From start to finish, I was impressed with the SERVPRO group from Reading. We had a sewer line that separated past the basement wall where the honey pot was coming back through the wall of my 108 year old basement. I had a terrible experience recently with ServPro of Reading/Pottsville. Not with the employees, but specifically with the owner Timothy Wilson. Long story short...he initially sent a crew to do a consultation and they found water damage (I had sewage pipes burst in a closet in my downstairs..it was a mess). I was never given official results of that consult, but was contacted by them a week later to set up an appointment for them to come for what I assumed was treatment of the damaged areas. He then arrived with a totally different crew and told me suddenly there wasn't any damage worth treating. He was condescending, arrogant, and rude to me in my own home. He insinuated that I was wasting their time because the area was no longer wet (well because the initial damage had happened three weeks prior at that point and I had the worst removed at that point and fans and dehumidifiers running). So why even send a second crew if your own consultation did not warrant it??! Makes no sense. He made me feel as if this was somehow all my fault. I suffer from asthma and other respiratory issues and I had lost sleep since I had this water damage and wanted to be sure I wasn't living with any type of mold. Timothy Wilson was rude on the phone from day one, to being rude to me in my home. I ended up having another company do the job. I would never recommend him to anyone. I had tried several times to then follow up with him by phone, but conveniently every time I called he was "unavailable" or "in a meeting", and he never called me back, so he left me no choice but to take to leaving this review (among others). I am a reasonable woman and it didn't have to go this way. And just to clarify, his employees were polite gentleman the entire time, and I'm sorry they have to work for him. read more

The day after Christmas we had the ceiling collapse in our laundry room from a water leak in the upstairs bathroom. Servpro of Reading came the next day and cleaned up the damage and put in dryers and dehumidifiers then in a few days, came back and did the restoration. Kevin and Joe did an excellent job repairing the dry wall and floor tile, then painted both the bath and laundry rooms. Recommend Servpro of Reading the highest for any clean up and restoration work you may have! read more

I was told it would take 3 to 4 weeks to perform my entire job from demo/mold remediation to repair. I was told the demo would easily be scheduled near the end of the following week but it ended up being 2 weeks later than originally planned which took several phone calls and emails to even have scheduled. After the demo, I was told it would be 5 weeks until the repairs would be done. That day came and no one showed or even gave me a notice. Once again, I had to track down ServPro to find out what is going on. The next week they sent out a contractor that I was under the impression would be beginning the work but was informed by him that he was just there to assess the situation. He then informed me that he is 5 weeks out on repairs. This would bring me to week 14 of a job I was originally told would be done in 3 to 4 weeks. They came in, ripped apart my drywall and insulation on an exterior wall and expected me to wait 10 weeks for them to complete the repairs. Not once did anyone from ServPro offer an apology or take accountability for the severe delay in the work to be done. I emailed the manager to express my displeasure and followed up with a phone call to him the following day. This call ultimately ended with the manager taking it upon himself to terminate doing any further business. I believe they prefer to deal with insurance claim customers as when they visited for an estimate, I sensed a bit of disappointment when I informed them I would be paying out of pocket and not filing a claim. I have since hired a contractor to complete the work that ServPro walked away from. Upon further inspection, the mold they were supposed to remediate in my basement was not done properly as the wood is still soaking wet and they never even addressed or found the issue that caused the problem in the first place. So now not only am I paying someone to do the repairs ServPro was supposed to do but I am also paying someone to properly perform the demo by cutting additional drywall and identifying where the moisture is coming in so it can be corrected instead of throwing a band aid (cut out and replace drywall) on it like ServPro would have done and leave me with the same problem all over again a few weeks down the road. There are much better qualified and honest people out there that will serve you better than this poor excuse of a company. DisservPro would be a much more fitting name for this business. read more

This company was assigned from my insurance company to do the remediation work of removing the water damage from a pipe disconnection leak in my living room. They were very responsive and called me that night to set up an appointment for the next day. I spoke to Jeff I assume the technician that was going to come out and do the estimate and remediation work. I spoke to him that night and we set up an appointment for Friday at 3:00 I told him I would have to leave work early so I'm missing out on time at work and money to come home to meet him at 3:00 he originally wanted to meet me at 1:00 but I told him that's far too early to leave work best I can do is 3:00 which he had no issues with. So the next day I didn't hear from him all day which I thought was a little strange but I let it go I left work early got home at 3:10 still not having heard from him. So I called the office and they said he was at the office when he should have been at my house and then he told me that he couldn't do the job because of the mold issue that we were uncertain if there was mold in the first place. I stated to him well I took off work early to meet you what we agreed upon, which he then told me oh your insurance should have contacted you you haven't gotten any phone calls? I said no I haven't gotten any phone calls so then I called my insurance company which they were unaware that he refused to do the job basically for what he claimed was scheduling conflicts which was never communicated to me whatsoever the night before we agreed on 3:00 no problem and then he just basically never showed up so I missed work he lied to me and nothing's been done about it from this company. I told my insurance company assign another company for the work that needs to be done I refuse to work with Servpro. So if your insurance company tries to assign you Servpro of reading I would tell them I want a different company because the employees lie to you and set up appointments they don't keep. read more

Absolutely horrible!! It all started off well enough. They came and looked at the water damage to my home, removed damaged flooring and carpeting, and dried out the plywood base for the flooring. After that it all went down hill quickly. I had an appointment scheduled for them to come out and do the repair estimate for the insurance company, but the day of my appointment they contacted me to tell me that they had to reschedule my appointment so they could send their guy out to look at homes that had just called in because of hurricane Ida. Not seeming to care at all that I had been waiting a week for them to come out already, they pushed me back another week. The guy that came out to do the estimate was there on a Thursday and said he would have our estimate to the insurance company by Close of business on Friday, Monday at the latest. Wednesday of the following week came and we had still heard nothing. I called my insurance company to follow up with them and they still had not gotten the estimate. We contacted the Servpro and they claimed they didn't know what could be wrong, but by some miracle within an hour or so of contacting them their estimate came through to the insurance company. We then contacted them about meeting to discuss proceeding with the repairs and set an appointment time up with them from the options for times they said they had available. Two days later they send me an email stating that they would not be able to perform the repairs at my home. How incredibly unprofessional can you be? Not to mention leaving my home torn apart! I will never repeat the mistake of calling on these unreliable bozos again. Hopefully this will help others out there from making the same mistake. read more

STEER CLEAR...My insurance company considers them a "preferred provider" and sent them in. Their workers were rude and incompetent at best. It is a franchise so that I can only speak for this location. Their office personnel tried to tell me what the problem was without even visiting and then wanted me to sign for equipment that would not even fit in the room. They "wanted the drying out to take 3 days and bill my insurance company accordingly and it took less than 24 hours. We are still waiting for a call back from the franchisee and the woman in the office was downright RUDE to my wife when she called today. We have been waiting to here from him since last Friday. I guess he just thinks we are a one-time customer who will not "spread the word" about how they treat customers read more
