Came with a larger party to Settler's, and I was impressed that they were able to get us in and out within an hour even though they were on the busier side. Solid chicken tender sub and mac and cheese. My husband and I had to wait a little for these to come out even though everyone else's had hit the table, but we didn't mind since they were clearly being made fresh. Our waitress was friendly. Good stop for breakfast or lunch, and it was cool that they had a whole ice cream counter. read more

It was breakfast time so I opted for eggs with Souvlaki chicken & hasbtowns. All were good, tho' I learned I don't care for spinach in my eggs...luv spinach normally, but I guess just not with eggs! Philly cheese sandwich special was nice, albeit small for $~12. French toast was reportedly awesome, and fries above average. They also have good ice cream and dessert options. This restaurant has a huge menu with something for everyone. I ordered the chicken cranberry wrap and it was plentiful and good. I also had the tater tots. I loved the little fryer basket that they were served in. My husband had a breakfast croissant and hash browns. There was a ton of hashbrowns and he couldn't eat them all. The service was quick and the restaurant was quiet so you could carry on a dinner conversation. We will definitely come back if we are in the area. read more

My wife put me on to this nice diner 15 years ago,I usually come here for breakfast ,it's a first come/serve type of thing,it can get crowded within a few minutes anyways I always appreciate the hospitality and a helpful staff, I like the pancakes but every now and then I get my usual cheese eggs ,rye toasted bread and piece of chicken (I haven't eaten beef or pork 20 + years). I recommend this place for breakfast if you're in Batavia my reason for them not receiving 5 stars cause they don't have NO turkey sausage but besides that it's good for breakfast!! read more

I have the opportunity to meet up with a friend for breakfast at Settler's about 6 times a year. This place is always busy! We typically arrive around 8:00-8:30 and have no trouble getting a table. We enjoy the bottomless cup of coffee. The food is always delicious (typically omlettes for us) and plentiful. The menu offers many options and the prices are fair. The wait staff is friendly, efficient, and responsive. We will continue to make this our meeting spot as long as we can! read more

Large menu, homemade desserts, and long booths. This spot screams classic diner. There is something for everyone. I went here with my boss and colleagues. We all have very different tastes and diets. I couldn't decide between breakfast and lunch, so I found the Greek souvlaki breakfast platter to be a perfect choice. It has eggs, chicken, home fries and toast; plenty of protein. The downside was the tzatziki was far from the real thing and the potatoes were cold. Unfortunately the service was a bit harsh, hence the lower rating. "Settle down, an eat your peas and gravy, my boy Settle down, settle down my boy settle down" (Men At Work) Settler's was a solid traditional diner that really came in handy on our long rainy drive to Toronto. They have a very deep menu of pretty much anything you might think of, including 24-hour breakfast choices. We weren't super hungry, so we both went to their sandwich menu -Ham and Cheese with chips and pickles ($7.49) and a Zwiegel's Red Hot also with chips and pickles ($5.99). I added a cup of their Cream of Cauliflower soup ($2,99) and a Diet Pepsi (a hefty $3.49). The Cauliflower Soup was excellent- not too thick or rich -actually on the "light" side for a cream soup. I was kind of dissapointed with the Red Hot, it sure seemed on the bland side and I wonder if it a regular hot dog was cooked and served to me in error? Oh well, I was hungry and didn't make a big deal out of it. And I definitely felt ripped off over a very piggish $3.49 for a soft drink. Not sure we would come back, we were kind of hustled out of there with a check while we were still eating. read more

Settler's is a true diner experience but boy, is the food good. This will please all ages from kids to seniors. The staff was nice and you pay up front like a real diner. The home fries are so greek its an explosion of oregano and its perfect. The guy who owns it is on the menu with a greek last name so that adds up! read more

A very nice family restaurant. They had large portions which were very tasty. The baklava cheesecake for dessert was excellent.

Came here with a friend for lunch after running some errands in Batavia and had a pleasant but mediocre experience. The food and service weren't exactly bad but both left much room for improvement. The avgolemono soup had noodles instead of rice which I've never seen before but it was good. The meat on my French Dip where the sandwich was cut was dry and crusty as if it had been premade and sitting exposed to the air for a long time. The au jus was not warm enough but did have good flavor. The onion rings tasted good but were room temperature. And my first cup of coffee had to be replaced because it tasted like pepper. I think the cup might not have been completely clean. The service was a little slow and at one point the server forgot altogether to bring me the coffee refill they promised. But they were polite and courteous and so was the person at the register so I'll give them points for that. Like I said it wasn't a bad experience but I don't know if I'd go there again. Seriously, the homefries are the best I"ve every had. I don't know what they do to those potatoes, but I actually got a take out container to take the rest home. my western sandwich tasted like I made it myself. I have been here three times now and have not been disappointed. Fast, friendly service with tasty, affordable home cooking! I've been there for both breakfast and lunch. The Italian bread I got for toast was thick cut, fresh and SO good! A friend of mine got pancakes with walnuts and bananas... She said they were amazing. Another dish that was eaten was a chicken parm sandwich with sweet potato tots (yes, I said sweet potato). There was a good amount of chicken to roll ratio. If you live in the area, close by or are just passing through, I would suggest you give them a try. Oh, also, they have a great looking dessert case full of goodies. I have yet to try any as I've always been too full from my meal, but they certainly look like winning desserts! read more

So we were looking for a good breakfast place for a Sunday Morning. We looked in the Batavia area and what drew us to this place was that it was a Red Barn years ago and the outside still looks like a barn. They have a lot a options for breakfast and we both chose a southern style food. I had the omelet and hubby had a Eggs Benedict. Both portions were quite large. I couldn't finish the omelet. It was the length of the plate and the the potatoes filled the other side. My husband had just as many potatoes and 2 bisquits loaded. The potatoes were so good, some spice and a little bit of onion. Our food came out quickly and nice and hot. May have to come back for a lunch or dinner. read more

Whether it is a breakfast, a salad or some daily special comfort food casserole, meals are excellent, decent sized and reasonably priced. Our last visit was extra special as I noticed they had Spumoni on their ice cream flavor list! You can't find that anywhere nowadays, not in any store or ice cream stand. Arbordale Patios and ponds. If I could offer 7 stars I would. What outstanding service! John built our pond 4 years ago and his staff came back again to reopen it this week. Spectacular! It looks like Brand new. They rebuilt each and every stone, literally placed each piece of gravel back in place. I asked: can you put those solar spots wherever...? And they buried the wires and reset the lights so they're nearly invisible! This pond gives us such a sense of tranquility. Thank you!! read more

At first I was happy the restaurant was not too crowded during the noon lunch rush but....I should have taken that as a sign that things had changed and high tailed it in the other direction. I was really looking forward to the biscuits and gravy, and was willing to shell out the 11.00 charged for it, added a couple of scrambled eggs, without realizing that would be 5 dollars more and with an orange juice, 3.50 ish, with tax put a late breakfast for one at over 20.00, and....sooooo too bad cause not I'm not going back cause the gravy was lukewarm! My friend had a breakfast sandwich with home fries, that had been around the block a few times; and landed just slightly warm, while the Sammy was hot, so no consistency and, also totaling out with an added soda to 20.00. left a six dollar tip cause it wasn't the servers fault, but..... not doing another 46. dollar breakfast that isn't even served hot. read more
