We dined here a few months ago in September. It is a nice upscale open space, with beautiful touches of dark cherry wood throughout. The tables all had white linens on them and the wait staff were all dressed up in black suits. Our waiter greeted us and took our order. The complimentary bread came out perfect and warm. The appetizer was the corn and crab bisque, which was outstanding. It was my favorite thing I ate here and I think this bisque is probably top 3 in the New Orleans area. The entrees were steak of course, I got the filet, hubs got the ribeye. I think both were beautifully cooked and tasted very good. We also ordered the steamed broccoli and au gratin as sides. Both were ok. I did like the extensive wine list, that included Garnacha, which is rare I find. I thought it was a nice, enjoyable meal with exquisite service and elegant ambience. I do not think it is the best steakhouse in the New Orleans area, but it might be the best on the Northshore. read more

We just had a wonderful lunch here. I ordered the steak sandwich and an order of fries. They were outstanding. We got the almond tilapia, filet mignon and the catfish. Again, everything was really good as was the service. The one downside was, we were shorted a side on the catfish. It's supposed to come with a seafood stuffed bell pepper. They brought only the catfish and a couple of really burnt hush puppies, no stuffed bell pepper, which was disappointing. We didn't realize it until we were walking out. I'm not sure what's better here, the food or the service. I've only been here twice since moving back to Louisiana and this place has quickly become a favorite. The exceedingly polite and professional staff is always quick to greet you and show you to your table. Drink orders arrive promptly and with a smile. All the appetizers we've tried so far have been delicious but the stars of the show are the steaks. My wife always orders the 8oz filet and I opt for the 16oz ribeye, both medium rare, and they're always cooked to perfection. The filet is so tender you can cut it with a fork. We usually don't do dessert but tonight we decided to stuff ourselves. My wife had the bread pudding and I had the cheesecake, both were delicious. The best part was that the portions were so large that we had plenty to bring home for later. If you're a fan of quality steaks, don't miss this place. read more

I was treated to dinner recently and felt compelled to post a review. The food was good, but not great, and certainly not worth the price they charge. Portions are extremely small and not satisfying. The price of their cocktails is grossly overpriced. Overall, on a scale of one to 10, I would give them a three and that would be for the ambience. I was a regular here. The matradee, George is a real POS. Thinks he is something special.... Ordered a waygu special it wasn't waygu as I know than he proceeded to show me what the cut was like I'm an am astute steak eater. Sure he offered to keep me happy with a reorder of a filet. I was so turned off by his Obnoxious I didn't want to be there so put $200 on bar and was leaving George put the $200 on my back pocket and said "I don't need your money ". Redfish had too many bones in it. Spinach dip was just that- I couldn't tell if there was cheese at all. Crab cake pasta was soooooo unseasoned, along with the green beans. I can count on one hand the amount of times I had to put salt/pepper on my food at a restaurant and I did here. It had a plain taste and I was unimpressed. Keith's came highly recommended from several coworkers that live on the Northshore. We were looking for somewhere we haven't been for a nice night out for my fiancé's birthday. Let me tell you, this place did not disappoint! From the second we walked in the door, we knew we picked the right place. We were greeted with several smiling faces and sat within minutes of being there. The specials were presented to us as well as some not listed. Birthday boy ordered Angel's Envy and I ordered the St. Roch Cooler - very crisp and refreshing! Perfect summer drink! We started with the crab and spinach dip - delicious! The little crostinis were buttery and paired very well with the dip. I also ordered a wedge salad to start and the dressing was SO good. Now for the best part! Birthday boy got his 12oz House Cut Filet and I opted for the smaller, petite filet; still 8oz of pure, delicious, melt-in-your-mouth meat! Both cooked to a perfect medium rare! The picture of the 12oz does not do it justice! This thing was a huge tower of meaty perfection just sitting on the plate! He also ordered the bordelaise to pour over the top and that just took it to another level! For the sides - we called in back up from the waiter, we just couldn't decide! We were on the fence about the broiled tomatoes; he said they were one of the most underrated sides... he was not wrong! They were fresh and perfectly broiled with a crusty layer of parmesan on top and sitting there in a flavor pool of butter! We also got the asparagus, which were massive and the potato au gratin, so bubbly, creamy, cheesy, delicious! Oh! And get this... while waiting for my crème brûlée (another amazing choice), Mr. Keith Young himself came and had a chat with us! He asked how everything was, cleared our plates, and wished my fiancé a happy birthday and thanked us for taking the drive to eat at his place; very nice guy! Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs, but we enjoyed every single bite of every dish we were served! We were down in the area dropping our dog off at Resurge for ACL surgery. Ate lunch here on the way home. Hubby had the hamburger steak and I had the red fish. The red fish was wonderful and very fresh. It came with a rich beurre blanc sauce and some of the best fresh green beans I have ever eaten. I had a taste of the hamburger steak. It was huge and looked more like a strip. I believe they grind there own meat. It was good and very lean if that is what you are looking for. I think it would have been better if they added some fat. Last night was my first visit to Keith Young's and my last. So many issues it's hard to begin, even the Diet Coke was bad. The place was packed as I'm told it usually is. Our waitress seated us, took our drink orders and never came back for over an hour. We got 4 rolls for a party of 6 . Thank goodness bc we were all starving. A server went by and said " hot rolls are out of the oven". Never got any. When our waitress came back to take our orders for our party of 6, she forgot one person's salad. The person ordered a filet and salad. Had to flag her down again. I ordered a chicken dish bc that's the protein I usually eat. The chicken was dry; the rice was overcooked but the green beans were good. One person ordered crab cakes and when he cut one in half, it looked like a beignet. Maybe a teaspoon of crab meat. Another person ordered the almond encrusted tilapia. He said it tasted like it had been dipped in corn dog batter. Not an almond in sight or flavor. Obviously, I didn't ask for a to go bag but apparently they boxed up my leftovers and gave them to another member of our party. 3 out of the 6 in our party enjoyed their entrees to be fair. It's a nice looking place( w the exception of having to dodge waiters w trays coming down a common hallway to get to the bathroom ) so if ambience is what you look for in a restaurant, go there.
