Not pleased with the dental hygienists and front desk clerk. It appears that if you don't have perfect teeth, they don't want you as a patient. The front desk would not make a future appointment unless seen by an orthodontist. The recommended ortho wanted $12,000 to do some procedure diagnosed within a few minutes and with an out of order xray machine. Now the dentist office will not set up a visit yet they continue to text reminders to set up an appointment. Perhaps the doctor doesn't know what his staff is doing. read more

I was going to this dental practice when Dr. Sevan took over several years ago. He does quality work and has a "less is more" philosophy in that he only does work that is required. Many corporate owned dental groups are driven by the dollars and do work that is unnecessary. That is not the case with Oak Family Dental. They have integrity which is hard to find these days. I paid out of pocket for a lower denture. After 4 subsequent visits to adjust them, they are still uncomfortable when I am not eating and extremely painful to attempt to chew anything that I can't eat without them. I understand that caution needs to be taken to not remove too much material. I am being repeatedly told that they don't mind making as many adjustments as neccessary, but I do mind!! I can't continue to take time off work to make endless adjustments. I am completely disappointed with how it fits and have lost confidence they will ever be able to fix the problem. read more

My anxiety over the dentist is extreme. I was so nervous to call and set some appointments up but knew if I didn't go in and fix minor things, I'd eventually have to go in for major work. I emailed Oak Family Dental and a few days later, their receptionist, Krisanne, called me. I immediately started crying on the phone with her and she was so warm, gentle, and really sympathetic. I was so embarrassed over my initial reaction, but she was caring and helped me set up a consultation that would fit my work schedule. The day of my appointment I was a crying wreck. I could barely speak to Krisanne upon entering and met Dr, Yergatian in passing and he saw how anxious I was. Both were incredibly patient with me. The Dental Hygienist, Tara, was the same way! She kept me so calm in the chair, and got to know my medical history as well as my Personal life. She went out of her way to make me relaxed and kept telling me I was in charge of when I needed a break. When it came time to my consulation, Dr, Yergatian was informative, told me exactly what he was doing, gentle, and truly so accommodating. I had a brown spot on one of my teeth that prevented me from smiling, and the doctor polished it off on the spot! Once he heard of that detail, he right away fixed it for me and made it clear they do not do unnecessary work. All in all, this place is cozy, respectful, and accommodating both on the financial side and on the anxiety side. I now have a cleaning set up in a few weeks and am actually looking forward to it! I am a new patient to Oak Family Dental and to Dr. Sevan. I am so pleased with the way I have been treated before even entering the dental office. From getting my insurance and appointment set up over the phone with Jodi and to coming in for my first visit. Dr. Sevan is gentle, caring, and funny. I am not very fond of dental visits in general, but Dr. Sevan and his entire staff have made me feel so welcomed. They all deliver attentive one on one care. They remember all their patients personally, and take such good care of anyone who walks through those doors. Dr. Sevan truly cares for his patients and it shows, he goes out of his way to make sure I am not in any pain and is very observant of my facial expressions. I'm a huge baby at the dentists and he really cares enough to take his time rather than get frustrated with me. Having your teeth worked on and the dealing with the after math is never fun. But I have to say I come in without hesitation or fear and despite him telling me I may feel sensitivity on my teeth for a few days after I have had no such thing happen.
