Chloe did my pedicure. She was amazing, friendly and patient. She alone deserves 5 out of 5 and I would highly recommend! However, for the price of this treatment - I would expect that foot scrubbing was included. Scrubbing the calluses and/or buffing it are basic steps to a pedicure and is just as important because no matter what cream/oil they apply or soak treatment they use, it doesn't remove the dead/dry skin on your heels or whenever the calluses is. Upon seating, they offer you tea, coffee or fresh smoothie. You get to choose 1 of the 2 they had. The view was beautiful. The chair was relaxing but the environment didn't offer a full relaxation mode because a few feet away was the salon area. Someone was getting her hair dyed, so she had a wash and hair blow dry. I got the ULTRA LUXURY PEDICURE for $150 and an add on feature for an extra $35 for the gel removal/application. While I was waiting to check in, I overheard her speaking to a guest on the phone and her tone was so patient and kind as she worked to resolve a guest's concern. And even though I could tell it may have been a difficult conversation, Talya never once lost her cool or her professionalism, expressing kindness and genuine empathy and by the end of it, she made the guest feel heard and understood. I was also impressed with Spa Manager Tiffany, who also oversees the pool experience at Yaamava. This lady is sharp and every bit the professional and she goes out of her way to make sure every guest enjoys the pool experience, which I always do. My Maas really did a good job massaging my neck, back legs and arms. They also offered strawberry banana smoothie made with almond milk. I got a facial here and it was amazing. The customer service was good and the whole experience was relaxing. I did have a problem at the spa, which involved another guest. The locker rooms don't have cameras, and as suck the lockers are secured with a 4 digit code of your choosing. With the clientele at a resort like this being more upscale, I didn't think I needed to hide my pin when locking my locker.... I was very wrong. I had $200 cash stolen out of $480 cash I had in my wallet which was secured in a backpack in my locker. There was a guest lingering in the locker room at the time I set my pin and I didn't think any better. Hopefully the spa gets back to me soon, because I believe this guest has done this before and stolen from other people at this spa. read more

As they say ... a picture speaks a thousand words so I am enclosing a screen shot of a voice mail that the front office at Serrano Spa left to me today . While I was still at the Spa! Yes , leaving me a voice mail 10 minutes before they supposedly close and while another guest was at the front desk checking out . I was in the restroom . I came out and an attendant said "there you are ? we've been looking for you "! The sense of urgency in her voice made me ask myself "is there an emergency "? I didn't ask because she was so frazzled , I just thought ok she's just very rude . Ignore . Then as i'm walking out she says "you do know your way out " in an extremely rude manner. I get to the front desk and the front office is leaving me the attached voice mail. Excuse me ? The front office attendant snaps at me . ask for my license " without it you can't use your voucher "!!!!! I said "pardon me "? I do not have a "voucher " then she snarls and says "oh you're just going to pay for it "? Again I'm thinking are these people ok? Yes , of course i'm going to pay ! I have never been spoken to or treated so badly ever anywhere . They were extremely hostile. I've had service at this Spa many times without incident . I literally felt violated and practically thrown out . I suffered hostility . Im a 59 year old professional Woman. I do not have the appearance nor the history of someone who is going to somehow escape the Spa without paying . I didn't see the attached message until I got to my car. Why would they be calling their guest on their cell phone while they are still in the facility ten minutes prior to closing when there was another guest still there as well? My experience at the Salon is horrible. 1. The lady that handled me told me she cannot accommodate me for a whole 5hrs of balayage. When in fact I had an appointment for balayage. She said she has other clients after me to do as well. So she recommended to do the full color. How can you book a client knowing you don't have the amount of time to accommodate? She explained that a different department does the scheduling and I get that the concierge is the one that handles the booking but the lady that will do the work will obviously be notified of time and service type. If you know you are crunched with time between two clients then might as well tell your co-worker to do adjustments and if not then just don't book the client! (FYI, i am keeping my cool as I was excited to have dinner with friends and co-workers in the afternoon) 2. After she explained she cannot do a balayage. She offered me to do full color instead. So, I agreed (better have something to do than nothing since I am already there right?) I told her "multiple times" my hair is jet black and needs a bleach for the color to stick( I have done multiple times of coloring my hair in the past so I know my hair) I have not even finished my sentence and she kept cutting and explaining stuff to me like I am stupid!, I just wanted her to bleach my hair prior to coloring , PERIOD, but she kept yapping about how it will damage my hair. Like, I don't already know that? I told her I did colors in the past. I am not sure which part of "please bleach my hair because its jet black and color/s will not stick in my" is hard to understand? 3. I thought she did bleach my hair but no, she went on and put that color to my hair and kept telling me it will come out nicely. I had told her one more time it will not. But she did not listened. So it came out like i had expected. Top part was the only one that had the color as you can see in the picture. So i asked to speak with her supervisor/manager. 