Never Trust or Use Roto-Rooter's Services I am currently…read morestill in an ongoing billing dispute with Roto-Rooter, their final charges were approximately twice the amount my insurance company determined was reasonable for the work, and after nearly two months of trying to get clear answers from them, the issue remains unresolved. First, before the work started, I specifically raised concerns about insurance coverage and possible discrepancies between Roto-Rooter's charges and what my insurance company would pay. I attempted to stop them from continuing the work, but their project manager Michael told me: "We will work with the insurance company on any discrepancies. We do it all the time." Based on statements like this, I felt comfortable allowing the work to proceed. After the work was completed and billing became an issue, however, Michael's response was essentially the opposite: "I have no authority to interfere with anything related to billing." Another major issue is the water-loss classification. During the work, their manager, John, told me that this was a Category 1 project. Later, I discovered that the billing was based on Category 2 conditions. When I finally managed to speak with John and asked why I was being billed based on Category 2 after two months, he seemed to forget he told me this is Category 1 project, and instead of simply explaining the discrepancy and providing supporting documentation, he asked whether I was "IICRC trained" and whether I had just "GPT'd" the information and was now trying to confront them with it. That response was incredibly unprofessional. I was not claiming to be an IICRC professional. I was a customer asking a very simple and reasonable question: Why was I told Category 1 before the work, but then billed based on Category 2 afterward? And what are the evidences? During that conversation, John said he would provide documentation supporting the Category 2 classification and also provide me with what the charges would have been under a Category 1 classification. To date, I have received neither. I still have not been provided with any meaningful evidence supporting the Category 2 classification, nor the Category 1 pricing he said he would provide. Communication throughout this dispute has been extremely frustrating. Over approximately two months, I have sent more than a dozen emails trying to resolve the billing dispute and get clear answers. Many of those emails received no response at all. At this point, I am still trying to resolve the dispute with Roto-Rooter. I am simply asking them to explain and substantiate their charges, address the discrepancy between what I was told before the work and how I was billed afterward, and provide the information their own manager said he would provide. Based on my experience so far, I would strongly caution anyone considering Roto-Rooter

The…read moremen who did the manual labor to treat our mold and water damage were excellent, hardworking, and professional. All 3 stars is because of y'all My issue is entirely with management. After my insurance company caused complications that led to First Call terminating the job which I understood, I received an invoice in May of last year. I paid that balance in full with two separate checks within two weeks. I have the receipts, the copies of the checks, and the bank statements showing exactly when First Call cashed them. After a full year of zero communication, I woke up today to a voicemail and email threatening to send me to collections within 48 hours. They claimed they had been "trying to reach me" for 12 months, which is untrue. I checked my call logs and my email history; there was absolutely nothing. When I called and provided my proof of payment and the exact dates they cashed my checks, they admitted the "error" was simply because someone forgot to check a box in their system. It is incredibly stressful and offensive to have your credit threatened because a company can't be bothered to check their own bank deposits before sending out threats. As a veteran, I live by a standard of integrity and doing your due diligence. Relying on a "checked box" as the Bible instead of doing actual research is lazy and unprofessional. Do better, not just for your customers, but for the reputation of the guys out there doing the actual work.

After communicating through the Yelp Services option, Marco showed up the morning of during the window of time to get a free consultation. Starting in the bathroom, instead of selling us his services, he told us honestly that we could fix it ourselves by purchasing a few items since they have a minimum charge that wasn't worth it for the bathroom fix. He took the time to walk us through how to fix it and why vinegar doesn't solve the root of the problem. He pointed out things from our paint to our bathroom ventilation issues that we should address. For the shed, he truthfully told us the cost of how much it would be for him to fix it versus us doing it ourselves or hiring some people he was training instead. He wasn't afraid to recommend other people instead of himself and I truly appreciated the information he gave us. We told him we wanted it to be a gym and he even gave recommendations on how to prevent moisture problems in the future. Sometimes it's tough with people being salespeople and selling their services (and I get that they need to sell themselves for their business) but I'm grateful to meet people like Marco who I'd definitely recommend to anyone who needed mold remediation services.

