This is an otherwise good place to eat and dance when they have a good band, but so many of the parking spots are crazy tiny. I've noticed a very few normal size spaces which everybody understandably wants including those that drive smaller cars. Overnight parking spots on the side are even small. Many of the parking spaces seem designed for large motorcycles. Trying to park a Toyoto van in one spot is not likely if you want to get in an out of it. It is disrespectful to customers and ought to be illegal to deceptively include door and fender damage as part of a customer's experience. read more

Went here last Friday for a co-worker's b-day celebration, nice outdoor area, nice landscaped patio- service, not so nice. We had to keep going inside to ask the bartender to send out service meanwhile the table right NEXT to us was being attended to constantly. Our server in fact acted like we were cutting in to HER fun by having the *gasp* audacity to ask for drinks. She "forgot" a few of our drinks, by the time we got some of our appetizers the cheese on the potato's was congealed and greasy, her attitude was emberassing towards us and did I mention we were a bunch of multi-ethnic people and also work for law enforcement?? YEAH. To top the night off, a few servers (including, YES, ours) went to the favored table next to us (a bunch of blonde people) and stated, "I hear it's someone's birthday!" as they brought a dessert with candles a-glow and they heartily sang "Happy Birthday" to them. We had to do with standing up, holding hands and sang happy birthday for our friend. I've NEVER been so insulted or felt so discriminated against- did I mention our server (chunky, tall, short-haired brunette lady) gave us the evil stink-eye everytime we ordered a drink?? Go here? OK so I am angry. I order from here once a week to go and occasionally go in for food. We order full dinners and the large, very good, clam chowder. Usually I order with mine the baked potato and ALWAYS remind them to put in the sour cream and butter. They NEVER remember. I come to get it and ask " did you remember the sour cream?" Of course they answer and then check and then get on their little intercom and say bring some sour cream out to the front. I sit and wait while the dinner gets cold. How hard is it to make it standard to add sour cream to all orders to go with a baked potato? Yesterdays dinner was $65.00 including their mandatory 10% gratuity. I discovered Severino's just under a year ago and I love it! I live in San Jose but seem to find my way to Severino's one to three times a month, about a 40 minute drive over the hill. Almost everything on the menu is excellent and there is a price point for every budget, from the appetizers to the complete dinners. The selection is so varied that I sometimes have a difficult time deciding what to order. I highly recommend the Alaskan Cod sandwich, $12 which comes with a choice of fries, house salad or fresh fruit and adding a cup of the best Clam Chowder I've ever tasted is only $2.50. The Chowder is a must try! Another item to try is the Porter House Pork Chop, a 10 oz chop, charbroiled with mango chutney sauce $15 which includes house salad and vegetables with choice of rice, pasta, potatoes au gratin, fries or baked potato after 5pm. Every Baked Potato I've had here was cooked to perfection. There are great chicken and pasta dishes on the menu and if you're a meat and potato's person there are options from $12 for a Tri Tip sandwich to $30 for a New York Steak Dinner. Slow Roasted Angus Prime Rib of Beef $30 is available on Friday and Saturday nights. If you're looking for a quick bite you can't go wrong ordering an appetizer, a burger or any of the other sandwiches on the menu, My lady's favorite is the Tuna Melt,$10, she says it is the best ever. It must be because it's usually what she orders. The only item on the menu I do not recommend is the Fish and Chips. I've eaten that twice here, a first time and... a last time!... both in the same meal. I won't dwell on it except to say it was hands down the worst Fish and Chips I ever ate. They have really good live music in the bar most weekends, check the calendar on their website for who's playing. The bar has a good selection of beers sans those pretentious "Craft Beers" and the wine list is extensive. At the bar, whether you like your libation neat or mixed, the pour is generous, add free WiFi and what more could you ask for? Maybe big screen TV's to watch your game of choice... they have those too! Service here is top notch! Two of the waitresses, Kim and Laura, have provided such good service that I've asked for their names so I can request to be seated in their area. Even when Kim or Laura are not working the service is above par! The manager is present and visible but lets his staff do their jobs without interference occasionally helping here and there. Bottom Line: Severino's is a well run establishment that deserves your business! read more

On Tuesday nights Severino's has everything 1/2 off...except a few items on the menu. Great idea as it brings in alot of people. However, they add 18% gratuity without telling you. The service was terrible. When I asked the waitress why 18% was added she stated "because we aren't getting tipped very much with the 1/2 half". Really now!!!! I told her if wait staff was going to automatticaly be getting 18% then they needed earn the 18% by providing great service. I am a big tipper, 20% if I get good service but don't force me to pay 18%, appetizers and drinks for 2, for poor service. read more

