I stopped in for a mid-afternoon bite and ordered the Porcello sandwich. The generous portion of porchetta paired beautifully with the pecorino, and the bread itself was exceptional - really elevated the whole experience. I couldn't resist adding a spritz to my order, and at €5, it was both perfectly made and a great value for Rome. With their extended hours, La Salumeria is convenient anytime you're craving quality. Highly recommended!
Authentic made fresh paninis. Near Castel Sant Angelo. We tried Fico, Spucy Caronte, Caprino, and Contadino. Will come again. Worth finding this gem.
Wide variety of panini- they have many vegetarian options which I appreciated. My favorite was the caprese- chopped fresh tomatoes, creamy stracciatella, and rich olive oil, served on fresh, crispy bread. I will say, especially for sandwiches like the caprese which don't have a lot of filling, it is better to go earlier in the day, when they use smaller loaves and the filling to bread ratio is more even. It's a small but comfy space, and there's usually spots inside to sit as many people take their panino to go. The staff is always very polite and welcoming. This is an all time favorite- it was my last lunch after a few months of studying and living in Rome.
This is the best sandwich place we have been to in an Italy. The salads and Bruschetta were great but the "Thanksgiving Sandwich" was the best thing I've eaten in Italy!

Great quality and prices. Loved my porchetta sandwich! 5 veggie options too. Very friendly service and yummy sandos, solid panini bread. All 4 sandwiches we ordered were hits. The charcuterie and cheese plates looked legit too.
Came here w a bicycle tour & LOVED the food & wine! Tried a lot of new things on our plates & a couple wines. Cozy interior, clean restroom - really enjoyed our visit
Omg. You have to try this place. Wife and I wanted something light she we walked over and ordered a medium sized platter and a bottle of Chianti. We were not disappointed and it was super cheap. If you're in Rome and want something on the lite side, you should give them a visit!

Everything on the menu sounded so good that I couldn't decide what to order, so my husband randomly picked one for me. Turns out, we couldn't have gone wrong. We had the Mortadella sandwich (mine) and the Baccarossa sandwich, and both were outstanding. The deli meats were sliced fresh to order and tucked into warm, fresh bread that made every bite delicious. The Mortadella was simple and flavorful, while the Baccarossa was the surprise favorite. The sweet jam paired with the cured meat created the perfect balance of sweet and savory. Fresh ingredients, generous portions, and incredible flavor. If you're looking for an authentic sandwich in Rome, this place is absolutely worth a stop. read more
Came here for the reviews and it did not disappoint. They have so many delicious sandwiches, t was hard to choose from. During our week, we had four and they were outstanding. In a cute little quaint spot tucked away from a busy corner. Order at the counter. Grab your own utensils and sit down and wait. We ordered a salumeria platter and a pork sandwich plus 2 glasses of wine. The prices were reasonable and we had a nice pleasant small dinner. The platter was beautiful and had high quality meats and cheeses were perfect. read more

My first time in Rome and we came across this little place after visiting St. Peters Square. Just like most places in Rome, they were a little hidden food stop while walking the streets around most touristy areas. We read reviews and could see it was a very liked eatery. We were welcomed by a kind face and saw they had a unique way of running this place. Their menu consisted of "chopping boards" which is an equivalent to charcuterie boards and paninis. I had no complaints as this was the perfect combination to grub on while in Rome. The prices were very well priced and I'm not sure maybe its due to the fact that I am from Hawai'i but you could try a variety of boards and paninis for a very good deal. My friend and I shared one panini and one "chopping board" the price was amazing and the food was just as amazing. The board we ordered was a medium but it filled us up very well along with the Gran Gourmet Panini we got. It was the best panini I have ever tasted. The experience was nice as well since it was more of a help yourself dine in. The plates and utensils were in an area for people to take at their own convenience. Definitely a great place to stop after walking around Rome! read more
Great find!!! The process is a bit untraditional since you order at the counter and they call you back to pick it up but don't be turned off since it's worth it. We picked out a meat board and a veggie board thinking these would be appetizers before dinner. They were a full on meal by the time we were done and happy to have made it a meal. I think the stand out was really the veggie board. Full of goodies that I wouldn't have picked out myself but really enjoyed. The meat board was a classic and really needed the second board to break up the heaviness. We wouldn't go back if we were in the neighborhood again. read more
Sandwich tasted alright, nothing special about it. The meat tasted like American Bologne and the sandwich had a jam to it (believe it was called the Yankee). Cute spot, but no table service. Quick and efficient, but wouldn't come here for the sandwiches. Their meat platters looked more interesting so try that instead of their sandwiches. read more

We stopped in and had the il crudo board. It was better than we even expected. Everything was so fresh and the portions were huge. We had a bottle of Syrah which was also excellent and such a value. Shout out to Kelly, an employee who was excellent and so friendly. read more
We grabbed lunch here are visiting the Vatican. The service was great and the food was delicious. I'm only giving them three stars because they aren't very eco-friendly. My plate was paper and for some reason came with a napkin in between the food and the plate. My only guess is that this was for presentation... it was entirely wasteful. Also, the only beverage offerings were in plastic... including the drinking glasses. If a restaurant has a dishwasher, they are fully capable of reusable options. Which are cheaper for the restaurant, and better for our one and only planet. read more

Totally stumbled upon this place and woah! We tried the pizza place next door and peeked in while we were waiting. Prosciutto hanging in the window? Yes please. The staff was so nice and accommodating. Inside is very cute-- a few bar tables and lower couches/ tables. Self service drinks and delicious food! Bookmark this place! read more

Had two "small" plates that were more than enough to feed 4. Had the vegetable platter with grilled eggplant, spinach, pickles, egg cucumber quiche, cheese, and olives. Porchetta plate had loads of pork goodness. Loads of nice crusty bread. Get the Williams panini, the pear salad is the perfect complement to the ham. Just across the river from Castle Santangelo near the Vatican. read more

Meats on meats on meats. If you like MEATS, this is the place for you. We stopped in and enjoyed the "la Salumeria." It came with several different meats and a few other fun bites. Everything was delicious. They don't really have anywhere you can sit down but there are some tables you can stand at. This is a nice place to stop in for a nice bite. read more

This place is a teeny tiny hole in the wall. Alessandro is the owner and he's super nice. He prepared put lunch which was a variety of meats and cheeses with bread and tapenade. A great place, delicious food, super clean bathroom! 5 Stars! read more
