However 8 months later, as the summer heat and humidity have picked up I've noticed several areas of my floor that squeak and one very noticeable uneven spot. I contacted the company and they told me they stand by their work and that they would send the installer out to check. It took 3 reschedules to actually get him out. When he did come out, he mentioned thermal expansion and the boards needing more nails. As an afterthought he took a quick iPhone video. A few hours later the office staff informed that the owner had reviewed and decided this was structural and the installer was wrong. Without ever setting foot in my home. They said that the installer was not qualified to decide if it was structural or not -- but didn't send out a more qualified person. Wasting both my and their own installers time. After going back and forth with the office staff they refuse to admit or even entertain that they could have made a mistake on the install and also haven't been able to give a clear answer as to why a structural issue wouldn't have been caught during the original installation. This is concerning to me and installing the floor on a bad subfloor would void the manufacturer's warranty. While they've offered to have me speak to the owner directly and have him come out, it seems he's already determined his position on the issue. And look its entirely possible that the issue is structural but that doesn't resolve the open question or explain why they are so defensive. They did say that if I was able to prove its not structural that they would do the repairs, but its frankly unfair for me to have to front the costs for those inspections when they could pull up a few boards and check their own work. I'm really upset with how they've handled this which is a huge bummer because I was recommending them to everyone.

Patience - They answered all questions and explained the process to us. They were in no rush to finish the job. Their concern was doing it well. 3. Professional - This company showed up on time every day. They all appeared to enjoy their job as they smiled, laughed.....and I could hear them downstairs happily singing and enjoying each other's company. The employees were kind and explained every step to us. 4. Timeliness - Never late. In fact, they were always a little early. 5. Affordable - This is NOT a cheap process. Keep in mind that there is a lot of labor involved in refinishing a floor. It takes a hours to complete. And when you have the caliber of employees that they have, you've got to pay them well to keep them. And these guys are worth keeping. So no, it is not a cheap job.
