age, is worth $1200 less than it would be (Kelly Bluebook value) if it never needed substantial paint and body work done to it. I have requested that this dealership just give me the truck that I am paying for, which is a BRAND NEW TRUCK. Upon my request, Jim Tuohy refused to give me a vehicle that reflects the price I am paying. read more

Really bad customer service! We droped off a car at 945am for a 2 hour appt. They never called us back to let us know it was done, so we went there at 430pm to check what the deal was. They told us they didn't have the part (for a recall) and they also forgot to call us and let us know. This was the second time we tried to get the recall done. The first time their systems went down or something while the car was there and they couldn't work on it. There was a reason we made an appt months in advance; so the part was there and we could plan our day and transportation. 1 star for getting a free oil change for the inconvenience after talking to two people upon making the third appt. read more

Poor customer service, very disappointing. We didn't have this problem when Traverse Motors owned the company. Several times we have had repairs done in the past two years, and the communication with the service department has been extremely poor. We get the service department voice mail over and over each time and often do not receive calls back. One of the times the part had been sitting there for three days after a two week wait for it to supposedly come in, and no one called us or returned calls when we inquired about the part, even though we'd been told we'd be called when it came in. I went in there personally and asked about the part. The woman at the desk called a man in the back and then said, "The part is in and has been in for several days, hasn't someone called you?" I said no, and that no one returned our calls about it either. I was pretty steamed at this point, as there was no apology. However, they did get my car back within 30 minutes and put the part in. It just feels like this place is not very sincere with customers. For another repair, the car was in for almost a day and a half with no one calling to update on how much longer the repair was going to take. When we'd dropped it off in the morning, we were told it would be ready mid-morning the next day. Next morning, almost noon, no call back. Kept getting voicemail. This place needs to keep their customers in the loop, especially when repairs are taking longer than expected. Otherwise the customer is left WONDERING what is going on. There has to be better communication here. You can't do this to people, and it seems like you think you can because you're the only Toyota dealership and Toyota service center in the area, and where else are people going to go? Not nice. Please, fix the customer service and communication issues once and for all. read more

When you buy a new Toyota you get ToyotaCare for "free" for the first 25,000 miles or 2 years, whichever comes first. It covers your basic service, oil change, oil filter change, brake check, tire rotation, etc. When you bring in your vehicle it goes to Serra Toyota's Express Service (think quick lube) department where you may or may NOT actually receive the service covered. I discovered this when I took my SUV in for the 20,000 service and noted that despite documenting the tires were rotated (in two places) and the lug nuts were tightened to exact specifications THEY HADN'T EVEN TOUCHED the lug nuts! They were still covered in salt and dirt and clearly hadn't been touched let alone removed for a tire rotation. When I brought this to the attention of the Service Rep and then the Service Manager I was told they don't actually rotate the tires if the tire tread is wearing equally across all 4 tires... WHAT!?!?! Once I had caught them in the lie they offered to have the tires rotated and gave me a free oil change for next time, but too little too late. You just don't LIE to the customer about the service provided. Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is looking. I no longer trust the integrity of Serra Toyota service. If you take your vehicle here put chalk marks on your tires to make sure they are actually rotating them, ask to see the parts replaced, and hope to goodness the short cuts they take don't result in any safety issues or damage to your vehicle. read more

I purchased a 2018 Volkswagen Atlas and it's been the worst decision I have made. I have had nothing but issues with no assistance from Serra Volkswagen of Traverse City or Corporate. Firstly, I was guaranteed a loaner anytime my car needed service. They did not follow through with that!! "Sorry we don't have a loaner available" is what I'm continuously told. My cars suspension alarm went off while driving down the expressway and the engine shut down and coasted down the highway, my atlas also died in the middle of a busy road with the entire electrical system completely failing(unable to put hazards on), door locks intermittently not working, seat belts issues, airbag issues, etc. Most recently, while driving on an expressway in a rainstorm with my 11-year-old daughter in the car the windshield wipers stopped working! Can you believe Serra Service blamed it on coffee spilling in my cup holder blowing out the electrical panel which of course is not under warranty? Is this the craziest thing you've ever heard?? Who would design a car where spilling coffee in a cup holder would cause these issues? More interestingly, I don't even remember spilling coffee in yes my cup holder! This is so ABSURD. Warning I recommend you do not purchase a Volkswagen from Traverse City! read more

The worst experience ever. I'm not one to bother writing reviews, although I use them often, but feel I need to share my experience here. I have 2014 Nissan Rogue that I bought from an excellent dealer in Grand Rapids, MI. My fiancé and I moved to the Traverse City area 2 and 1/2 years ago. I was told because we bought the extended warranty, should my car have any problems I need to have it serviced as a Nissan certified dealer. Because the Grand Rapids dealer is now 2.5 hours away, I brought my car to Serra in March of this year when it was stalling out on me driving to work. The dealer could not find anything wrong with the car or replicate the issue. I was charged $300. Months go by until it happens again in August. This time on my way to and from work. The dealership has my car for about 6-7 days and still could not find anything wrong. I was charged for a rental car this time for the time my car was in the shop. A THIRD TIME, a month later my vehicle stalls out for good and will not start, blocking traffic on the commute home. I had to get a tow to the dealer. The dealer finally discovers the transmission was out. But they tell me it cannot be serviced for 8-10 WEEKS!!! My fiancé towed my vehicle himself on his flatbed trailer to my original dealer in GR and they had my brand new transmission done in TWO DAYS. What a joke this place is. Not to mention all the money they have nickel and dimed out of me throughout this entire poor process. My car is under WARRANTY and I should not have had to pay for all the fees and NOTHING was done. Customer service seems to be a mysterious concept at Traverse Motors. I began having problems with the car less than a month after I bought it and the service department has been less than helpful and no effort has been made to retain me as a customer. Cost for services are astronomical, i.e. replace alternator cost @ Traverse Motors = $1100, I got it done at a local garage for $540...seriously WTF? Brought my 2017 Tundra to get its 10k service done and a warranty wiper motor replaced on Friday May 4th 2018 and as you will see in the pictures the Technician was so nice to apply oil/grease to my headliner and denting my step rail on the drivers side which I suspect was done when lifting or trying to lift my truck on the hoist. Mind you this truck is like new, only 10k miles in a year and a half and kept pristine. Thanks to Serra Toyota my truck has its new damage and the most disappointing thing about it is that they won't even fix the step as they claim their tech didn't lift it. They did say they will pay to fix the headliner, whatever they can get out of that. So much for having an nice new truck. I'd suggest not taking anything to them or to throughly look over your vehicle first with the advisor and look over with advisor after the service. They will not be touching my vehicle again, I will not buy anything from them nor would I ever recommend this business. read more

This is a review of the Audi new car sales department. I just ordered an Audi A4, and the salesman, Lennie O'Brien, was just great. I did a couple of test drives, and decided I wanted to order a car that wasn't in stock. It's not surprising that it wasn't stocked; I wanted a manual transmission. I did my homework, finding out the Invoice cost for my model. (Using both Consumer Reports and Edmunds.com), and went in prepared to dicker. I had decided that I would offer $1000 over invoice, but was prepared to go higher if necessary. Lennie saw that I had the prices in front of me, and his first offer was $1000 over invoice. He explained that the dealership had to cover its operating costs, and I couldn't argue with that. Consumer reports said that any price less than $1500 over invoice was a "great price" and I got that. The only negative part of my experience is that I'll have to wait for delivery, but that's not the fault of Serra Audi. read more
