I recently had my Butterfly 1501 15-needle embroidery machine serviced by this company, and unfortunately the situation did not end in a resolution. According to their advertising, they have expanded their repair services to cover industrial sewing machines, longarm quilting machines, multi-needle embroidery machines, and sergers. Based on that information, I contacted them in September 2025 for routine maintenance -- cleaning, oiling, and tension adjustment. My machine was running prior to service, although it had been sitting unused for about a year. After the technician completed the service, I ran a small design and the machine stopped within a few minutes, displaying multiple error codes that had not appeared before. To their credit, communication improved once the issue began, and they picked up the machine to evaluate it further at their store. However, this process continued from September 2025 until February 2026. The machine was ultimately returned to me in February 2026 unrepaired. I was told they were unable to obtain the necessary part and that the head was likely bad. While I appreciate the communication efforts, I am disappointed that I paid $700 for service and, after several months, received my machine back not functioning. This has been a frustrating, lengthy, and costly experience -- and not the outcome I expected when choosing a company that advertises service for multi-needle embroidery machines. read more

I placed an order for some items that they did not have in the store and after numerous calls and eight weeks of waiting they still could not tell me if the items had been ordered. Finally had them refund my money. The store and the workers are lovely, but only buy in stock items. read more

Zero stars. No manager on duty, had to wait quite some time until a manager returned a phone call. Offered me $500 for a very expensive (over $10,000) embroidery machine as a trade in. If they didn't want it thats all they had to say. Wasting my time and then offering that amount was a huge slap in the face. yet they are selling pre-owned machines from the same time frame as mine for over $6,000. Outstanding. I went to the Clarksville location on the memory of its location from decades ago. I was so glad to see it still there. I have an amazing New Home Janome that has worked for almost a decade that just stopped working as it had, even after cleaning. I was greeted a few moments on entering by Chris (amazing human!) and on hearing the issue, he advised on the cost of cleaning and repair (100 and up for those needing to know.). He listened to my concerns and when I mentioned I was not sure if repair was better than a replacement, he showed me models in my price range. I tend to use my machine for anything from mending to making light quilts. He suggested some models he personally liked (Brother and Bernina) and when I asked on how they would handle Minky (which sheds a lot) he got back up advice from Sarah (Mgr). She gave me some additional food for thought. Prices were clearly marked, lots of machines to review with but a bit outside my budget at the moment. I opted to think on it and got a card with the info. Running errands to Joann's (the fabric store) later, I overheard an elegant elder lady with hr daugher looking to find a repair place- I offered her the card- she said God puts us where we are needed. Indeed. I looked around at what Joann's and Michael's offered, and its all Singer, and some lower end Janome's but not what I had.. which was what I wanted. Nothing I could get today and today was really important. You see, I had promised 5 projects by Monday to the people I help at my assisted living place and I will not, and cannot let them down- otherwise getting the Janome repaired would be ideal for me. After reviewing the models Sarah suggested, and the reviews of those in both local stores for the on hand stock, the decision was easy. I would simply need to take advantage of the sale, and trust Sarah. I called back up there to confirm if the items were in stock- they were. Once I got there, we had a little confusion on what was seen earlier and cost but Sarah was great at working with me on the model she thought would work best. I took home the B05 Academy model, read through the manual; and went to work. I am beyond impressed. The only thing that was missing is the buttonhole plate. I can deal with that later, this was the best machine I could have gotten. Never looking back. read more

I've been looking for my first sewing machine, so I stopped by to look at some models and ask for advise. The sales representative was extremely knowledgeable and talked me through some pro/cons of buying different machines. I lso got to try sewing sewing on the machine she recommended. The prices were more than I was planning to spend, but the price they quoted me was competitive with Amazon/larger stores. If I decide to invest in an expensive machine, I'll probably buy it here. You can tell the folks here are really passionate about sewing. *I saw a lot of people not wearing masks. That made me kinda uncomfortable. They were supposed to repair my singer sewing machine. The dog feed was broken. They did fix that but then screwed up the bobbin assembly big time. They were supposed to fix it but they did not. The bobbin assembly helps guide the thread and it did not. I would not recommend this company. I doubt they are qualified to do repairs. Not happy at all. read more

