As a bride on a budget, I gave this place a shot and found my dress (and veil!) on my first visit!…read moreThe staff is very firm on visitor count, but friendly. Shop is excellently clean. I really valued the fact that my purchase was going towards cancer research. It made my experience so much more special and significant.

This was the 4th bridal store I visited, the other three being regular bridal shops (one in Howell, one in WB, and David's Bridal in Novi). I knew going in that all proceeds are donated to cancer charities, which is great; I didn't know that all the employees are volunteers, too. Our assistant was Lisa and she was great. In my two-hour appointment I probably tried on 5-7 dresses. Some weren't as "fancy" as I wanted (mostly the Torrid ones, but the prices were excellent; $50+) but I found two I really liked, and ended up buying one! For $450, which is about 1/4 the price of another dress I saw at one of the other shops and really liked. They do alterations there too - the shop itself allows credit cards but the seamstresses, who are also volunteers, just take cash or check. The shop advised me to come back about 3 months before my wedding to start the alterations process, so that would be June of next year. They told me they do cost-effective alterations, too, so this is where I'll be taking my dress. Overall super pleased with this store, and glad that their mission is so charitable, too.

She created an environment that felt warm, supportive, and genuinely joyful, and I never once felt rushed or overwhelmed. I felt truly cared for every step of the way. I brought my sister, best friend, and mom with me, and they were all blown away by how thoughtful and seamless the appointment was. Jessie somehow made everyone feel included while still keeping the focus on what I was feeling. When I found my dress, her excitement was so real and contagious, it felt like celebrating with someone who was just as invested in the moment as my own family. The entire team was incredibly kind, the dress selection was beautiful, and booking the VIB experience was absolutely worth it. This was more than just a shopping appointment, it was a memory I'll always hold onto. A true 10 out of 10 experience, made unforgettable by Jessie.

After visiting several bridal stores and either not…read morefinding the right dress or not having the best experience, I decided to stop into The Dress Shop as my last store--just to see what they had. From the moment we walked in, we felt so welcome and taken care of. Although I'm sure all of their stylists are wonderful, I was incredibly lucky to work with Isabel, and I truly cannot give her enough praise. She was absolutely incredible. Isabel was so knowledgeable about every aspect of the gowns--fabric, designers, styles, silhouettes, details--you name it. She answered every question we had and made me feel reassured and completely comfortable, more than any other shop I visited (and I visited a good few!). One thing I loved was how personal the experience felt. During my first consultation, Isabel asked about my (then) fiancé, how we met, and details about our wedding day. It truly felt like they cared about me and wanted to get to know my story. I honestly felt like I became friends with them! There was never an ounce of pressure. In fact, it was the opposite--they respected when I needed time to think and never made me feel rushed or questioned my decisions. It was such a refreshing, positive experience. This shop--and especially Isabel--is genuinely at the very top of my list of wedding vendors. I've been excited to write this review since the day I bought my dress! Even after my dress purchase, I visited a few more times to look for a veil, jewelry, and accessories, and every single person I interacted with (front desk, phone calls, stylists) was so kind, encouraging, and helpful. I found my dream dress, veil, and bracelet here, and the entire experience was something I'll cherish forever. If you're unsure where to go--especially if you've tried multiple stores like I did--please visit The Dress Shop. You will not regret it.
