I was referred to him for an urgent consultation by Dr. DeMarco following an epidural injection. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Blam was deeply disappointing. He entered the room abruptly and defensively asked, "Why are you here?" because he had already read my MRI report. When we explained the referral to discuss a treatment plan for my herniated disc, he was dismissive and interrupted us, stating he could do nothing if we were seeking surgery. He then made a blanket assumption about my insurance, claiming Aetna would not cover surgery, without even knowing my specific policy details. While I have had excellent experiences within this practice with Dr. Adams, Dr. DeMarco, and Amy Holloway, Dr. Blam's rude, disrespectful demeanor left my husband and me completely stunned. I will not return to him and cannot recommend his care.

Dr. Mathur was very kind. He listened to my mother's issues, did a thorough examination and recommend an in office X-ray and a MRI. This visit was on 2/17. In that visit he said that he would reach out with the MRI results. The MRI was done on 2/18 and the results were available via the Advanced Radiology website on 2/20. I expected to hear from the doctor no later than Monday. I sent a portal message on 2/19 to make sure the doctor's office contacted me directly. When I didn't hear back, I called the office on 2/25, and I was told there was no portal message (even though I was looking at it). I was informed that it may have gone to the incorrect department. Why a practice wouldn't forward my message to the correct department I cannot say... I guess it "wasn't their job". We all know that excuse provided regularly by the younger generation. I was told on that phone call, that the doctor would call. It is now 2/27 and still no call. So, I went into the portal again to send another message and noticed that I could see the chart note. I saw at the end of the note "follow up in 1 week for MRI results". First of all, the doctor said he would call. Second, when I was on the phone with the office on 2/25, why didn't she tell me that I needed to schedule an appointment? I work for a group of Rheumatologists and we would never simply ignore a patient, nor would we ask them to come back for results. I can read the results on the Radiology report. What I would expect is a phone call with a treatment plan and then schedule the appointment to begin treatment. I am going to move forward with a different orthopedic practice. Before I experienced the above, based on my initial experience, I recommended Dr. Mathur to an elderly work associate with a severe back issue. She got the run around as well, so clearly, this is the standard of patient care that Potomac Valley Orthopedic feels is acceptable.

It's an hour past our appointment time and we are still waiting on the doctor. Very unprofessionalread more

I was in the lobby, since I arrived early, and I heard him talking with an elderly lady about her treatment plan. His kind tone, patience, and warmth in his voice as he spoke to her about her situation was incredible. He was so respectful and was mapping out what she needed to do with her other doctors to make sure everyone was on the same page. It was heart warming. I first needed to go to Dr Raj for my right shoulder. Within a month of PT my shoulder was back to normal. Then I lifted something that was very light and tweaked it, so back to Dr. Raj. Withing 2 weeks it was fixed and I haven't had any issues since then. Then the right hip started acting up so started the process with Dr. Raj. It's been a few weeks and it is starting to feel better and the limp is almost gone. I still have work to do on my hip, but I know Dr. Raj will get me back to my normal hip health soon.

During the first visit Raj assessed the problem, explained in detail his findings and his recommendations (which he shared with my doctor too). After several visits, the pain was gone. He continued then with methods that helped me gain strength to prevent future injuries and helped me regain normal range of movement. He used tools and methods that helped me during sessions, but also taught me how to replicate them at home. I am very thankful for his professional help and his caring personality.

If you enjoy waiting a couple hours before seeing a doctor then this is the place for you. Everytime I came in here it's been an utter slog of a wait (and yes, I'm taking into account wait times at your typical doctors office. The technician that came to see and take notes had an awful attitude and on top of that, completely forgot to put up the X-ray sign on my door so I ended up waiting about an hour for nothing until my doctor came in and realized the fuck up. So then I had to get an X-ray, THEN wait another while before the doctor came to see me again. Thankfully she had good bedside manners, because everyone else there can syc If you're looking for a decent orthopedic clinic, I suggest going to John's Hopkins on the second floor, same building. Sethi and January and he was convinced it was my back period sent me to an MRI for it told me that I need to get a shot. Send me to a pain management, pain management doctor advised me was not my back it was my hip got a MRI for my hip. Dr. Says he then sent me back to dr. Soudan to get an injection in my hip. The pain management for did not want to do the injection because he said I have fractures and torn labrum and bone spurs and was confident that it will not relieve my pain, budget the shot anyways her doctor said these orders. Advise dr. Sethi that I was still in pain and still hurt to rotate my leg he referred me to Charles Mess jr. I met with the doctor over 3 times didn't multiple MRIs for him to send me to an oncologist. He sent me to an oncologist without a referral and explanation. Oncologist season 2 was over an hour away and when I went to see him the ecologist was shocked and surprised that I was even there because there was no reason for me to actually be there. Dr. Charles Mess has never even done a blood test on me and advise me that blood test will not even show if I have cancer or not. To make a long story short send to Dr at least 8 times within 2 months and the doctors never had a plan for me,just kept referring me out and running tons mris and set up my insurance. Have made formal complaints to their office manager and was told sorry and good luck to you. It's to the point now that I'm believing to hire a lawyer because I believe they're committing some sort of fraud. I have made formal complaints as well to United Healthcare choice plus plan. Warning do not go find a reputable highly praise office. I wish I would have read Yelp and other reviews before I even considered this office. You just an FYI my diagnosis with my second opinion was done in 30 minutes is Fai torn labrum such spurs and a pelvis fracture period and my doctor said a plan that same visit. Just shaking my head at such poor service

Following an aquatic therapy session, I experienced a fall shortly after leaving the clinic due to instability. There was no reassessment of my ability to walk safely before I was discharged from treatment that day. This never happened after any of the other appointments either, although having shown MRI findings to the therapist of ligament injuries in my ankle being treated. After being medically cleared to resume therapy today after a week off, I called today to schedule a new appointment. During that call, the receptionist and a physical therapy assistant were rude, dismissive, and confrontational. I was told that I would not be allowed to continue therapy unless I paid a $40 cancellation/no-show fee related to a same-day appointment that had been scheduled immediately after my fall. That appointment was scheduled less than two hours out, while I was injured. At the time, I stated that I would try to attend, but that my ability to do so depended on whether I could walk safely. I ultimately could not ambulate safely and did not attend. Despite this, payment of the fee is now being required as a condition of continuing care. Being spoken to rudely and pressured for payment in order to access medically necessary therapy, particularly after a treatment-related injury, was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this clinic to patients who need clear communication, reasonable accommodations, or patient-centered care--especially following an injury. A formal complaint was also filed today to their corporate office.
