I reached out to David Hirschfeld on June 18th on unresolved issues with an Lennox A/C purchased and installed by Comfort Masters Service Experts. He said he would personally come out with a service technician to address problem and someone from office would call to schedule appointment. I did not receive a phone call. I followed up with BJ Canning at the beginning of the next week. He also assured me that he would personally accompany a service technician to my house to diagnosis issues. He set an appointment for Thursday, June 27th at 4pm. It was a NO SHOW (or call) for BJ or Technician. Once again, I called and spoke with BJ Canning, General Manager, and I was scheduled for an appoint on Wednesday, July 3rd. Another NO SHOW. NO SHOW for service is how they set their bar for standard of excellence. They take your calls and continue to show blatant disrespect but continually making appoints and not sending technicians. I am tied into service because I purchase A/C through them so would not recommend this company to anyone considering a new A/C system. read more

Woke up on a Friday morning with no heat. Called Comfort Masters first thing in the morning. They got someone out right away and had us up and running before the end of the day. When we had question about our new thermostat, they sent someone over to help us learn how to use it. They also emailed us a rebate and happily took all my phone calls on how to get the rebate to work. We are very pleased with their work and the extra effort they put in to get us up and working. Dishonest, not professional at all and only seemed to have slightly followed through with minor repairs from install techs because I still needed my a/c vacuumed and started up. I can't believe they are partnered with Costco, I will most definitely let Costco know my review since I wasn't Able or sent a survey review for their install and overall work. Brand new install both heat and a/c $$$ I'm at Costco all the time I gave them a shot because the reps at Costco are great guys but techs and managers suck. We had a problem with our air conditioning today-it just stopped working. We called Craig from Golden Seal and he had a tech at our house within hours. Dion, the tech that came out was Excellent! He immediately put on shoe covers before walking on my carpet (which I totally appreciate). He checked the unit inside and out, and expertly came up with a fix to get us up and running again. He thoroughly explained the problem, and our options and then patiently answered all of our many questions. Golden Seal will definitely be my go to for any future problems thanks to Dion's excellent customer service! When I need a new unit they will be getting my business! read more

Definitely recommend them! Original installation, in 2014 was awesome. Couple years down the line...we had issues with their customer service. I wrote an appropriate review and immediately, the GM, Dave called me. Besides offering a sincere apology, he got directly involved with our case; assigned a couple of his resources to fix our issue. It took the technicians couple more visits to replace a faulty part, but they got it done. Dave followed up a couple times over the next few weeks to make sure the systems were working without issues and as expected! Since then, we've not had any issues. It is a company that wants to do the right thing. Their technicians are very capable. I'll definitely go with them again! read more

I had Comfort Masters come out for a standard AC cleaning/maintenance check in April 2018. During the cleaning, the technician mentioned that the AC disconnect, which is only handled by the technician, broke and had to be replaced. I asked that they replace it, but he quoted me a price of $250. I obviously didn't pay this amount and called the Comfort Masters supervisor, who came out to my place the following week and instead quoted me a price of $150 to fix it. I reluctantly said how about $100 and he packed up his equipment, and I haven't heard back from him or Comfort Masters since. I even contacted CustomerService@serviceexperts.com and I still haven't heard back from them. Terrible and costly experience. read more

Hi folks, I used them to service my furnace at therental property and I was very disspapointed! I have a furnace which is about 2-3 years old and it is still under warranty. The furnace stopped working and I called them up to get an estimate. They showed up an hour later but they did call that they were running late. They diagnosed it as a bad blower motor and notified me over the phone. The tech told me that it will take $700+ to change the blower motor and he has a replacement motor and motor mounts with him in stock. It sounded expensive and I told him that this unit might be under warranty. I told him that I need to look up if this unit is under warranty and he told me that he didn't have time for this and it was not fair to him that he had to wait there for me while I lookup the warranty stuff. I was fumed by his comment and told him that all I need is 10 mins to look this stuff up. This is the least he can do while he charged me $89 for diagnostics. I told him that $700 is a lot of money for this small furnace but he insisted that it will cost me that much. While I was looking up the info, he called me few mins later that my furance was under warranty and it will cost me $300+ to get it replaced under warranty. I endedup going the warranty route. Bottom line,these guys are crooks and tried to charge me $700+ and selling me a new motor instead of looking to see if my motor was currently under warranty which ended up costing me $300+ I will stay away from them. read more

We went through Costco for our new system and we are very happy with the outcome. From the sales guy (Ross) to the installers (Mike S and Adam) very professional - (will request Adam to come and charge our new air conditioner in the spring). they took care of our stuff and worked until the job was finished. We have a sense of peace with our new furnace, whole house humidifier and air purifier. No wonder Costco chose them! read more

The sad saga continues. I started my A/C and it ran, but it got HOTTER inside than outside despite it running. The condenser outside blows out cold air instead of taking the heat out of my house. That is not right and I am not a HVAC tech! I called and Service Master has no record of me or the 15k I spend with them. Finally I had a manager come out to say i was a pound and a half short of coolant! it's a new unit and has a leak, or, they didnt do it right from the beginning. A leak on a new unit? I cant help but think I got a refurbished unit they called new. I get a lemon unit. Now, the manager i was working with and felt like i was making progress is no longer with the company 3 days after he said he'd take care of everything! So i get to start over. I tried the GM and am waiting on word from him but not counting on it. I had my HVAC buddy over and he confirmed the unit should not have a leak and it's the wrong size (too small) for my house. So i got sold a small unit which has little hope of cooling my house. On top of it all every time I call them they have no record of me. I have a 10 year service contract with them and they have no record of it (since i paid already, it disappears!). I concede. I admit I made a big mistake but can't give up. I know the GM won't call back. I know what he promised me before is false. I will get the same story if we do talk again. Therefore i have no choice but to contact Costco. That is where it all started. Costco is my next stop. They need to know what type of companies they let peddle under their roof and maybe, just maybe i won't lose the $15k but I have a bad feeling I am going to have to pay another 5k to have someone put in a unit that works. fwiw.... read more

