I like the interior of this restaurant. It shows the rustic, nature feel of the area and yet classy. This is located within the hotel/resort. Our server was good, fast and friendly! Came here after a team building activity within the area (glass blowing). I ordered the fish and chips which I think is good. Very large serving! It's good for 2 to 3 people. I didn't get to take pictures of my colleagues' food, too hungry to take photos

We had a lovely, delicious dinner here after a day in Yosemite. The food was awesome, staff were super nice, and the tavern/grounds were beautiful and comfortable. We especially loved the kale and farro salad. Came on a Thursday evening in May at 6:30 pm and were seated for a table of 4 with no wait. The tavern is part of a hotel, so you need to walk to the side of the hotel, by the pool, to reach the restaurant. Ample free parking in the lot in front. A bit pricey but worth it!

We ate at the Tavern at Firefall Ranch throughout our stay, from breakfast through dinner, and overall had a great experience. The menu is thoughtfully put together and consistently well executed. Breakfast was good, though I did wish there were a few heartier options--something like biscuits and gravy would have been a welcome addition. After a few days, the main drawback we noticed was the limited variety; during a relatively short stay, we were able to try most of what was on the menu. That said, the quality more than makes up for it. While some people mention the price, the creativity, presentation, and attention to detail felt justified. The smoked salmon with caviar was a standout, and the burger was a solid, satisfying choice. Dinner is where this place really shines. In hindsight, we wish we had eaten more dinners here. My wife ordered the vegan lasagna, and the fact that this is even offered--and done exceptionally well--earns high marks on its own. It's rare to find vegan options that go beyond an afterthought, and this one genuinely impressed us. Overall, a strong dining experience that prioritizes quality and thoughtful execution, with just a bit more variety making it even better.

Killer spot just 15 mile East of the Yosemite gate. Great food, very hospitable, and fantastic view. Attentive hosts and more seating than expected for a late-March Friday. Tasty charcuterie board accompanied by well-made cocktails in a locale that is hard to beat. Definitely worth a visit!

The plates are beautiful. Art. Service is top notch. Food - unfortunately left something to be desired but I'm sure they can get better at it. Server took my feedback positively and said they are already working on it.

Jay and Kristen are amazing! We love it here and want to come back with a group to try all the activities!

While I loved my stay at Firefall Ranch, my experience at The Tavern was not as positive. I stopped in for lunch and attempted to stop in for breakfast. The restaurant has a very limited menu. I usually don't mind that as it can mean that the dishes are usually well executed. During my lunch experience on 10/3/25, I ordered the Buffalo Mozzerella sandwich and my friend ordered the beef on weck sandwich. The service, while prompt, was not especially warm or friendly. The Buffalo Mozzerella sandwich was just ok. The focaccia that it was served on was not sturdy enough to support the amount of mozzerella served and quickly fell apart. I ate majority of it with a fork. I will say that the fries that came with the sandwich were delicious! I also attempted to stop by for breakfast the next day on 10/4/25. When my friend and I arrived, the restaurant was not busy at all. There were 3 tables seated. So my friend and I waited at the host stand to be greeted. The restaurant was clearly understaffed, even for the minimal customers that were present. As we stood at the host stand, multiple employees walked past and none greeted us or smiled. I have no idea who the host was and we were never asked our name or amount of people in our party despite standing at the host stand for 5 minutes. We left and went to the cafe/bakery across the street. Overall, I think I'd plan ahead for other food options before coming here.

We ate here multiple times during our stay, and overall, enjoyed our experiences. Most of the employees here were friendly and helpful. They have a full bar with a good variety of beer on tap. The food here was fine for lunch and dinner, and fantastic for breakfast. A bit pricey, but understandable since it's at the resort.

Food was solid nothing crazy but alright price wasn't ridiculous. Decent ambience and friendly staff.

Spectacular!! as a foodie on vacation I find it hard to try the same restaurant more than once. In this case, I find it hard to go anywhere other than the Taber fireball Ranch. This place is simply delightful. The burgers are awesome, the steaks on the menu are both great order with the side of the seasonal grilled veggies. The vegan hash for breakfast with poached eggs and chicken sausage are unreal. The service is great, although slow at times. Their signature cocktail, s'mores, is not to be missed. Rustic and clean atmosphere add to your dining experience with a great bar and plenty of television televisions to watch sports or cartoons for the kids. There is something for everybody with local fresh ingredients. I love this place!!

