The Inn was built in 1909 by Thomas Edison. Yes that Thomas Edison, the one who invented the lightbulb. The Inn has so much character it's pure eye candy for those who appreciate the fine craftsmanship of classic furniture, decor and interior design. We stayed in the Thomas Jefferson room, the biggest room with a king size bed and infamously know to have housed Joe DiMaggio and Marylyn Monroe back in the day. When Carol informed me…read morethat they are indeed on a dairy farm and I could even milk a cow while I was there if I liked, I immediately booked! I cannot endorse the place heartily enough. It had a truly spectacular view, the breakfasts were delicious, the bed was comfy, the house was cozy and clean, it was a quick drive away from Jay Peak, the price was competitive/low, and the experience was a quaint and vermont-ish as you could hope for. But above all else, the hosts (Carol and Dennis) were fantastic and I got to stay in a B&B on a dairy farm! That meant I got to milk a cow and sample some unadulterated-but-chilled milk for the first time ever. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and I will definitely stay there again if/when I make it back up that far north. I can't imagine a nicer couple of hosts or a more memorable, peaceful experience.

The owners cook an amazing breakfast, that is quite a delight. Fresh baked cookies are available every afternoon and I ate my weight in them. The outdoor hot tub was a huge perk for us as was the billiards table and scrabble game. Every night they stoke a roaring fire in the wood stove. Perfect for when you come in from being outside. They offer free snow shoe gear to borrow, so naturally we took advantage and hiked outside on the trails. This place is 25 min from Muddy paws dog kennel to go sledding. Do it! It's amazing. While nearby restaurants are limited, what is around, is good. We loved this place. We will return.

The suite is located on the first floor right next to the main entrance door. Pros: large room with propane fireplace. Kitchenette w hot plate, pans, plates, glasses and small refrigerator. Bed is very comfy. Small table w chairs for dining. Two comfy swivel chairs to relax. Very clean. 20%discount at the Butlers Pantry. Parking in back of house. Locker for skis. Cons: very loud room as they allow the patrons for the restaurant to use the main entrance so people line up outside your door early and talk very loud. They have two other restaurant entrances and the owners really should make the patrons use that entrance vs the main entrance. So plan on it being loud from 0730 AM to after 1200pm. Yelp has a 20% discount if you check in on the app for 2 nights or more. The coupon is outdated and the owners never responded to my inquiry. The coupon should be taken down as I didn't see how it could be redeemed anyway since you must pay in full 14 days prior to your stay and the hotel is self check in. Overall, a lovely stay minus the noisy room.
