    Catch of the day- Snapper

This was a great place! So glad we found this gem. The food was really decent and the price was surprising! We did the early night specials from 3:30 to 5:30. Nice dinners for a more than fair price. This was a small restaurant that seemed to be filled with locals. I was happy to get away from the crowds.

The place is laid out very well so the tables aren't so close together. The staff was nice and the food came out pretty quick. The burger was really good and so were the onion rings. The fries were great. They had that double fried crunch on the outside. Would definitely come back.

My husband and I visited Empire Grille (Felton, CA) after hiking in Henry Cowell State Park. (07.25.2024). The restaurant is unpretentious, and it seemed that there were mostly locals at the tables and at the bar area, with a few obvious tourists or visitors from Henry Cowell. The restaurant advertises that they serve hearty comfort foods and offer a full bar. The restaurant was moderately busy, but we were greeted and seated quickly. We chose to dine indoors although outdoor seating was available. As we usually do, we split our entrees. My husband ordered the American Cheeseburger ($10.95, rating: 4/5), which is made from 100% ground chuck, with American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and mayonnaise on a toasted sesame bun. The burger was served with crispy French fries. (5/5). The burger was cooked perfectly, and was tasty. A slight reduction in the rating because the burger was overwhelmed by the much larger bun. My entree was the Asian Chicken Salad ($15.95. Rating: 4/5). The salad was advertised as having "crispy greens, mandarin oranges, roasted cashews, ginger sesame dressing, Thai chicken, and crispy chow mein noodles." The salad was also very good, as was the serving size. It would've been better with more greens. Additionally, it was light on cashews and the chow mein noodles, but I did enjoy the addition of cucumbers and sesame seeds that weren't advertised on the description. Service was good. We especially appreciated that the waitress regularly replenished our waters. We were very thirsty after having been hiking in the sun. Thumbs down. There was an undisclosed, automatic add-on "credit card processing fee" on our bill. (Rating: 0/5). While minimal in amount, this is a deceptive and disturbing business practice.

Crab and shrimp salad. Had tons of meat

Solid diner. The salad was great. Didn't hold back on crab meat and shrimp. the fries were great. The Ruben was fine and the tuna melt wasn't great. This is one of those situations where it might have been the wrong choice and if we chose something other then the tuna melt my rating would be higher. That being said the server wasn't helpful. A quick "are you ready to order, no ok let me know when you are" situation then gone. Then small talk when the bill is dropped as a way to say "ok I did my job" overall I think this place lands in the good not great category.

Excellent food . We have crabs and bay shrimp Louie salad, deep fried calamari steak and beer . The crab meat and shrimp are so fresh , lots of different types of vegetables. The salad is good size and very fresh ingredients. Good price too . The calamari steak was fried for too long . It tasted like rubber and we gave up after one piece . I think the coconut prawn would be better choice . They have special price for happy hour starting at 2 pm .

Had the chicken fried steak. Best I ever had

Good menu, great food, reasonable prices and very friendly service. Ate outside and the waitress even offered to get my dog some water. Definitely my go to spot in Felton

Something that historically great chicken bacon avocado sandwich never disappoints - only available during lunch though.

I don't like to use superlatives like "the best" loosely, but these might be the best smash burgers we've ever had. *Fries were also bomb af, and perfectly seasoned. *Fresh beers next door at Humble Sea Tavern The Meh: *A little pricey for a burger and fries, but jfc, it's delicious and worth every penny. *Limited menu and certain items are only available for dinner. Not to mention they're a very small kitchen, so they do sell out. *Not the best place if you're a vegan or vegetarian, as the options will be extremely limited. I personally don't care, but just throwing it out there jic. The Ugly: * We tried visiting here once before but got scared off by the signage in the parking lot that states something to the effect of "Parking for Wild Roots Market and the Cremer House." Well, we had no idea what the "Cremer House" was, so we got scared of getting towed and dipped out. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Conclusion: Beer and burgers. 'Nuff said...

We were greeted by a hostess who, despite plenty of open tables and several staff members moving around, told us to stand off to the side and wait to be added to a "list." A young waitress tried to seat us right away, but the hostess reprimanded her, so we waited several more minutes before finally being shown to a table. It took a while just to get drinks and place our breakfast order. About 45 minutes passed with no food, while we watched obvious regulars come in, order, and receive their meals quickly. When we checked in with our waitress, she said it would be just a few more minutes. Ten minutes later, they brought out someone else's food entirely. At that point, we no longer felt confident that our meal--if it ever arrived--would be prepared with care or proper kitchen practices. We decided to pay for our drinks and leave. The worst part came as we were walking to our car: the hostess sent our waitress outside to tell us she wasn't allowed to keep the tip we left. That confirmed this wasn't a server issue--it's a management and kitchen problem. It's a shame, because it's a cute little spot on my route to and from work, but this experience was enough to keep me from returning.
