Service Right has been my mechanical contractor for 2 years. Any time I have an issue with my AC or heat, Jolly the owner comes right over same day. Recently over the thanksgiving holiday he had to replace the entire heat and hot water system. He worked 12 hours a day and got it done in 5 business days. If you want someone who is reasonable, experienced and shows up, call Service Right. You won't be disappointed. read more

Since buying my new home, I've been anxious about the boiler we inherited. When seeking a plumber to understand the boiler, I wanted someone who would not just fix it, but would teach me. I recently bought a home with forced air heating. I realized as soon as it started to get chilly that one of the heating vents didn't work. When I went down to the basement I discovered there was a pipe that had come totally disconnected at one of its joints, and as a result I was heating the basement instead of my living room (yikes!). I played around with it a little but was afraid to move anything too much in case I made things worse. Over the last two weeks or so I've called probably 5 or 6 HVAC companies to come and check out what seemed to be (in my 100% unexperienced opinion) a fairly small repair - some were no shows, others claimed to be overbooked, and still others wanted to charge a pretty high fee just to come and take a look. Today I called ServiceRight, and was pleasantly surprised to hear that they'd come out the same day! They do charge $175 to come to the house, but they explained that if the repair was a quick fix then they wouldn't charge any more than that. If it was a longer job they'd waive the $175, but begin to charge by the hour with a minimum of 4 hours. I'd had other companies want to charge a fee to come out and then by the hour on top of that, so this seemed fair (also, I was pretty sure it would be a quick fix). They arrived a few hours later, put everything back together, secured it with screws and tape (which whoever installed the system should have done in the first place), and that was it. Now my living room is nice and toasty. If only I'd called them weeks ago! read more

Jolly and his colleague Antoine came to our house late one evening to service our boiler. He was professional and a good communicator. After getting high CO2 readings, he took the whole boiler apart the next day and thoroughly cleaned it. However, the problem was still there. He only accepted the original fee we had agreed upon for the service since he hadn't been able to solve the problem. Later the next morning - I received a text from him stating that it was possible that the cause was a faulty gas valve. I checked out some YouTube videos and agreed it was worth a shot - what did I have to lose? It was that or a new boiler. I am extremely pleased to report that it was the gas valve and Jolly had fixed my problem. Saved me a Ton of $. I would definitely hire him and ServiceRight again. read more

Jolly and his colleague came to our house on a weekend evening to diagnose our heating problem and came back the next day to fix it with the right part. He was professional, a good communicator, and prompt in fixing the problem. I appreciated his flexibility to come to our home on the weekend and evenings and he charged very fairly for that time (vs. other companies that charge you a ton to show up outside of 9-5 Monday to Friday). He also worked with us to get a reimbursement through Carrier for the part that needed to be replaced since it was under warranty. I would definitely hire him and ServiceRight again. read more

We specialize in a wide range of AVAC installation, maintenance, and repair services. To name a few, gas and oil boilers both steam and force hot water, oil and gas furnace, and heat pump. We work on a wide range of high efficiency boilers such as, Viessmann, Weil Mclain Ultra 230, and GV90, Laars, Rinnai, Navian, Lochinvar, Triangle Tube, and Burnham Alpine. We mostly focus on residential and small commercial business. We always show up on-site fully equipped, carrying most of the service parts to ensure that you will get same day service, as fast as possible. It is very unlikely that we will not have the part/s. We also offer emergency services, so feel free to contact us if you need any of our services. Most of the time we will get someone out regardless of the time.

I was born in the Caribbean and migrated to the US in 1989. I have a humble beginning. I grow up seeing my father works very hard to provide for his children. Seeing my father worked hard at a young age instilled in me the very same characteristic. I held various position including housekeeping, security guard, and then orderly/nursing assistant. Lateran, I take up a sitting position at the hospital where I watch disoriented patient and patient who are experiencing mental challenges. I use the job opportunity to go back to school in the day while working at night. I received my high school diploma and went to college for approximately a year and half, but never real completed college. I decided to go to trade school where I received my certification and my trade license as an oil burner technician. I was hired by a large oil burner company, and work as an oil burner technician for approximately 1.5 year. I applied for the pipe fitting/ refrigeration union and was accepted.

