Stopped in on a early Thursday. Plenty of parking but the road construction made it a little hard to see the entrance to the lot. Looks like everything was remodeled, looks nice and very clean. Not a fan of "all gender" restrooms but they were clean. Bartender was really nice and attentive. Two pool tables, no gaming yet but is supposed to be up and running in three weeks. I had a great time at this establishment! I went when they were having DJ Bingo, and man that was so much fun. I won a tee shirt! Great food options, you are able to make any kind of sandwich you would like. Bartenders are awesome and the owner is also present throughout which I think is a plus. If you are near Antioch I highly recommend. read more

Nutties "is what it is," ugh I hate that saying. Nutties is a dive that keeps things just classy enough. The beer selection is always changing and there are always great deals on the basics. The outdoor area is really great in the summer to get away from the mosquitos and the volleyball courts are really well done! This bar has a good layout with great friendly bartenders. John the owner is great conversation, he has an opinion on anything, just ask! Go here to meet new people and have a Hamms tall boy! read more

Nutties is changing...and I'm not convinced it's for the better. I've been coming to this bar for 8 years and I've always loved it. It was an unassuming local bar with familiar faces, friendly bartenders, delicious popcorn, and cheap drinks. Recently, all of the taps have been switched to micro-brews, which is a decision I actually do support. Try the "root beer" beer or apple cider beer. Dangerously good! They are currently remodeling and I've heard from the staff and the owner, John, that they're working towards a classier image to complete with local bars like Blackthorn and Chill. Personally, I (and most of those who frequent Nutties) am not interested in another Blackthorn or Chill. I love the laid-back casual atmosphere of Nutties as it was. I wonder if these changes will alienate the regulars. Only time will tell. In all seriousness, though: John, you've got to bring the popcorn back. Getting rid of the popcorn machine was an EPIC FAIL. Classy bars can still have popcorn, right? read more

Great "dive" bar. Been going here for years and will continue to do so. John the owner is a really nice guy. Free popcorn and a decent TV set up. Cheap drinks. Lots of regulars. Always have a funny story after late night weekends here. If youre expecting some fruffy, upscale, white collar pinkies up martini bar this place aint for you. This is a blue collar, like to watch hockey fights, beer and a shot type of place. Think Cheers but with more colorful characters. read more

Great craft beer selection and food if your hungry. Volleyball leagues in the summer with great company! We go at least once a month to see our favorite bartenders and have a drink! read more

The service there was completely horrible.i felt like i walked into a very lower class bar. i heard nothing but good about the bar...but the experience i had there was by far the worst bar experience ever. i only recommend the place if your looking to get into a silly fight and have really lousy service. read more

I had an interesting discussion about the virtues of socialism with the ironically Greek owner. The discussion was not initiated by me, but I couldn't help but respond to someone who thinks that people who work for a living don't pay enough taxes in Illinois. Besides the awkward conversation, we had one good beer, and one that came from a tap that needed some serious cleaning. John only had frozen pizza available that night, so we passed in food. We were the only ones there at first. A few regulars trickled in as we left. Not sure if we hit it in an off night or if the owner was just in a mood. I might try it again some night if I'm solo and looking to debate politics or religion in a bar (in other words, probably never). read more

LOL wow, I went in their for a drink with friend...the last time I was there J-Ball and Phil were so drunk they puked on the fence and I was single and had no children....I have been married for almost 8 years and my oldest child is 6....guess what though....felt like I literally just went back 8 years in my life...saw a bunch of old friends and the place hasnt changed it was great too catch up with people, and cheap drinks! Tucked away in an easy-to-miss corner of Lake Villa, Nutties is one of the best bars Lake County has to offer. I should start out by acknowledging that I'm not much of a bar person. However, Nutties provides the warm, friendly atmosphere that I have had trouble finding at bars in the past and is now one of the few bars I actually enjoy going to. No over-priced drinks, no obnoxious music (although there is a TouchTunes machine if that's your thing). Just an eclectic mix of great people and a very pleasant environment. They have a great selection of craft beers and both John and Anna make a great Moscow Mule. Also, they have great specials on a very frequent basis. So if you are looking for a great time without breaking the bank, this may be the place for you. read more

I was here on the two nights that the disgruntled visitors to Nutties spilled their beer after being repeatedly asked NOT to put their drinks ON the table and spilled it, causing hundreds of dollars in damages to the pool table to be refelted and cleaned. Also, on their second visit, they came into the bar late and already drunk and rowdy and at 1:30 am when last call happened John the owner let the kids know not to put anymore money in the juke box because it gets shut off at 2 am. 2 am rolls around and the poster of the previous review starts getting extremely aggressive and belligerent towards John, who was remaining calm and reexplaining that the bar was now closed, to which the kid got in his face and started yelling while his friends had to drag him out of the bar. It is very sad that there is a group of people who think it is appropriate or decent to post lies and poor reviews of a good bar that provides a drama free environment for people to relax and have a good drink...come in for yourself and experience the atmosphere and the wonderful time! read more

i highly recommend this place the fact i can go some where close to me and play pool have a nice conversation with the owner is my kind of place. Even though i have a pool table at my house id rather go to nutties play on their table which is in better condition then mine where they even have a stick thats perfect for my height being 410 thats hard to find the sticks are always bigger then me haha. i highly recommend this place great owner, great enviroment. i brought my friend whose never been there and he loved it as well. they got great specials and amazing rootbeer beer. this is my place to bring my friends to go somewhere close and play some pool and drink some beers. couldnt pass up those specials or the rootbeer-beer coney island draft which was my first rootbeer beer that i honestly really liked it was amazing go to nutties if you want to have a chill time drink some beers and play some pool or darts. they have a jukebox and some yummy popcorn enjoy it read more
