I found myself having to look up arguments online just to have an edge against other shops. However, I want to leave this review for David, Kevin, and Da for their exceptional care for my car. Story time It was a Saturday night out celebrating a friend's birthday. I'm on the 210 West heading back home when tragedy struck. Saving the details of what happened, I can tell you that I was definitely planning on starving myself a few days so I can pay up at a dealership but I desperately took the chance to ask around this time. Out of the 5 shops I inquired, SGV Automotive was the only ones who shown genuine interest and care. David checked up on me to see if I was okay and we then scheduled for an appointment and luckily they were extremely flexible with my scheduling for a quick diagnosis and scheduled a timeline for expectations. I show up the very next day. Two gentleman comes up to me and immediately gets to work with diagnosing and communicating with me. I've never seen such transparency. From past experiences my expectation was: give the key, sit in a waiting room for an hour, debate about buying a snack, wait another hour for them to get started, then thrown with paperwork before knowing what even was the diagnosis. Current experience: communication, care, collaboration, education, reassurance, any most importantly transparency. They helped get me to a rental place and picked me up as well. Definitely went above and beyond. Happy to say that I was able to eat this week. Not looking forward to future car repairs, but as an LA native who expects car troubles too often, I'm glad I have these guys in mind for future services. Appreciate all that you guys do. The first time it was stolen, I honestly wished we had come here first to have a catalytic converter shield installed. After the second theft, I reached out to Mike's Muffler and spoke with Marty on the phone. I probably called him about 10 times with all my questions and concerns because I was so stressed about getting it replaced. Marty was incredibly patient, gave me a fair quote, and educated us about the replacement catalytic converter. He never pressured us into choosing a specific option and completely understood that I needed to get my car taken care of as soon as possible. When I arrived at the shop with my tow truck driver, Marty immediately took care of my car. He sat me down and reassured me that the parts and paperwork should not cause any issues with the DMV or smog check. That was one of my biggest concerns, so hearing that definitely gave me some peace of mind. While I waited a few hours, everyone at Mike's Muffler worked together to get my car taken care of. Oscar, Jose, and Alejandro were all working as a team, and they got me in and out as quickly as possible. They even let me take pictures of the replacement and see the underside of my car, which I really appreciated. When I pulled my car in, they told me to wait on the side. I was a bit confused at first, I thought they had to ask me what I was in for. But then I saw them bring my car into the lift, and when I saw and heard the mechanics, who are like your average Asian uncles, I knew my car was in good hands lol. Not sure if they remembered I was coming in or everyone who comes in just gets full synthetic oil changes, but I confirmed with the uncle and he said "Yes yes I got you the good kind" I realized I also needed a tire rotation so I asked him if they could do it and they said no problem 25 bucks. And I said ok no problem. Everyone was super nice and friendly, and Tony was very informative. As soon as my car was lifted, one mechanic worked on the tires and one mechanic worked on the oil change. My car was back on the ground in 10 minutes. I've never had an oil change done this fast. Decided to take it in on a Friday in the morning. Checked my wheels and told me I just needed the front brake pads and rotors replaced. The back was still good. Sigh of relief somewhat. They were able to get the pads and rotors replaced for little under 3 hours. Time went by and they were updating me during the whole time. Great service and team here.
