If I could give zero stars I would. The agents at this location are perhaps the worst I have ever experienced and they truly lack any knowledge beyond simple tasks of renewing a license. They also need some sensitivity training surrounding ownership transfers of a deceased person's car and maybe they should brush up on their knowledge when it comes to matters such as these. Three of them trying to read a will as if they are lawyers themselves, making completely ignorant statements and then refusing to read any of the supplementary forms prepared by an actual lawyer, telling me that they were not valid. Despite all these the documents prepared by an Estate Lawyer and signed in his presence, they still refused to transfer the ownership and told me to take up with a Government Office at Yonge and Sheppard. I have read numerous reviews here and elsewhere on how this office has been misinforming patrons, making them return another day or go to another office for resolution. Absolutely the worst experience I ever have with government services at this particular Service Ontario office. I became a permanent resident of Canada back in October and did my first landing in Canada at the Lewiston - Queenston Bridge Niagara Fall. At the Canada Border, I declared to the Customs officers all my personal properties and belongings on Forms BSF 186 and 186A as a first time "settler" immigrant which include my own personal vehicle from the US. As a first time settler immigrant, I was informed by Customs officers that my belongings including my vehicle will be exempted from GST taxes. However, this "Manager" at this Service Ontario told me I have to pay 13% GST tax on my car before I can register it in Ontario. She told me out loud that whenever someone brings a vehicle from either another province or from the US, 13% GST tax must be paid by the vehicle owner despite me trying to explain the federal Customs tax exemption for first time settler immigrant. This Manager just rudely said "I don't care what the Canada Border Customs told you or indicated on their forms, if you want to register your car in Ontario, pay the 13% GST tax ! I finally gave up explaining to her and decided to go to a different Service Ontario location and sure enough at the other location, they were aware of the tax exemption for first time settler immigrant and did not make me pay the 13% GST for my vehicle. It was very frustrated to deal with an incompetent, ignorant and rude government employee who apparently is a "Manager" that arbitrarily apply her own interpretation of tax rule in a capricious manner. I stopped by this location on a really snowy day to replace my license and Heath card and it was a really quick experience. The lady working at the front gave me a ticket and I was in and out in 30 minutes. The employees who helped me were nice and it was a relatively pleasant experience. read more

This location is way bigger than the one I usually frequent in my neighbourhood. There are TVs to watch. A seating area for you to sit down and wait for your turn, There is even vending machines... Why do I need all these if I just here to renew my stickers?! I do like how they organized the queue for service by why you are coming in for: Health Card/Driver License Renewal? Abstracts? Stickers Renewal? All of Others? Instead of every one waiting in line by who arrived first. Have you ever waited in line when everyone in front of you have all these complicated things that need to be process and it took forever? Time took for Sticker Renewal: 10 minutes All Others: 50 minutes The parking lot though could be crazily busy especially during lunch time since there are almost 10 restaurants inside this plaza! read more

I followed the instructions on the Service Ontario website and ordered my marriage certificate so I could change my Driver's License and Health Card. There were two options: a cheaper, "file-size" version, and a "long-form, certified copy". I purchased the certified copy and when it came, I visited this location. I arrived at 9:25 and stood in the lineup pictured for 25 minutes. When I got to the front, the Service Ontario staff member asked me to see the certificate and told me they would not accept the "certified copy" version, they would only accept the "file-size" version. I tried to explain that I followed the directions on the website & had waited 25 minutes but she would not listen. She told me I could change my Health Card with that certificate, but not my License. When I inquired as to why, as they should be the same process, she could not answer and ushered me out of the way. Needless to say, I just got off the phone with Service Ontario who confirmed they absolutely CAN accept either version of the certificate to change both my License and Health Card. This was after returning home, ordering the other version, having it sent via Purolator, missing the delivery as I was at work, and not being able to pick it up from the Purolator depot as the name on my License does not match the package WHICH IS WHY I NEED THE CERTIFICATE. I had to renew my driver's license and auto sticker on a rainy yesterday at Yonge and Steeles. Central location, but the intersection during the day is killer busy. When you walk in take a number. :( , my number was 96 and they were only at 74. I thought I was going to be there forever! Pleasantly, I was in and out in under 35 minutes. I don't think that's bad considering the place was packed. They have TVs with CP24 that you can read the subtitles. The lady who served me was nice enough. I truly think most people don't come with the right documents or they expect them to do things they just don't. It looks a little worse for wear, but, hey it's just a government building. It's within a very busy strip mall (way at the back). TONS of Asian restaurants and other little shops. In the plaza beside (which I go to often because it has Big Al's) has a dollar store. I personally love the little tiny one I usually go to in Port Perry, but this was closer. Have all you docs ready and you won't be disappointed; be patient, bring a book. read more

I only come to this service ontario because its convenient. However, some of the workers seem to hate their jobs. I get it, it's tough dealing with people day to day, but when one person irritates you, it isn't a door way to ruin another's. I was misinformed by one of the employees from this location regarding my vehicle. What angered me more was that the manager brought up the idea that maybe I had "forgotten" what the lady said because she worked there for so many years. I'm pretty sure that I would have remembered that I would have to TOW my car somewhere. She cost me extra money by giving me the wrong information and for that I will never forgive them. I did call service ontario and got another lady to review the steps in what I needed done, and she proceeded to tell me that that woman should have told me what I was getting myself into. She even asked me which location I was served at. If you're just coming here to do something quick, come early and get it over with. The workers aren't the friendliest, and I'm sure they don't get any friendlier as the day passes. read more

Of all the ServiceOntario locations that I've been to over the years, this one is definitely high up on the list. There is plenty of parking because it's located in a plaza with tons of food options. This ServiceOntario looks small on the outside but was pretty large inside, with seats and a TV to pass the time. I came here to renew my driver's license and license plate stickers. Once I was served, things moved quickly. However, it took about an hour before I was served. What else do you do but observe the people who work there? Unlike other reviews, I thought the people who worked there were great and seemed very helpful. read more

One of those places we all have to visit and wait in line at for various reasons. While it is not ad bad as it once was, it is still a rather painful experience . This is one of two locations on the GTA that can process and renew an enhanced drivers licence. As such, visiting same is a necessary evil. Visiting during off peak hours is highly recommend. read more

Went in to arrange replacement of my lost heath card and driver's licence. Arrived 20 minutes before opening and we weren't the first there but not too far back in the line. They moved people through quickly and we were at the receptionist in no time. And I must say that having a receptionist who asks what service you need, provides the correct forms, and highlights what parts needs completion really speeds things up and reduces confusion compared to the Service Ontario agency I usually use in Ottawa where I live. I didn't wait too long for my number to be called and a pleasant agent had us out of there with what we needed quickly. Definitely better than my usual Service Ontario. read more
