    Bedroom ceiling

We hired Service Master to do mold remediation/restoration, they did the demolition of our only full bathroom, and in part of our bedroom. They took out the moldy drywall, and when they were done we called the company to schedule the restoration. We were told by the project manager we were assigned that they weren't accepting new clients for restoration! I reminded her that we are current clients, not new clients, and she said we'd have to Google other contractors for help. No waiting list, no promises to get to us at a later date, they just dropped us. We contacted the manager, no help there either. When they did the demolition, they did it in such a way that we'll need to tear out ALL the drywall in the bathroom in order to put up new drywall in a way that looks good. I called a few other contractors, but they all said they are booked out six months! Here's a couple of photos of what they left us with:

When the significant leak from my dishwasher was discovered, I researched restoration companies,…read moreand (thanks to Yelp) found Oregon Restoration. The staff at the company, from estimation of damage services (Matt) to project managment (Danny and Meghan) was excellent. Each stage was explained, questions answered, options laid out, and actions scheduled. Company representatives negotiated well with my insurance company. And the "back office' staff were most heklpful in setting up payment services. Although (as so often with reconstruction) more problems due to leakage were discovered as the project progressed, leading to a longer project time than expected, I always felt I was in good hands. No detail was too small to be addressed, and "doing the job right" was al ways a high priority. My kitchen has been more than restored: it has been improved, and the results are beautiful. I am very pleased with my eperience with Oreogn Restoration, and would choose them again.

DO NOT USE OREGON RESTORATION…read more I strongly caution homeowners to stay far away from this company. In our experience, they were unprofessional, disorganized beyond belief, greed and rude. We hired Oregon Restoration for an insurance-funded residential repair project, and the process was plagued by prolonged delays, billing disputes, and repeated attempts to charge for work that was never performed. We waited months for any meaningful progress while living in an extended-stay hotel. Throughout the project, we were forced to reconcile invoices against the insurer's estimate ourselves, repeatedly pushing back on charges that exceeded or fell outside the approved scope. Subcontractor coordination was extremely poor - we spent months dealing with a flooring company they work closely with, only to find that when costs exceeded the claim budget, Oregon Restoration made no effort to identify a more affordable or appropriate alternative. Ultimately, we had to step in and manage that ourselves. By that point, we had already paid a $50,000 deposit, which made it difficult to walk away due to concerns about recovering those funds. Despite multiple attempts to resolve issues cooperatively, closing out the project required countless emails and phone calls. This experience was far more time-consuming and stressful than it should have been. I sincerely regret choosing Oregon Restoration. Their claim that they "do things differently" is a justification for inflating costs and maximizing their profit, rather than providing transparent or customer-focused service.

In the process of selling our home, the inspector had noted "possible bio-organic growth" in attic…read more I knew there was no way this was possible, as I am up in the attic very regularly, and it is in very good shape up there (the roof is also newer as well). To satisfy the buyer however, I had an inspection done by ServPro so that they could write something up for me to give the buyer saying that it had been addressed and that there was no mold. The technician who came out was a very friendly, nice guy. He explained to me that what he saw in the attic was nothing more than discoloration of the wood, and there was definitely no mold. He told me they see this all the time in Oregon, and it's not a very big deal, but inspectors have to list it as "possible growth" just to cover themselves from potential lawsuits. He told me they would treat it with something (though he didn't mention what), take photos of it, and write-up a report to give to the buyers. He was out here for probably 30-45 minutes, including the time it took him to do his thing in the attic. The cost for all this? $500. Truth be told, I'd be leaving 5-stars if it wasn't for the cost. I personally would have expected something like this to cost around $300. I figure his time is probably worth $100-$150 an hour (including driving to my house), plus spraying the product, and writing up the report. So I do feel the price was greatly inflated as they know that in my position as the seller, I really have no other choice but to satisfy the buyer. That being said, if it wasn't for the outrageous price for 30-45 minutes of his time, I would be leaving 5-stars. However, I'm going to leave 3-stars because of this. I have no issues with this company as they were all very friendly, responsive, and polite. I just think that $500 is a bit of "price gouging" for something so simple. I would have had no problem doing this myself, I'm just not an official company, so I couldn't give my buyer a nice letterhead saying there was no mold. In summary: Fantastic company, friendly and punctual employees, but drastically inflated prices.

There are no adequate words to describe the incompetence of this company…read more Nick Coffey was to do a simple SGO report. I see his manager saying that they do the "MOST" in the state. oh boy. I signed a contract 2/2/2022 and from the moment the check cleared Nick stopped communicating. I finally called before memorial day. excuses, so sad, personal problems, etc, etc. said the report was almost done, give him a week. It is July 21st, and I have NOTHING. He did send me what he had done June 15th, but it is so incomplete the NEW Geo Engineer I have to hire said he may have to start from scratch. I want my deposit back. I don't care anymore who died. You have other staff that could have completed my report. This company literally cost me 300k because the buyers pulled out. It was taking too long and I had absolutely no way to know when the report that is holding up our partition will be finished. $300,000.00. That is a huge problem.

If it were possible to leave zero stars, that's what I would have done. Look elsewhere if you need…read morethis type of service. We entered into a contract with this company which required 50% down with the balance due upon completion of the project and a thorough written report to be produced and filed with the DEQ. We paid the 50% and shortly into the project we were asked for additional cash, which we paid. The project was never completed and we did not receive the promised report, nor did the DEQ, however we were billed an additional sum which we declined to pay. Conversations with Nick Coffey were less than productive and he still could not produce the report. At his request the account was then sent to a collection agency, subsequently to an arbitrator, who requested a copy of the report in question, which Mr Coffey was unable to locate. Finally the case was scheduled for small claims court, but because Mr Coffey did not cooperate with the collection agency representing him, they chose to drop the case. At best Nick Coffey is incompetent, and at the worst, a scam artist.