We recently discovered mold on a storage closet wall and found ourselves in need of mold…read moreremediation. We suspect it was the result of a hot water heater leak a couple of years ago that we "thought" we had taken care of. Never having had to deal with this before, we started researching, and soon realized "mold" can be a big headache and big expense and needs to be handled correctly. We received 3 quotes and decided to go with One Call Services. First contact was with Marco, the owner. Very friendly, professional and helpful. Jamie was the representative that came to the house to check out our situation so he could provide us with a quote. Again friendly, professional, knowledgable, did some preliminary testing with a meter, and walked us through the steps they would take so we knew exactly what to expect if we went with them. We had One Call Services' estimate by the end of that same day and were soon on their calendar. They give us a competitive quote - neither the highest or the lowest, BUT the real reason we chose One Call Services was a level of comfort and confidence that we received from both Marco and Jamie and the feel that this company had integrity; That they would do a good job and do it right so this wouldn't come back to haunt us again in another couple of years, and that they wouldn't take us for any more than was needed. A crew of 3 came to do the work - Jorge, John and Israel. Customer service is obviously a priority with this company. Again, these 3 guys were friendly, polite, considerate, respectful, clean, efficient and communicated well; Easy to have around the house. They efficiently prepped the house covering our floors and anything else that could not be moved out of the work area. Then they set up enclosures sealing off the work areas to prevent mold contamination while they removed the necessary materials. When all of the contaminated materials were bagged and removed, HEPA filters were set up to clean the air left in the chambers while the treated areas dried. From start to finish, we were very impressed with One Call Services and although I don't wish this need on anyone, we highly recommend them to anyone who does.

I've never had to use a Water Restoration service before so I browsed trusty Yelp and reached out to Fire & Water Damage. Glad fellow Yelp friend Karen W gave a glowing review! They seem to answer calls 24/7 and I was able to schedule an appointment quickly. Mike was main point of contact and gave us an estimate and scope of work. Basically, they had to tear out the drywall and insulation from the wet area, dry and dehumidify the area for days, and then put on moon suits and remove any mold. We were able to have 2 techs come on a Friday and then let the dehumidifier run over the weekend. We also had to tear out our upper cabinet since the top was damaged by water. On Monday, they came back to remove any leftover mode and patch things up. The total price came in well below the estimate, which is a huge plus. Very happy with the service and efficiency. If you ever suspect you have water damage from leaks, call these guys and get the problem resolved to ensure mold doesn't form or worst, spread. Note that their services are purely restorative - they'll dry out the water-damaged area and get rid of all the mold. You'll need to hire a plumber first to stop the leaks and then afterwards, a drywall contractor to patch up the holes with insulation and new drywall followed by texturing and painting.

They fixed and restored broken chairs that were in our basement and made them look brand new during the restoration process. I would recommend them to anyone who has experienced a disaster and needs this service. I can't say enough good things about this company, they are just simply AMAZING from start to finish. We had an extensive water damage in our home and due to the work required we had to move out. Thankfully, the water mitigation company our insurance worked with referred SRH to do our packing/move-out and storage of our furniture and household items. I was so nervous and anxious at first because we've never had to move out of our home since we moved in, and we've never worked with professional movers so we had no idea what to expect. From Day 1 of packing, SRH crew put my mind and my heart at peace. These people are REAL PROFESSIONALS in their field! They were punctual (right on schedule), and EVERY single item in my house was so meticulously and carefully wrapped and packaged. Not only were they so efficient, they're also very respectful of their clients and their client's home. 7 months later, they came back and delivered our stuff in the SAME condition it left my house. The only difference, SRH wrapped and packaged my stuff WAY BETTER than when I purchased it. I'm currently unboxing my items now, and I'm still amazed on how well my stuff is packaged. How I wish ALL of the contractors and vendors we've worked with during the remodeling were like SRH. Thank you Henry and SRH for your valuable and quality service. WE NEED MORE BUSINESSES LIKE YOU who actually cares about their clients - especially at a very stressful time. It makes a huge difference and it really means a lot. Thank you and stay blessed! - Aura S.
