I usually don't comment with competitor options, but, if you want the best Boudin in the state of Louisiana, it's not too far from this place T-Rey's is so much better. I would hope this place would start looking at their products and putting a little bit more care into it.

As a child growing up in New Orleans I remember by grandfather from New Iberia coming to visit frequently. I have a lot of fond memories from his visits, but one of the things I remember is applicable to this review. Whenever he would arrive he would have several gifts for the family. I'm not talking about traditional gifts either. He would bring several packs of boudin and hogs head cheese from a local New Iberia shop. That must have had a lasting effect, because since then, I am on a never ending quest for good boudin and head cheese. I was on such a quest just the other day when I noticed Boudreaux's. The moment I walked in, I knew I was in the right place. There were coolers filled with stuffed chickens, roasts, pork loins, gumbo, étouffée and all other sorts of Cajun delights. In the fresh counter is where I focused my attention and will elaborate on a few items. Boudin - fresh, homemade and with the perfect combination of meat and rice. It had a slight kick, but not to overwhelming. Stuffed chicken thighs - stuffed with jalapeño cream cheese and wrapped in bacon. $375 for around 30 minutes covered and 20 uncovered. Oh my goodness gracious was this delicious. Even if you don't normally like thighs, I strongly recommend this item. Smoked boudin - I don't remember smoked boudin when I was growing up, but what a great idea. Boudreaux's version was perfect. Smoked sausage with pepper jack cheese - whatever you do, but some of this sausage. The sausage is made and smoked in house and this is, without a doubt, the best smoked sausage I've ever had. I don't know how it hod hold up in gumbo or some other dish, but it is amazing on its own. The people working behind the counter were friendly and very helpful. If you're like me and miss the Cajun butcher shops of Acadiana, I recommend you take a trip to Boudreaux's.

I was glad I found this spot on yelp, and I was more than happy to try it out. They have plenty of food to choose from, and it is kinda hard if you don't really know what to get. So I played it save with the smoked chicken thighs, and tried out the boudin sandwich. The chicken seemed thigh was so cheap I didn't believe it, for a pice that by itself filled me up. The Boudin sandwich was a good meal also by itself, you got to eat it fast though. I took my time, and it became a bit too soggy. I loved the experience though. The store looks like a big meat market, not too fancy, but this is a place to get your meat, and not for a romantic date. Maybe you do, when you're from Louisiana. j/k

Technically, the pork cracklins are the traditional ones but I prefer the chicken and these did not disappoint. Don't get me wrong, the pork are also great but if I was pressed, I definitely would go with the chicken. If you cant find something here that you like, I don't know what to tell you. I had just eaten and I still wanted to grab some food here!! Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

I didn't say anything. Then we ordered an appetizer as well as two entrees. She forgot the appetizer completely. My gyro plate was cold and my fiancé's shrimp Alfredo had four (4) shrimp total and not much pasta. She only brought out two (2) pieces of pita bread, which we finished quickly. She never checked on us after bringing the food out, and we sat there for about 10-15 minutes wanting more pita bread. By the time she came back, we asked for a box and the check. We really wanted to try a dessert but figured it wasn't worth the trouble at that point. I ended up bringing the check to the register myself because she had sat at a table on the other side of the restaurant, talking to two people. She didn't say anything as we paid and left.

The service was very good but unfortunately the food was super bland. The dressing on the salad was not the same as the original and tasted like they may have used old pre/peeled garlic. The pasta that's usually is super flavorful was also super bland. The chicken was dry and zero seasoning. Gyros was okay but it's hard to mess that up. If you are expecting same good Albashas as Baton Rouge you will be disappointed. I only have 3 stars for the service and ambiance.

This upscale Steakhouse is family friendly and intimate for special occasions. Everything about our experience felt "Big city" without being stuffy. This week we found Escargot added to the appetizer menu, as well as an Eggplant Napolean. Both were perfectly prepared and presented. My wife had the Sea Bass and I had Steak. The prices are competitive for the Mandeville, Covington and Madisonville areas. The tables all had white linens on them and the wait staff were all dressed up in black suits. Our waiter greeted us and took our order. The complimentary bread came out perfect and warm. The appetizer was the corn and crab bisque, which was outstanding. It was my favorite thing I ate here and I think this bisque is probably top 3 in the New Orleans area. The entrees were steak of course, I got the filet, hubs got the ribeye. I think both were beautifully cooked and tasted very good. We also ordered the steamed broccoli and au gratin as sides. Both were ok. I did like the extensive wine list, that included Garnacha, which is rare I find. I thought it was a nice, enjoyable meal with exquisite service and elegant ambience. I do not think it is the best steakhouse in the New Orleans area, but it might be the best on the Northshore.
