This place never disappoints. The omelette was not oily at all. I opted for hash browns instead of home fries and no bread. I got a ham omelette no cheese. And a decaf coffee with cream. I added flavor syrup myself. Coffee is very good too. And they open nice and early, even on a Sunday, unlike another place in Livingston. If in Livingston you need to go here. I can't be more satisfied with the food and staff here. My meal was brought to me quickly too. If you get here early, you get your food quickly. As it gets later, they get very busy. Firstly, the service here is great. The people are friendly and accommodating. And considering how busy it was, my order was ready quickly. Secondly, the lox was super fresh and tasty, practically melting in my mouth. Now, that said, I don't see myself going back I ordered scallion cream cheese and lox on an everything bagel with red onions and tomatoes, and I paid $18. Is it me, or is this a bit excessive? Just to be sure I wasn't out of touch with the going rate of lox and bagels (especially since i'm not a bagel person and wouldn't really know) I went to another bagel place and ordered the same thing. My wife and I stopped in and had a really great brunch today! She had the avocado toast platter and I had a Greek omelette. Both meals were excellent! I stopped in this morning after hitting the bank nearby. I had heard that their Taylor Ham Egg & Cheese in a bagel was excellent so I decided to give it a try and support a local business. Service was friendly and the menu is available digitally. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Everyone was masked and the interior looked nice. I ordered the Taylor Ham, Egg & Cheese on a bagel to go and headed home. The sandwich was delicious and very filling. I highly recommend. The sandwich was evenly spread out and cooked perfectly. I look forward to trying some of the other options on their long menu. Also tried coffee which was ok but not great. Only hassle is parking. There is a lot but no clear signage. The food not good, my eggs lacked any quality taste to it, the French toast and pancakes were just ok. My turkey bacon was burnt. I asked for wheat bread and they put a bagel with butter (charged me extra for it .75cent). The food took 45 minutes to come and I never got any water. Came here for breakfast for the second time to have a lox breakfast sandwich and cream cheese and jelly bagel with my sister. The food was great, the cream cheese was overflowing and the lox was delightfully fresh and the perfect amount of salt. It was our first time sitting indoors and the interior was super festive and cozy. The heater was blasting and christmas music was playing in the background. For the second review I would have given 4 stars but I had to detract a star because the service here is really a hit or miss. It took us 15 minutes to flag someone down for our check. The waitresses that take your order look like they hate their lives and refuse to put on smile if their lives depend on it. I'm so happy we stayed in Livingston or else we would never have stumbled upon Seymour's Deli! I love that all the baked goods are freshly-made. I live in Florida so it's not often that I get an authentic bagel for breakfast or anything of the griddle served with real maple syrup. I was in breakfast heaven. I ordered the blueberry pancakes and my boyfriend had a breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel. My pancakes were HUGE. They were two large pancakes that were almost the size of my plate. The blueberries (I'm told) are from Maine and of course, the pancakes came with real maple syrup. YUM. My boyfriend's breakfast sandwich was awesome. He ate every bite. The bacon was crispy and the cheese warm and gooey. The coffee was good but I prefer strong coffee. They also offer decaf coffee if that's your preference. I came here for brunch with a friend on a Friday morning and there was still a decent amount of people but we were still able to get seated with no wait. However, service was slow and it was a little challenging getting the waiter's attention. I like how the interior was clean and simple but a little cramped. I got the country scrambled platter. The eggs were cooked well and the potatoes were crispy on the outside and still fluffy on the inside. The dish overall was a little under-seasoned. However, I was able to add salt and pepper from the side of the table to adjust to my liking. This was a very filling dish so I had some leftovers. Last week, I had ordered from Seymour's and had a pretty unpleasant experience which I voiced here on Yelp. I must give kudos to management for taking complaints like these seriously. They were really wonderful, replying to my comment and then sending a fresh omelette first thing when they opened this morning to make up for last time. I went here out of pure desperation after I could not find parking around lunch time at the Chit Chat diner and Sweet Basil's. I've lived in Livingston for many years and just couldn't bring myself to go here when it was the original Seymour's. But after so many people recommended this spot citing a more contemporary and expansive menu and some renovations, I decided it was worth a go. The servers are nice, very attentive refilling my coffee. They have several flavor choices of coffee if that's your thing. They have a nice selection of omelettes which makes the need to custom size your own unnecessary. I opened for the Seymour which was egg whites, pesto, mushroom, onions, all served with avocado, tomato and salsa. Their salad choices, sandwiches and wraps along with other breakfast items all looked good as I glanced around. The front to-go case had nice green juice options and fresh made smoothies available. So glad I stopped in. I can definitely see this place as a quick go to for just about anything you want from a diner. And quite honestly, for me it beats the very popular Ritz diner. My boyfriend, a Livingston resident, brought me to Seymour's for the first time on August 19, 2018 around 11:30am so it was prime brunch hour! The atmosphere of Seymour's is nice! It is very quaint and family friendly. HOWEVER, the dining area is very small and tight. We were practically on top of both the tables next to us and because my boyfriend is six foot tall, he had barely any space it move around in his seat. I ordered the Italian Scrambled which included: 4 eggs, andouille sausage, potatoes, tomatoes, roasted