I wanted to update my review to credit SERVPRO for reaching out and trying to rectify the issue. They were encouraged to try to make amends after seeing my negative review and they were able to give us credit for the additional cleaning fee we had to pay as well as cover additional paint. When we had our inspector come and look at the job, he was amazed that there had been a leak and extensive damage because he said he would have never been able to tell! I was very unhappy with the service, especially at the very end...like others have said communication was good but I felt they overcharged the insurance company a lot. A 2 week project of redoing the flooring while a leak was being fixed, took 15 weeks. It was not only estimated incorrectly, but they made me pay the difference after an agreed upon contract. Then when completed, the quality was so poor and done with such bad workmanship, that I had to fire them after paying 75% of the contract and rehire a contractor to demolish their work and start over. Learning that harsh lesson, I asked them to back off on working on the first floor damages and walk away. Kayla is absolutely clueless and quite a newbie in this field. Krishna tried to make up for her inadequacies but the damage was already too steep to come back from. This was a nightmare of a project. Never again. read more

I really liked the guys who came out and they did a careful job. My concern was the possibility of leaking gas from the disconnected and reconnected gas dryer when the dryer didn't work. Turned out they had just not turned the gas back on. I was concerned, however, and the night phone person just said there was nothing he could do. They did send a technician in the morning - after I called again - who identified the problem and fixed it. read more

I was recommended by my insurance to contact Servpro of Irvine. Within the same day of contacting them Krishna and Vance arrived to assess my water damage. In no less than an hour they were able to find the leak which had affected more of my bathroom than I thought. Later that day I received an estimate of the overall work and they even communicated with my insurance adjuster, making it less stressful on me. My fridge developed a leak while I was away in early 2022 with resultant water damage to my condo. Thankfully, my insurance company was able to set me up with ServPro, who were able to come by to get the mitigation process underway while I was still away. Then they were able to coordinate all of the components needed for restoration, as well, which took essentially all the pressure off as far as trying to coordinate the various contractors I would have had to reach out to in order to get the place back up and running. Basically, a HUGE thanks to ServPro for managing this entire process from mitigation to restoration and for being my advocate with the insurance company for additional required items. My insurance actually called to say they were going to provide additional payment based on a subsequent conversation that ServPro had with them when itemizing the restoration checklist. This review is long overdue. I used ServPro of Irvine to address water damage in the master bedroom and bathroom at my condo in late 2017. It was a long drawn out repair and restoration process due to ServPro's total lack of responsiveness and professionalism. Also please be aware that the owner Rod Sibley may claim as he did with me that he's just the project manager who has absolutely no understanding of why you were billed for certain services. Talk about lack of ownership When there's water damage, people are desperate and call upon contractors like ServPro to address their concerns with a modicum of integrity and professionalism. ServPro of Irvine should be stripped of its franchise rights. Also you should know that you can use any ServPro location and not just the location in your area. I found this out later after I'd desperately called ServPro of Irvine totally freaked about the water damage that I needed to address quickly. Check out the reviews for the other ServPro locations and stay away from ServPro of Irvine. Updates December 11, 2019: This update is a response to Rod Sibley's comment below. My kitchen ceiling started leaking from bathroom upstairs in February. Statefarm insurance referred 2 companies. Both were fast coming to my house, but Chrishna of Servpro has the fancy gauges showing the humidity levels, distance , so he could offer the estimate on the spot based on affected area size. The mitigation part started quickly after Statefarm approved. Within 4 days , the ceiling became dry and sanitized. The team came to check every day, polite and on time, Wearing mask and shoe covers, the last day they even mopped the floor When left the house. The whole process has been fast, clean, professional and left me no trouble. Chrishna is a promising manager , who is very polite, patient and knowledgable. He answered all the questions and responded quickly on phone and texting. He is a great young man all bosses wish for, and customers would like to work with next time. Though I turned down the 2nd remodeling phase due to I think the cost is high (though my guess might be wrong ). But this company did provide me great and trouble free service! read more

We suffered some extensive water damage at my home in the midst of Covid 19. Rod was able to come in and abate my awful anxiety about the situation and worked really hard with me and my partner to get our situation under control. He immediately had a company come out to handle asbestos testing and then another company to deal with the asbestos abatement. During this time he made sure to get us safe into a hotel and had his crew handle the pack out. His crew is composed of young men who are very polite, well spoken, careful with your personal property, conscientious and professional. They all wore proper PPE while working in our home and were great about communicating when they would be at the house for anything they were doing which included the packing and loading a POD, removing cabinetry and countertops, and performing mitigation. Rod always stopped by to make sure his crew did what was needed for the next step to begin. Rod was always available via phone and text to address any concerns we had. He's a super kind and empathetic person and definitely who you want to have on your side when disaster strikes. read more

Please learn from previous reviews. We learned the hard way. Servpro's are independently owned and this one is the worst. This office was contacted by our insurance to start mitigation. I trusted Rod and everything he said, but everything I was told was a lie. They took Longer then expected and created a bigger mess. They were paid by insurance for all invoices but double billed and put a lien on the house. They take full advantage of people in a difficult situation, give you the run around, can't give you straight answers, have no customer service skills specially Lilian in the accounting department, good luck getting a hold of anyone. I don't think they are qualified to run this office. Try any other office In the area you will get excellent service and professional care. The worst experience with these people! They deserve less than a star! Called to get a quote on Monday from Alex and explained that I had to move on Friday. He called me back on Tuesday with a quote. Asked Alex if they also provide a moving service. He said that he would get back to me. Wednesday I call back and leave a message for Alex. Don't get a call back. Thursday morning I call and speak to Lillian. She starts to schedule a time for my move on Friday. Said she would call me back. It was 5:30 PM and I still haven't heard anything back. Servpro Irvine is amazing! My home had been hit by a water pipe burst from my next door neighbors home. I called and they came over quickly! They came prepared with masks, covers for their shoes, equipment, etc. I loved how Rod took time to discuss ways that would be best to fix my home, keeping me informed and in the loop. As a single mother, they made me feel safe and taken care of. Once a plan had been set with what needed to be done, the employees came and did an immaculate job. I have contacted this company because World Restoration was booked the morning of my kitchen flood. The company is unethical and conduct bad business practices. The survey I submitted had been altered by one of their employees. Someone had crossed out my initial rating, forged my initial, and circled in a more favorable rating. When we confronted their manager Rob about it, he was defiant and retorted why would they do that. We wanted to have them investigate this matter and told them we wanted an answer before we paid. We had just received the invoice that afternoon and were by no means delinquent. At that point Rob demanded payment using demeaning tactics. He first tried to patronize us by speculating that we have money problems then scare us by threatening to file a lien on our house which is extremely unreasonable because we just received the invoice a few hours earlier. Our project started as "a few weeks" in late December. It's now mid-March and still unfinished. This is the most incompetent and mis-managed operation I've ever encountered. This week alone nobody showed up and all calls go to voice mail and no return call. How can they remain in business? They generally have not adhered to commitments to show up and perform the work. Requests for advance notice prior to arriving to work are ignored and then they're miffed if no one is home. Rudeness and ineptness is their forte. Friendly contractor but their workmanship, timeliness and responsiveness once contract was in place was terrible. Stay away! They completely botched a $30K plus flooring project and now according to several flooring experts the solution is to simply to a tear out an perform new installation - their estimate over $50K since the tile is now porcelain and not laminate.
