We will be taking them to small claims court but, in the meantime we've got to spend another $1300 to get another company to finish the job this company left incomplete. Oftentimes these jobs take more than one day. These guys left job without finishing. Initially, he told he would finish but of course, he never came back. My mother is 81 and she trusted him and paid him. If there one thing I cannot tolerate it's businesses taking advantage of seniors. We will be contacting the BBB AND WE WILL DEF FILE A CLAIM WITH THE COURTS. These guys are unethical liars. Do not hire this company. I asked him to do some unusual stuff...add a step to a front porch that originally had 10" step to the front door. That's way too high for a woman 5'2"! Other contractors told me they weren't sure how to do it. Jesse said, "Sure, no problem" and talked about rebar and other things I knew nothing about...I just wanted it done! We had limited our initial search to companies that had received four our more Yelp stars, but a…read morerelative of Scott and Brandy suggested that we give them a call. Scott came by the next day to take a look and give us a quote. They were one of the only two companies who didn't think we needed to remove and replace the gravel base, which shaved a couple of grand off the estimate. They were also locally based, which was an advantage, as I didn't envision the other bidders wiling to drive all the way from Virginia or Frederick County to do any small remedial patchwork if needed. After writing a check for the deposit, it took a couple of weeks for them to perform the work - rain and a stoppage at the asphalt company were understandably beyond their control. Their crew showed up in the morning, removed and carted away the old cracked asphalt, broke up some the dirt berms that had formed alongside the driveway over the years, filled a couple of small depressions, poured several inches of new asphalt, and hand-crowned the edges to ensure rain runoff, all before the kids came home from school. It's been a year since they did the work (I wanted to give the driveway time to properly cure before writing a review), and despite having three cars using the driveway on a daily basis, there's been no slippage of the pavement nor any depressions on the surface, which makes me wonder whether the other contractors were padding their quotes.

The owner, Michael Criddle was very patient with me and helped me make some really beautiful design decisions. He made suggestions that I would have never thought of, but am so happy he did! Please check references, reviews, MHIC history as well as criminal history. I posted a review on the contractor's FB page and my review got taken down. This contractor did not perform workmanlike work, please see pictures. Contractor damaged our home and did not repair. Contractor also failed to follow the contract, for instance, the installed ridge vent was not installed according to manufacturer specifications, the vent was not cut. Contractor also is demanding payment of late fees and the contract has no language for late fees.