My husband, our son, a friend & I went on Christmas Day. To be honest, when we first saw the buffet tables, we were a little disappointed. We had expected more of a variety of foods for the price. However, once we started eating, we realized that we were mistaken. Although the quantity was not there, the QUALITY was definitely there! Went for their Thanksgiving dinner buffet. They were packed but the service was pretty good, and we were seated right at our reservation time. As they only serve buffet style a couple times a year, we didn't expect perfection, but the lines were long, and there wasn't as much of a selection as we would have liked. Having said that, the food, less the very dry mashed potatoes and over use of garlic in the fresh veggies, was decent. The desert table was exceptionally good, and with a good variety. After searching many restaurants in the Aptos area, my husband selected Severino's for my birthday brunch. Because of the size of our group, other restaurants would either refuse or placed restrictions that did not fit into his plans. The hostess was most accommodating and we dined there several times to sample different menu items before selecting the required 6 items for our group menu. Each item we selected, based upon sampling at a prior dinner, was far superior at that tasting than what was served that day. My entree was swimming in grease. So disappointed. In all, I was embarrassed that my family/friends ate such inferior food. Almost failed to mention the service, or lack of. Our food server kept disappearing, when it came time for ordering or re-ordering drinks, my husband had to find someone to handle the order. Hadn't been here in a while, not since the new menu, so I was hopeful it was better than before. I had a Seacliff Spinach Salad with grilled salmon and it was "just OK." Salmon was a bit overdone, not seasoned, and not my vision of "grilled". On the upside, they were generous with the candied walnuts/toppings. With just 4 of us at the table, you'd expect the server to remember who ordered what when the food came out - she did not. Weaksauce. Had to send back our Prime Rib. Super tough, like meat was previously frozen and not cooked long enough. I was really looking forward. Waitress was very nice and understanding. Hated sending our prime rib back but for $27 with a scoop of veggies and a tiny baked potato we had to send the prime rib back. The second one was okay. Waitress suggested we request Medium rare. We have alway ordered medium prime rib at other places. This was the first time our medium was so tough. We will eat here again but don't think we will order the Prime Rib again. read more

Our service was so impressive I had to let someone know. Danny is probably the best server there. We have eaten there several times in the past and he is the best by far. It's hard to find good service these days no matter where you go. If you do ask for Danny it was a pleasure. One of my favorite restaurants in the Aptos area, it's expensive, but the food is very high quality, and comes in good portions. Most Friday nights they feature bands at the bar, usually jazz. No cover charge, just walk in, have a drink, relax, and dance if you want to. If you want a more quiet evening you can eat in the restaurant, or outdoors. Disappointed. This used to be the place to go for a nice lunch or dinner. In the past it has always been an exceptional experience but today the service and food was just so-so. The waitress was very nice but obviously new to waitressing. There were two bus-persons working, but neither of them assisted in our section? Had to ask for water twice. Drinks were slow too deliver. Dishes piled up on the table. And it was not busy. When the waitress came with our entrees the previous salad/ soup bowls had not been cleared. Again what were those bus-persons doing? We ignored the newness of the waitress. She was so pleasant, but in a place like this I would have expected someone a little more trained. It was was the food that has me giving only 2 stars. The greens in the salads were tough and bitter- no one finished the salad. The soup - calm chowder - ugh! The salmon on the special of the day was good but not wow, but everything else on the plate, meh. DO NOT order the ribs unless you like tasteless tough meat with sauce on top. I guess when I am paying 15-25 a plate for lunch. I expect that invisible bus person to fill my water, clear my dishes so my waitress can deliver all the entrees at once. I expect the wait person to offer the wine list whether I want it or not. To know the specials of the day in detail - what type of, sauce how prepared etc... We have eaten both lunch and dinner at Severino's for many years and have never had a bad experience. The food and service are both excellent. The menu offers a wide range of reasonably priced choices from macaroni and cheese (one of my favorites) to sandwiches to full dinners. The turkey club sandwich and and prime rib are especially delicious. Usually, when I order these items at other restaurants, there is really no comparison to what I am served at Severino's. This restaurant also offers wonderful buffets on holidays such as Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. We often take advantage of these since we have no family on the west coast. read more

My husband and I stay at the Best Western Seacliff Inn when we travel to the Aptos area every few months. We have been staying there for many years and we usually eat several of our meals at Severino's Bar & Grill and have always been very satisfied with the food and service. We especially enjoy dining on the patio by the Koi pond. Nice ambiance. With the exception of a wedding or anniversary party, the Saturday night crowd is mostly seniors. But it makes it interesting for people watching and after a few cocktails you just get out on the dance floor and join them! I would recommend Severino's anytime. read more