Stayed three nights at Firefall Ranch and enjoyed breakfast and dinner at the Tavern. Food was a bit pricey but expected for a resort. Breakfast pancakes were thick, fluffy, and topped with powdered sugar--delicious! The fried potatoes were perfectly crispy. Dinner started with tasty focaccia and three flavorful dips (anchovies, olives, garlic). The corn steaks were great, my husband loved his minestrone, and the cabbage steak with parsnips and foraged mushrooms was surprisingly delicious. For dinner, we sat near the bar, where a lively group added to the fun atmosphere. The modern, stylish setting made for a great getaway. Would definitely return!

The tavern was a recommendation from a Groveland local. It was as delicious as we were told. The Brussel sprouts were very nutty with the pistachios. A nice touch to these sprouts. The Mac and cheese is a definite must try. This is not your childhood Mac and cheese. The service is excellent. The tavern is open and airy. It is a nicely decorated modern bar. Try their Valentine's special cocktails. The Love Bug was the recommended one. Great food, service and ambiance.

What a hidden gem!…read more While everyone is rushing to the oldest salon across the street, this nice restaurant at the first floor of the hotel is relatively empty and we were quick to snatch our table for a Friday dinner. Service was a bit slow but pleasant, totally a small town ambiance without the rush. The decoration was cozy with a full size bar and you see the hotel's front desk lounge from across. The menu is amazing with good quality and reasonable prices! Their top 2 dishes are the Little Rooster and the Wine & Bone Ossobuco. The Little Rooster was beautifully stacked on in layers of pistachio-crusted chicken breast seared in EVOO with prosciutto, mozzarella, over creamy red potato mash and topped with apple vinaigrette salad. The taste was so complex and the chicken was so juicy that I couldn't believe it's the chicken breast. The prosciutto in the middle came as a nice surprise (I did not read the menu but was captivated by the dish when a waiter was delivering it to another table) and the portion and taste puts it well above the price tag of $25. I was so elated biting into it. The Wine & Bone Ossobuco in contrast is slightly less satisfying as the meat portion was smaller than what I used to get, but we are paying $30 here vs $45 in the Bay Area. The taste is consistent to what a wine braised ossobuco is. We also tried the wagyu burger that came with a red looking sauce that I thought was spicy but it was actually sweet and sour and had a good balance for the burger patty. The personal size salad was also good in taste and size. Overall we couldn't stop talking about the food for our entire weekend trip to Yosemite. It looks like they have an extensive beer, wine and cocktail menu as well. I strongly recommend this place!

Not anymore. The CALAMARI ($22) appetizer was rubbery and cold; we only ate half. The sauce was very tasty but not plentiful. The PORK FRITES ($42) was extremely fatty and once again there was hardly any sauce. The TUSCAN CHICKEN ($38) was a thinly sliced piece of non-marinated, dry chicken with absolutely no extra sauce - just dry chicken. The Pappardelle pasta was stuck together like glue and again no extra sauce. I won't even go into the other entrees and deserts we had. Suffice to say the prices do not reflect the quality of food. They need to get a new cook and rethink their menu. Until then we will never go back nor will we recommend it to anyone. Shame on the management for ruining a once upscale restaurant.

This was our fourth visit, and every single one has been a five-star experience. Our server, Dusty, was outstanding. This was the second time we've had him, and he remembered us from our previous visit--including what we ordered. That level of attention to detail and genuine hospitality is rare. He was friendly, professional, attentive without hovering, and truly helped make our anniversary dinner memorable. Dusty is one of the best servers we've had anywhere. The food was exceptional from start to finish. The medium-rare filet mignon was cooked perfectly and was one of the best steaks we've had. The garlic mashed potatoes were absolutely phenomenal, the loaded baked potato was excellent, and the Brussels sprouts were perfectly prepared. One of the most thoughtful touches came from the chef. Since we brought a bottle of our own wine, they served a bread basket with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and beautifully wrote a special anniversary message in the balsamic. It was a small detail that made the evening feel even more personal. To finish the night, we enjoyed dessert out on the terrace by the fire table overlooking the beautiful view. The tiramisu-style dessert was outstanding, and the "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate was another thoughtful touch that made the evening feel truly special. We also want to recognize Mary, the manager. She took the time to come by our table, introduce herself, and personally wish us a happy anniversary. It's obvious she's doing an outstanding job leading her team because every visit has been consistently excellent. We also appreciate The Perch's dress code. It helps create an upscale, classy atmosphere that makes dining there feel like a special occasion every time. If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience in Amador County, The Perch delivers. Outstanding food, impeccable service, thoughtful attention to detail, and an atmosphere that's hard to beat. Congratulations to Mary, Dusty, the chef, and the entire team.
