Positive reviews for this company are extremely suspect. This company Failed to pull a permit when they opened a wall and didn't bother opening the adjoining wall below which a tacky fire sprinkler system exploded: They left water in walls: Which grew mold that caused very serious medical and financial damage. Left a floor transition (between tile and wood flooring) to trip over and refused to fix it. Floorboards badly fitted; put higher floorboards in one room so that it didn't meet same height in room they joined. read more

Totally awful experience - waited weeks beyond their promised start time while living in the damaged apartment. When they finally started work they failed to protect the floors and furniture. They continued to extend the duration of the project, during which time my family had to find alternative housing which ServePro did not cover - for over a week. When we did return we found that they had done a sloppy substandard paint job on every room they restored. We needed to hire a completely separate company to complete the painting job. Go anywhere else for restoration work. These guys are awful to work with and give awful results. read more

A flood occurred in our home while we Were out of town. Servpro was a State Farm certified source for emergency response, damage mitigation, and repairs. They middle-manned insurance claim adjuster and contractor communication, estimates, funds-tracking, and project management. Most impressive was their packing team which moved away, stored and returned our entire living room and kitchen (furniture and appliances) for repair of flooring, drywall and paint and returned it all without further damage. Our upstairs neighbor had a flood in her laundry room that caused water damage in our laundry room just below. Drywall had to be removed, dryers brought in, and the whole laundry area repaired. Got a callback right away and someone was out that day to look at a water leak in our ceiling with an estimate to follow. We opted to not do a repair due to other reasons but they were certainly on the spot to deliver. I also had an ERP - Emergency Response Plan, I believe is the correct name. Rob Chianese came out, looked over our property, shut offs and delivered their free ERP which will be totally helpful should there be an emergency. It even has an app I can look at to shut off water, gas, electric. Our property is big and can get confusing as to what is where. I really appreciated this service which was surprisingly totally complimentary. I only gave 4 stars because of not having work done yet, thank goodness, because it's not been needed. But I'd go first to them. read more

These guys are the best! My father in law left a faucet running in my bathroom that flooded down into my living room. The carpet in my upstairs hallway was soaked and the living room ceiling was destroyed. The water also got into the closet where my heater was installed. I called these guys at 11pm on a Sunday and they showed up within 45 minutes to bring a moisture collecting machine to prevent the formation of molds. What excellent service. In about a week they were done without a trace of the damage at all. Their employees where so nice and professional that I ended up having lunch with them when they took a break. Hopefully I never have to use them again but if the need does arise I will definitely give these guys a call. read more

Our dishwasher flooded our house at the same time that my wife was diagnosed with thyroid and lymph cancer. Our State Farm Insurance Company recommended SERVPRO of South San Rafael -Sausalito and we assigned them the job to pack out, restore, and pack in our whole house. My wife and I resided in a hotel for three months while she underwent surgery, radiation, and vocal cord repair. Needless to say, we were overwhelmed by both the house and her health needs. Jesus and his team were extraordinarily responsive and considerate of our special needs. They went beyond normal restoration to provide the speed and service that exceeded our expectations. I am particularly impressed by the squads of teams they assign to each phase of a project so many people are working on the job to get it done on time and on budget. They were also very good to make special requests of the insurance adjusters and provided a great system for approval and reimbursement. Our whole job was completed in three months and we were able to move back in for Thanksgiving visited by our family from all over the country who marveled at the beauty of our repaired home. I see that there is not enough space here for me to properly review the amazing people who came to help me when my daughter reached Ivan Espinal to help me with the huge water damage my home was experiencing in the middle of the night at the end of August. Servpro is a company that has many branches. And each is individually owned. My daughter lives in Pasadena. I live in SF, near the GG Bridge, and the one she was fortunate to connect with finally, was the best! SERVPRO of South San Rafael/Sausalito The people I want to rave about are : Ivan Espinal the Leader Alicia Albor the head technician Mr. Espinal was very thorough in assessing the extent of the reach of the overflow of water throughout our structure, and I was a complete nervous wreck. I have a disabled son and I am a senior, so I was really thrown. He had his team come immediately to set up equipment and redirect the overflow after the water was turned off, begin the drying out process. The young woman, Miss Albor, was very professional and knowledgeable about the different kinds of people who came over the next several days to assess the situation and damage to walls, ceilings, floors and carpets, as well as directing antiques and paintings to the right specialists to see if they needed restoration. She also knew how to make me feel at ease about living in such a complicated way in my home, with many of my things in boxes, and making me feel reassured that things will work out... I had some tears, to be sure, but she was right there to let me know she would do everything in her power to make it as comfortable as possible for me. So far, and we are ten days into this, I am completely comfortable with this company and very happy we are in their hands. Alicia is a wonderful asset to them! These guys were great, from the initial booking over the phone to the completion of the job. I was in between a rock and a hard place with 24 hours to get the job done. I had a 500sqf warehouse that we had decided to carpet years ago and the landlord was requiring us to remove it...including all the glue. I called multiple places and they either said "we don't do that" or "we cant get out there that fast" but not Servpro! They never scoffed at the work that needed to be done and they called the local franchise to confirm availability while I waited. They were out first thing the next morning and completed the job in record time (previous estimates had come in double on both time and $$). These guys are awesome and work hard, I will definitely be calling them in the future! read more

I had a great experience with Servpro. The supervisor was Eddie. He is wonderful. My mom had a water main break that flooded her kitchen and breakfast room. Eddie was great with communication, kept on schedule, helped me deal with my less-than-helpful mother (she is old), and even boxed up my mom's kitchen items (she refused to do it). A pipe burst in my home and flooded my kitchen, hallway & laundry room. My insurance recommended that we work with Servpro because they do the demo and reconstruction all in one package...they came out on a Monday marked on my floors of what needed to be demolished and took my husbands house key so they could come back while we were working...Come Wednesday Servpro called my insurance and refused to come back to do the work (mind you they still have our house key). My insurance offered to pay them mileage to and from for the work, but they still denied. I have to say, the last few days have been horrible and Servpro has only prolonged the damages of my house all while I am 9 months pregnant. They are very unprofessional and not willing to work with my insurance. This review is specifically for the Sausalito store. We are being transferred to the San Jose store and although they don't do reconstruction, I am hoping their customer service is much better than these people... read more

I had a flood in my garage due to a clogged drain -right after my new tenants/neighbors moved in and put a bunch of stuff in their storage area- also starting to flood. Servpro showed up quickly and absolutely had a handle on what needed to be done. The thing that they did was convince me to do things that I didn't want to - there was drywall in part of the area, and they showed me with the moisture meter why we had to rip it up and my insurance paid - further proof of what was required. Discovered mold in my home and have 3 sick children. Call Servpro with the issue to set up an inspection. Called in at night to be connected to a tech (Karen) who said she would call me the next day with an appt. Next day I waited until making 2 calls to the office to be told some people called off work and they would call me back in 10 min. That was days ago. Apparently a mold and sick children problem isn't a priority with this company yet it is what they do for a living. Joke. Do Not Do Business With!!! read more

ServPro provided a bid for a job including water damage mitigation, mold remediation and asbestos-containing material (ACM) abatement, for $18k. Yikes. Pursuing further solutions, we were able to secure two separate bids for about $8k. We were also informed that ServPro has a bad habit of padding a bid and including work and materials or equipment that are completely unnecessary. And I had to chase Jean in order to get a quote to begin with. Caveat emptor. Use Central Valley Environmental or National Response Team instead. read more