I bought my first sewing machine here, and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They showed me the in's and out's of all the machines that I was interested in and even taught me some stiches. I came with lots of questions and they seemed happy to answer all of them. I also got a free sewing lesson with my new machine, and Linda was incredibly helpful and patient in teaching me how to use all the pieces of my machine and answering all my questions. I've had the WORST customer service at the Sew and Vac Authority on Westport Rd, Louisville. They were eager to sell me a new vacuum AND take my Dyson off my hands, yet I've had problems with the vacuum clogging from day one. I have had to unjam the vacuum 10-15 times. The first time I brought it in was around a month from the purchase date and they checked it and insisted it was working fine. I told them of course it's fine now because I spent an hour unclogging it. They told me to bring it back if it happened again. So I did. Again they told me it's fine but again I had unclogged it. They told me there was nothing they could do for me, I'd need to bring it in when it's clogged...so I did. This time telling me it was clogged due to vacuuming up tiny stick from the dogs. Again, they stated there is nothing they could do Except try to sell it online. UNACCEPTABLE. Please do not shop here! read more

I took in my Singer machine specifically because the bobbin winder no longer worked. Paid XX? up front just to have it looked at. When I received word it was ready for pick up, I was informed there were no replacement parts for the bobbin winder but the machine had gotten a overhaul and was ready for pick up at the additional cost for the work that got the machine up to snuff --except for the bobbin winder that still doesn't work. If some one had called me and asked if I wanted other issues having nothing to do with the bobbin winder addressed, I would have declined. read more

Brought my old vacuum here to buy some replacement parts to get it back in shape. Was told by Liz (I believe the store manager?) that it would be cheaper to buy a new unit then to fix my old one. I'd done my homework and she was right. She offered me a brand new out of box unit probably better than my last one for less than the repair cost. So we agreed and took it home. Long story short it was broken or defective and didn't work so I called her up and she said she'd make it right and would bring in a brand new replacement for us the next day which was her day off. Cool. She tells us they'll assemble it and test it to make sure it works before we pick it up. Anyways went to pick it up and the guy must not have gotten the memo to put it together which is fine. It's not hard to assemble a vacuum. The funny part is it was not "brand new", it was refurbished. Maybe that's why she said they'd assemble it so I wouldn't know. I'm not really that mad because it works great and it's a lot cheaper than a new vacuum. I just wish she would have been honest about the fact it was refurbished. Don't sell me a refurbished product and tell me it's brand new. That's just not right. Minus two stars for that BUT Liz knows her stuff and is very friendly and courteous and professional like everyone else we've talked to there. read more

They no longer sell or service Oreck anymore and refuse to stand by warranty work , I have to now drive across town for my vacuum cleaner to have a service or repair. I had a wonderful experience at Vacuum Authority! I called ahead asking questions about my vacuum. I spoke with a very kind man who was extremely helpful! He was very friendly and knowledgeable about my problem. I had the same Pleasant experience when I went into vacuum Authority. When I got home I ended up having a few questions about a different vacuum so I called again. He was very patient while he walked me through some steps to get my vacuum working better! Just picked up our Dyson which had been left for cleaning and repair, (if necessary). We were required to prepay for service, which we did. Supposedly, it was cleaned, washed and dried, as was related to me by the employee who did it. Interestingly enough, the clear bagless tank still had animal hair, grime residue and the same foul odor that we paid to have cleaned. I called (furious) and told the same employee that it wasn't clean. She cried-yes-CRIED, and hung up whereupon, my husband returned to the store with the FILTHY VACUUM. Her response? Our vacuum was 'disgusting and filthy'. Duh, yeah, that's why we paid $80+ TO HAVE YOU CLEAN IT! read more
