I originally tried Sextons about a year and a half ago and wasn't blown away. I decided to give it another shot and it was awesome. The crust has a nice crisp to it but also has air pockets. The pepperoni tasted fresh and the mikes hot honey drizzled on is a great touch. read more

So happy to see the success of Sexton's Pizza in their expansions across Columbus. This is easily one of my favorite pizzas in town, and the owners are consistently working to improve the ingredients. They've pretty much perfected the char crust here. I had the MIKE! at this new location with cup and burn peps and Mike's Hot Honey, and it was absolutely delicious. The new location itself is a bit hidden behind the whole Center Street Market area, but it's easily within a couple minutes walk to Crooked Can Brewing, and I'm told you can bring drinks from there over to the Center Street area. This new location has a full bar as well, and it's a decent size too with a bunch of their own cocktails. It looks like they have live music Thursday to Friday as well. I'm always looking for pizza that makes me as happy as the East coast pizza back home in CT, and Sexton's has done a pretty solid job at this. I highly recommend you check them out. read more

Delicious pizza! Ours made with extra cheese. The crust is awesome and everything pairs well with a side of their homemade ranch dressing or garlic sauce. They have a great lunch special of a pizza slice and hand cut fries that gives any fair a run for their money for $6. They are not taking phone orders at this time and their dough is fermented for days with amounts allocated for each days pizza so sometimes they do run out. Terribly disappointing when it happens but definitely makes the prized pizza worth it when you receive it! I live just yards away and I think I'm going to need to utilize the bike path close by a lot this summer to burn off the calories. read more

A lot of people have recommended Sexton's and I don't think it lived up to the hype honestly. I've seen people post about it coming out burnt and ours was definitely more on the burnt today as well. The top had some burnt spots that were fine, but the bottom was definitely burnt. The sauce was decent and the crust ok, but it was very tough. Sextons doesn't mess around with their pizza. They accomplish this by keeping it simple and don't overdo ingredients. The quality of this pie was exquisite and the taste sublime. I saw a lot of people complaining about the crust being overdone, in my opinion if there's no char it ain't done right! The crust was phenomenal and the sauce uncomplicated in its taste of pure bliss while the cheese danced on top in sheer delight and then across our tongues it waltzed in robust beauty. When a pizza can take away the attention of two grown ups sitting at the bar while a hoard of kids screamed and ran around like it was The Lord of The Flies with no parental care or control over the noise these banshees were making you know how good it must have been! The entire staff were straight quality and the service was down home nice. We'll definitely be back although we'll be more discerning about the time and day as to miss the running of the nose miners next time! I'm going 9.1 on this rating! Our kids were out and about with friends so we went on an impromptu date night to Sexton's. The decor was simple. Black low and higtop tables with a wall separating the room. They offer outdoor seating with a view of a large pond. Though not a full bar, the bar has enough alcohol to suit most requests. The pizza... Whenever we head East, we stop in this pizza shop where the owner is almost yelling at the patrons. He will ask, "take out or will you stay." Regardless of how you answer, he damn near yells, "Sit Down!" Despite his gruff personality, he has the best New Your pizza. Sextons's pizza is nearly similar. Although skimpy on the side, the crust was perfect and the toppings were plentiful. We'd heard service was iffy but, on a Sunday evening, we had great service. The bartender told us to sit where we'd like. Less than 2 minutes after seating, the waiter brought the menus. 2-ish minutes after that he asked if we wanted drinks. After bringing our drinks he took our order. I wanted to give 3 stars but since the food and service was good I gave it 4 stars. So if the food and service were great, why 3-4 stars? Because of the plastic cups. I ordered an Ace Pineapple cider, husband ordered Honeycrisp cider and we each asked for a glass. Dude brought us plastic cups. We looked around and saw everyone was drinking out of plastic cups. I guess I'm a snob. I don't like drinking beer or cider out of a bottle/can. When he gave me the plastic cup, I paused to consider which would be better to drink out of. After eating the awesome pie, my husband asked what I thought. I told him, "I love the pie but I'm never dining in here again. I'll order the pie online, buy a 6 pack for the same price as 1 bottle and eat/drink in the privacy of our home." The toppings in some cases were on the skinny side which I found annoying because each one was $3.50 add on. So a four item pizza was pretty expensive. This Hilliard pizza spot was recommended to my sister by a co-worker. When I learned they had white pizza, I had to give it a try, and I am pleased that I did. I used the online order option, which was user-friendly and quick. The young lady behind the bar was very welcoming and friendly and the restaurant itself was clean and inviting. I ate a slice on the way home, and it was delicious. The crust was crispy and chewy, just the way I like it. It had just enough, mozzarella, ricotta, and parm, and the garlic sauce was subtle. I would have liked it to be a bit more garlicky, but it was still good. The next time I order, I will eat it at the restaurant because once I got the pizza home, I realized the hot pizza in a closed box, steamed the crust, causing it to lose the crispness--my bad. My only criticism is there were quite a few bubbles in the pizza--sometimes covering at least half of the slice, so it seemed somewhat of a waste. i genuinely feel bad for leaving a 3 star review because this pizza is good, however, never have I experienced such difficulty ordering food. They don't have a phone number, you have to order it through an app 'toast'. On multiple occasions, I have ordered through said app, and my pizza is never ready at listed time. Tonight, I ordered a pizza through the app, to find that my order time had changed to 2.5 hours upon checkout, no way to call and cancel, no way to cancel through the app. Why not take phone orders?? Or at least have a line of contact listed for assistance?? Wow wow wow! My daughter recommended this pizza place near her home so we gave it a try tonight. I can honestly say this is one of the best pizza's I have ever had. This pizza is some of the most delicious I've ever had anywhere. I LOVE IT. It's a symphony and no one can take that away from Sextons. The crust is crisp, light and flavorful sauce, great ingredients. However, the restaurant is run poorly. The service was terrible, plastic knives and forks and paper plates with thick crust pizza makes it nearly impossible to eat. The pizza came out on a plastic tray and it wasn't fully cut then set on a can to make it look like a pizza stand (I've seen this move many times). How we the tray is too large and the can too small, when you're trying to saw through it with a flimsy plastic fork you feel like a cartoon character getting pranked by a jokester chef - it's weird and an accident waiting to happen. The hype is real. I had Sexton's before the Portnoy One Bite review and knew it was good freaking pizza. It's just a bit away from us so we don't make it over there frequently but when my wife had an event in Hilliard, I decided to wait for her at Sexton's and grab some pizza. Still knocking it out of the park. The service is SO so friendly and they are great people AND they make some great pies. Sexton's is up there and needs to be mentioned up there with some of the other top spots in Columbus and Ohio. I would put their pizza up against any. They use quality ingredients and the dough and cooking of the pizza is just fantastic. If you have not been, I highly recommend putting in an order or stopping in for a pizza. Just make sure they have enough pizza for you to eat. Due to the high Portnoy rating (deservedly so obviously), they are selling out often. It seems like they make more and more dough and still continue to sell out. The hype is real though and I had no issues going in on a weeknight and getting a pie. Given that I don't live close I was excited to celebrate my birthday dinner here. After much deliberation we ordered the Mikes and All about Cheezus. I have had a very over cooked pizza at their Gahanna location so I showed the server a picture of my ideal doneness so that I could enjoy my birthday treat. I was beyond pleased when they came out with these two perfectly cooked pies! Cooked through, browned, cheesy, and tasted like Heaven. I do wish they'd chiffonade the basil so you get some in each bite of pizza though. As a very satisfied customer and huge supporter of your product I beg you to open back up for lunch so I can stop in more often and brag about how great you are.