peppers, and avocado. My boyfriend ordered a Taylor Ham and Cheese Omelette with Spinach. Both of our orders came with a side of toast and home fries. This was by far the best breakfast/brunch dish I've ever had! Everything was so well seasoned and FRESH! The dish was huge and definitely fulfilling. I genuinely cannot wait to return and try something else on their menu which is HUGE! We were looking for a place with parking on our drive back from NYC after a weekend there. Their reserved parking space was not only appreciated, the short wait time made a perfect place for a Sunday brunch. The food was delicious and service was great. The outdoor seating at the gazebo looked tempting, but we chose indoors to get a feel of the cozy ambiance. Seymour's is making a happy little nest in my stomach as I write this review. This has been a Livingston institution since before your father was old enough to eat there. Apparently two years ago there was a change in ownership after a long, slow decline in patronage. This little den has been revamped and the menu has been given a thorough overhaul and update. You will now find a selection of attractively named juices and smoothies with questionable health benefits, racks of supersized baked goods (check out the berries on those muffins! don't let them catch you staring), and more breakfast and lunch choices than you can shake a gently rounded stick at. The menu is huge. Huge. Every variation you can dream of, from waffles and pancakes to omelettes to sandwiches, wraps, paninis, the list goes on. You can order breakfast for lunch and probably lunch for breakfast as well. Then there's the super-secret side menu. I highly, highly recommend the whitefish salad as an addition to any sandwich, but particularly for breakfast. I had the "Livingston" on a sesame bagel (they were out of my poppy choice, side note the bagels are good but not superb) and it totally needed the whitefish. It'll only set you back $4 for a good sized dollop that adds enough food to potentially send you home with leftovers. Of course, all of their food is sized for that. I sampled many other dishes that came to the table and they were all quite good. Real maple on every table is a big plus. Mind the wait - it's a tiny place and fills up quickly at mealtimes, especially on weekends. Parking is also a bear as a result. They do a brisk takeout business, if you just want the food without the fuss. Verdict is not five stars, but I wouldn't change a thing, except maybe to find a new location. Sometimes you want small bits of gourmet food, and sometimes you want giant heaps of comfort. My stomach is more than happy with the latter today. read more

Updated review: I've been here three times. First time was dinning in and they were good. Omelette was alright and the service was good. Definitely think that they have such a large variety of healthy options to choose from so I definitely love that. Second time I was ordering out...and this is where I encountered my first problem. The lady insisted that the sandwich came with mushrooms...no mushrooms were in the sandwich. It was a dry and I couldn't finish it. Now, my third time around, I decided to order the sandwich again and was hesitant (this was before I saw the owner had commented on my initial post). I placed my order and the lady over the phone had better customer service skills. Really loved that. When I got my order picked up, the people actually gave me the sandwich for free because they recognized the order from the review I guess (this promoted me to come back to yelp and check out what happened with the post...hence, the update). I really appreciate the effort they took to make sure their customers are happy. Not many people will make that kind of extension, so for that I am thankful. However, my order was still wrong that makes me sad. Requested my sandwich without cheese and it had cheese but it did have mushrooms which was bomb wish it had more tho. so i came here with my friend on saturday for lunch and my sister on sunday for brunch. parking was a bit hard because the parking lot is not the lot right next to it but the one next to that one (there's a white poster so make sure you turn in the right lot or else you'll have to go all the way around to get to the lot). the wait time to be seated was about 10 minutes (since it's the weekend). once seated, they bring water to you quickly but it takes about 10 minutes for them to come to take your order and about 20 minutes for your order to come. Depending on how busy it is and who your server is , they may or may not come to refill your water (even if you ask for it to be refilled). Normally a wait, cramped space and poor parking like this will make me dislike a place, but I genuinely loved their food that it makes up for it. Both times i got the nutella stuffed french toast that comes with strawberries and banana because it's THAT good - it's crunchy/crispy but soft , not too sweet - omg i just had it two days in a row but i want it everyday. When they get it right, man is their food good. Unfortunately there's no consistency, 50% of the time at least one thing is missing or wrong with my order. Their food is not cheap and I expect it to get what I'm paying for. A hip, delicious, and popular cafe that DESPERATELY needs to move to a larger location. I was in on a weekday afternoon and this place was moving. Limited seating that was all full when I walked in. Don't expect to casually walk in with a friend for brunch and sit down quickly. Their menu is awesome! They have gf/vegan options and a large variety of breakfast/lunch/brunch options. Seems to cover all of the trends too: poke, açaí bowls, juices. They also have iced coffee: I like that the ice cubes for the coffee are COFFEE ICE CUBES! So cool. As for my meal...I ordered an avocado BLT with a green delight juice. As I mentioned - very busy inside. Took maybe 10 minutes - not bad. Also take note this is a very small place so I had to constantly move around to let people go by. They didn't have any more panini bread, so I asked for rye. They gave me whole wheat...but it was fine. Luckily I like whole wheat. They LOAD on the bacon and it's my favorite kind of bacon! It melts away in your mouth. It came with a side of macaroni salad (which I loved- and I don't even like macaroni salad) and a pickle (which was also great). The green juice is what you would expect - but $10? Yikesssss.