4. She went to get her supervisor that took awhile. I don't want to assume, but it looks like she already had explained herself prior to talking to me. So the supervisor went and spoke to me with alongside her and I had told her what happened but the way the supervisor handled the situation, showed like it was my fault, when in fact I had told her she HAS to bleach my hair. So, the lady again said she does not have any time to redo my hair. I told both of them, i wont go out looking like this. Like come on! Look at my hair. ‍ The supervisor was also hesitant to have my hair redone. So the lady did redo my hair but told me " I had to cancel my next appointment because i have to redo your hair" Like, should I be grateful that you cancelled your next appointment because you did a poor job listening and working on my hair? I kept quiet and my kept cool because this day , i worked 12hrs, no sleep, tired, no lunch, I was sitting there for already 6hrs and just wanted to eat dinner and hang out with my friends. Off note, she said she cannot do the balayage that is estimated 5hrs. At this time after I spoke with the supervisor its already at 5hr mark. ‍ She did bleached my hair and recolored it. Came out just as should have been. My point is, you need to listen to your clientele. Listening is part of a good communication. Your client knows their body more than you so it is important to LISTEN. Also, you kept telling your clientele you cannot accommodate her because you don't have the time. That is just a lame excuse. Thats why appointments are made to prevent overlapping of schedule isn't it?. Even if the concierge or a different department handles your scheduling, I DOUBT you won't be aware of what time your next client will come. You as a the service provider should have vocalized to your scheduling department that 5hrs is not enough and it would not have ended up like this. I could have gone to a different salon but since we have a credit we can use here, I chose to have my hair done in here since the experience I had at the facial and massage department was great. I do not recommend their Salon department and won't be coming back for hair treatment! Service sucks! read more

I truly felt discriminated against because of my ethnic background even though I spend hundreds of thousands of dollars here gambling as a diamond member. Facials here have always been very relaxing, but the last it was very harsh. The technician was a hispanic female, forgot her name. I didn't have pimples or anything to extract, but she pushed the extracting too really hard on my face, as if she was taking out her anger on me. There were bumps on my face afterward and my dace looked red/agitated. She turned something that's supposed to relaxing into an aggressive experience, which is the complete opposite of what any customer would want. What a waste of money. The last three facials I had here were exceptional...it just so happens that they were caucasian females all those three times and they were extra gentle. My face was glowy those 3 times and I got many compliments. Not this time though. They're kinda shady here in that that don't disclose to you that tip is already included with the bill. Never coming back to this place unless I get one of the other aestheticians from way before; definitely not risking getting the same hispanic female from last time. Honestly, we had such a great experience for two! The Spa was super clean and spotless. The staff was very tentative and friendly. We booked our appointments on a Friday Morning and had the majority of the wet areas to ourselves. The locker rooms were well kept and the free amenities is within arm reach. I got the Nourishing Elements Pedicure service with a specialist that was fantastic. Constance is amazing, she made sure I was comfortable and offered recommendations and was an overall vibe. The price of the pedicure and manicure was justified when you could use the spa amenities. Since they have pulled that feature, it's a huge waste of money. Not to mention the cashier at the front desk spa check-in has to be the rudest person I've EVER encountered in the 2yrs+ plus I've being staying at the hotel and coming to the spa. I'm flabbergasted someone so rude and condescending is allowed to work there. I got there late the traffic getting in made me run late only 1 way in and 1 way out didn't get to enjoy my full hour due to the horrible traffic situation. I also want to say how amazing Ben was talk about great customer service he offered me a foot soak, 2 smoothies, water etc no one else told me about those amenities but Ben. Haven't been in a year. Technician is great....Went in for a pedicure, no longer allowed in sauna area with that service, bummer. Was told it's because people take everything and apparently they're trying to cut costs, other than razors I'm dumbfounded on what possibly . Would have been nice to know beforehand.. Second issue when checking out, I didn't have glasses and made the announcement " I can't see" and was just told here if you want to leave gratuity, I added $20 on a $90 pedi. Come home and see 20% service charge. I called and asked who the first 20% goes to and apparently 18% to tech and 2% to helping staff. With no spa service included, who is getting tipped for helping me, that's not helping me, literally nobody did anything, water, tea, nothing..lol I guess it was the woman attendant that saw me touch a pear and not take it, ( my bad wasn't thinking ) come barreling in behind me and spike it in the trash, making my mistake obvious to the entire spa...Very disappointing .. From the minute you walk in, you will get the "luxury pampering" vibe. Place smells so good and relaxing, everyone is professional and friendly, and it's extremely clean. Alisa was the one who gave me the tour... I came in for the "Turquoise Ocean Body Ritual". Anna is amazing! She knows what she's doing, and I will recommend her to everyone who likes medium to deep massage... First they scrub and exfoliate neck to toe... Then, a full body massage... To be clear: the GOOD: 1) the spa technicians are fantastic at what they do. 2) the spa is extremely clean. The (not so) BAD: no jacuzzi inside the spa - had to go out to the pool area for that. The UGLY (terrible): a new & recent changed policy of DENYING facility access to certain spa treatments (hair & nails) WITHOUT prior notification when making appointment nor at reminder nor any sign within the facility was a terrible decision. I had a hair and color touch up appointment this past Friday Oct 6th. As usual, I came 1hour before the appt to check in and to use the steam room for some relaxation before my treatment. BAM! surprise, "we had a new policy that you don't have access to the facility". Was there any notification? NO. Was there any sign within the facility of such change? NO. I pointed out this no-forewarning notice and I already had my short with me to please make an exception. NO. I had to leave with disappointment and was very upset. Upset enough to just went back to my suite and tried to relax there (yes, I'm also a guess in a suite). During my hair service, Rose - the manager - did come by and offered me the "exception" to the policy and allow me to use the facility after my service. "Thanks Rose but No Thanks" as I gracefully declined. The mood has gone sour and why mess up a great hair service! I'll enjoy my youthful look instead. Might skip the spa experience altogether and go back to my barber - he also has a clean salon and only charges me 1/4 the price!!! read more
