Wanted to try a new place for a THEC. Found this place and I ordered the sandwich and a coffee. They have been open 3.5 years. The place is spotless clean. It has a parking lot. The service was spot on and very friendly. The THEC with SPK came out. The Taylor ham was 4 thin slices charred and just how I like it. It appeared to have 2 eggs on it. And cheese. There could've been more cheese and less ketchup. All I seemed to taste was ketchup and pepper. The roll was soft. I do recommend this place and I will be back.

Taylor ham, egg and cheese sandwich. Delicious

So this lady recommended this place and the way she explained it I had to check it out. Ordered my food online and with in 5-7 mins it was done. The moment I looked at my sandwich I knew I was going to enjoy it and I DID. F'ing delicious

It wasn't too sweet either. I also got hot chocolate which I think was some of the best I've had. It tasted so smooth, light and rich at the same time and kinda of like chocolate marshmallows! The place can get crowded and it's small, so you end up waiting cramped inside for your drinks. As you wait though you can watch the bakers decorate the cookies which is pretty cool. Service is friendly, got our order wrong initially and had to refund and do it again. It's crowded and loud so understandable. Plenty of parking in the lots across or on the street.

I highly recommend their coffee, I get a different drink each time and I'm never disappointed. The bakery can get a bit crazy and crammed, it's fairly small, and there's a lot going on, especially on the weekends. The staff move quickly to get orders ready and out, everyone works efficiently. As for the treats, my fiancé has enjoyed a variety of goodies from there, especially the cupcakes. I usually opt for a box of the gluten-free (also vegan) raspberry bars. The box is definitely pricey, so it's absolutely a treat for me to splurge on myself. Overall, the spot is worth a visit to while near Maplewood if you have a sweet tooth or need a caffeine fix.

Anyway, since then I've been back 3 more times; once for breakfast and twice for brunch. And while I'm confessing, the two times for lunch were on subsequent days. Yeah, they're that good. Actually, their chicken salad on a croissant is the best I've ever had and in my advanced years I've had a crapload of chicken salad. The have a nice sized coffee bar, decorated beautifully with some pretty delicious looking pastries. I'm on an anti-sweet phase so I'm basing my opinion on only on appearance. Then there's a seating area when you can eat, served by a friendly attentive staff and an adjacent boutique area where you can purchase housewares, clothing and other cool stuff. I'm not in Maplewood all that often, generally when I'm shopping at the equally awesome City Workshop but when I do, I always make sure to hit up Perch. You should too. 1/2 star deduction because they don't offer fake sugar, just that Stevia crap which is gross.

Once you bite into it, the chicken isn't mushy at all -- you can actually see the fibers, and it's very juicy and tender. The seasoning is well done and not overly salty. I went with their house sauce, which has a slightly pickled chili vibe -- mildly sour, a bit spicy, and with a unique aroma that's hard to describe but really enjoyable. The fried chicken burger was also impressive -- definitely shows some skill in execution. One unexpected highlight was the cornbread. I usually don't enjoy cinnamon-flavored desserts, but this one grew on me quickly. The texture was excellent, and it ended up being a pleasant surprise.
