Sadly, numerous shoe repair places run by skilled cobblers have closed over the past two decades throughout southeastern Lower Michigan. However, Rapid Shoe Fix on Pearl Street has staying power, and are committed to providing excellent customer service for many years to come. This fine business also repairs most leather goods, including attache cases, backpacks, boots, luggage, purses, satchels, shoes and other items. I recently had to attend a funeral, so my Rockport Wingtips needed a shine, and guy at the counter said it would take 10-15 minutes to complete. When he was finished, the shoes had a shine on surface that looked like two mirrors, and I could see my reflection on them. While I was at the store, I decided to buy a new leather belt. Sadly, when I was leaving the funeral home, the screws that were holding the buckle onto the belt gave way. Thankfully, I was able to keep my pants up until I arrived at home, and could change my clothes without embarrassment. That said, I took the belt back to Rapid Shoe Fix, and the man who sold it repaired the belt in a few minutes, and gave me a choice of just taking a new belt in return, with no questions asked. I plan on buying all of my shoe polish from this place in the future, as they have high-end polish from France, and other parts of the world.