Terribly disappointed that I have not received the $900 in rebates promised to me for our10/25/17 furnace and air conditioner installation despite repeated phone calls to requesting the rebates. I have not even received promised return phone calls. I've called almost weekly since 1/4/2018 but I still have not received the rebates. Be wary of any promised rebate. read more

Scheduling was fast and within my time frame. Roy is the best technician I have ever had. If you want the job done right the first time with no high-pressure sales pitch, ask for Roy. He explains what you need or might want to consider without pushing the panic button like some technicians in the past. He is also very polite & professional, but friendly. read more

My wife and I had a terrible experience with these people. We live in a condo unit and we learned that we need to replace the condenser unit and coil altogether so wanted to at least get it looked at and get an estimate / quote. My wife initially scheduled for an appointment for anytime in between 5-8PM arrival. My wife calls during the day once more to make sure someone was coming out to consult with us, and they tried get her to 'cancel' her appointment because it seemed like their technicians were running behind schedule, but at the end of the day, they said someone will come visit during the agreed timeslot. I leave work early to make sure I am there, and NO ONE shows. NO HEADS UP CALL, NO ADVANCE NOTICE, NO UPDATES, NOTHING. If they want business, they should earn it. I will never, ever consider them and recommend against them for anybody I know that might be in the same needs. read more

Juan, Jim, John and Ahmed spent the day installing two new ACs and one new furnace. They did a great job and left the place like they were never here. Horrible service, I would give zero star if i can. I found them through Costco. They broken our AC while changing the furnace in winter. We figured out this later because we turned down their AC offer. We don't know this because until next summer because who use the AC in chicago winter. I called their customer service about this. They denied this and yelled at me : your furnace was out of warranty. They can't do anything. For gold sake, I just changed the furnace with them 3 month ago. And moreover, they intentionally left one water valve open. The water kept running until the city told us our water bill was 300 dollar for one month. What kind of company is this? No ethics and treat their customer with no respect. I will call Costco to inform them on this as well. read more

Ugh. Don't waste your time. No one showed up for a scheduled appointment and when I phoned to check, I was told that appointment times are general and their estimators show up when they can. Not a promising sign for a business who pure putting in charge of heating and cooling your home. Furnace shopping with Costco and Comfort Masters Service Experts was a breeze. Stopped at the Costco furnace kiosk where Ron set up an appointment for me. 2 days later, Ross Wolf came to the house and explained all the furnace options and discounts available, helping me choose the best option for my home. Installation day came and the installers were right on time. They were very aware of keeping the premises clean, wore booties and laid down runners to protect the flooring. John Rybicki and Jim Horvath are a great team, good humored, very knowledgeable and exceptional problem solvers...along with being dog friendly. They explained all the features of the furnace, humidifier and thermostat, and provided follow up dates for maintenance and servicing. I swear they left the furnace room cleaner than before. I plan on using Comfort Masters for future furnace servicing. Quick tip, I do recommend verifying your installation date if taking time off from work is an issue. There was a communication blip, but definitely not a deal breaker. read more

I've had a preventive maintenance contract with Comfort Masters for 7 years, with two annual visits for HVAC and heating. I've never had the same technician twice, but they have all been excellent -- knowledgeable, courteous, and conscientious about explaining things. They are also very neat -- wear protective booties over their shoes, clean up after their work is completed. Two years ago, when there had been alot of snow and the temps were way down, my furnace wouldn't kick on. Comfort Masters came at 10:30 p.m. (after giving me hourly updates because there were so many "furnace out" calls that night) and the tech still had two more calls to make after me! Still, he was very courteous, made sure he checked everything out, and gave me a temporary fix to tide us over until a permanent fix could be made. Of course Comfort Masters is a large company with regional offices, but the technicians who come out of their Wheeling, Illinois office are great! read more

We had them out to troubleshoot our air conditioning unit that was leaking. We paid one service fee, after the technician explained what was going on with it. We decided to wait before moving forward, which he respected. The following day, another Golden Seal technician, Cesar, came back out, cleaned the outside unit and put in 2 lbs of freon free of charge. Wow!! Customer for life. :)) read more

Equipment is expensive. Installation was very good. The installers could have cleaned up better after installation, but no big deal. The Service Consultant, Sam, is okay. In July, 2015 I put out a request for bids for the replacement of my 30 year old furnace. I was focused on Lennox products. I received a quote from Jeff Melton at Service Experts in STC. They offered the most thorough proposal of the seven proposals I received. They were not the cheapest, but Jeff walked me through every detail of what they would do and even had photos of a similar installation so I could get an idea of what the finished product would look like. The day of installation they came on time, completed the replacement in a reasonable amount of time and cleaned up completely after they were done. We did encounter an issue with getting the proper thermostat, but in the end that too was resolved to my complete satisfaction. I'd recommend this company and Jeff Melton to any of my friends. I am rating it a 4 star only because it's September. Next April, if all goes well (and I think it will) I'll raise my rating to a "5". System worked flawlessly. Definitely recommend Jeff and golden seal. read more