Below are things I wanted to know before choosing a contractor; maybe it will be helpful for you. Our situation: 100+ yr old home with current boiler in basement. We recently insulated our walk-up attic - that would both freeze and melt items stored there - with closed-cell spray foam (more research there), added drywall and will use it for storage. This is where the air handler and ERV (for ventilation) went. Our upstairs is now ducted, with one vent running through a closet on the 2nd floor to 1st floor. We also added a Mitsibishi floor mount unit and a ceiling cassette on 1st floor. So, we had a VARIETY of equipment installed, requiring a contractor experienced in not only ducting, but mini-split installs with both a ceiling cassette and floor mount unit. We did not want the large wall mount mini split units. Our walls/ceilings are PLASTER, (metal wire mesh and cement-based): cutting them is a JOB. And, we wanted the floor mount unit RECESSED. COST - James was in-line with our other bids, which came in between 27k and 39k, largely depending on equipment recommended, with ceiling cassettes costing more. Many contractors simply would not install them, and wanted to run ducts in the corners of all upstairs rooms to first floor, which to us was a last resort. COMMUNICATION - James is very responsive to texts, emails, and even more importantly, he is a fantastic communicator. He is very calm, not pushy, explains things in an easy-to-understand way that clearly shows he knows his business. I actually told my husband after he left for the first time, "I think we may have found our guy" just based on his personality and knowledge. He's likeable, which isn't a requirement, but definitely helps. EXPERTISE - This is what truly sets James apart. Our needs were fairly complex, requiring interior ducting, 2 outside units with exterior line sets, and recessed ceiling units, but also RECESSING the inside floor unit into an interior wall. We've overseen several renovation projects recently and could tell these guys knew what they were doing. Also, they were perfectionists, and paid attention to details you don't often find with contractors. DEPENDABILITY - Not a single missed appt. Showed up on time with clear communication. The job took a week. He also helped with Masssave paperwork. They cleaned up after themselves each day, which we appreciated. KNOWLEDGE - Extremely versed in Mitsibishi equipment. He's a Diamond Contractor, which extends our warranty, but we'd have chosen him regardless. Every question I had about these units (cassette and floor unit operation, air handler, ERV, outdoor units, thermostats...) he knew the answer to. When I researched anything specific online, from multiple and trusted sources, I found the info he'd given me to be correct. I trust his knowledge and I don't automatically do that. One example: our ceiling cassette has an internal thermostat and it's off by several degrees regularly. I researched it and found we likely need an external thermostat separate from the unit to measure the room's temp. I texted James a photo showing the inaccurate reading and his immediate reply, "you need an external thermostat. I'll install one." That's what I'm talking about. INTEGRITY - Example: After the permit inspector left, James explained his philosophy on inspections. Each city apparently has different requirements. He learned several years ago how strict one particular city was, requiring a blower test to determine air tightness and the passing score was 4% or less. He got 4.1% and city wouldn't pass it. This required a lot more time/energy to go through everything and another test and more $$. So, now James says to his guys, "We install to the strictest inspection every time, regardless of the specific city's requirements, so we don't ever have to redo anything." In our case, the city didn't need a blower test but if they did, I feel confident we would have passed! I don't often take time to write reviews, esp this lengthly, but I felt it was warranted here. Finding an HVAC contractor is HARD; it's time-consuming and complicated. And a lot of money. Three years of research finally led us to James and now, looking back, it was worth the wait and headaches in research. I would highly recommend anyone in the market for a new HVAC, especially if it involves Mitsibishi and especially ESPECIALLY if it involves recessing any equipment like ceiling cassettes or wall units, to consider James Wu. He and his team are uniquely skilled in their work.

Their price also included a 3 year service plan. The install was scheduled 3 days after I accepted the quote, others were scheduling 2-3 weeks out. On the day of the installation, the 128 crew arrived right on time, calling ahead to let me know they were on the way. They showed up with a four man crew, 2 installers for the mini-split and 2 electricians. The work was pristine, the wiring was neat, the unit was placed on a pad and looks great! The crew (Paul, Nedim, Nick & Connor) was extremely professional and curtious. The work was completed by 3pm same day. I am 100% pleased with the work and will be using them going forward for all my HVAC needs.

They've been great.. up until recently, when they started advertising on TV! I'm on Automatic Delivery and I noticed that my Oil Tank Levels have gotten quite low before they've come to fill the tank the last couple of months. This month it's even worse! I called them on Thursday because my tank was showing less than 1/8 Tank. I was worried about running out of oil and my pipes freezing in this extremely cold weather. They assured me I'd have oil delivered by Saturday. It never happened! Currently, my oil tank gauge is reading "Empty"! I called again today, Saturday Afternoon at 3:30 pm. I got the answering service who told me the office was closed but that a service technician would call me back. It is now 7:40 PM and I still haven't heard back from them. A call back would be nice, so that I can get an update and/or if I need to call someone else to deliver fuel! Not knowing is the worst part! My anxiety is Over the Top right now because running out of oil and losing my heat (as well as damage to my heating system) is just hours away because of their INCOMPETENCE! This is totally UNACCEPTABLE & UNNECESSARY!

They got me in right away (when I called back the 2nd time to book, they came the same day!). Two nice guys showed up, were here for about 30 minutes, and cleaned the vent. I asked them to take pictures since the work was done in the attic, and I didn't go up there (see attached pics). We had not had them cleaned in about 4 years, and they needed it! On their way out, they quoted me to clean our HVAC vents, which I had not even thought of doing. I will definitely use them again.
