We needed our windows , gutters house patios and sidewalk cleaned, they came out gave me a price which was good then they had a sale which made it even better, we set up a date a 3 young men showed up on time set up and went to work well 4hrs later they were done and everything looked fantastic. Our 15 year old white vinyl Siding and Window casements on our multilevel house was absolutely filthy. From the street it didn't look too bad, but close up and wiping a paper towel over it it was filthy. I called SS and they got me a quote in less than a week! Matt's Glenview crew came in and I was shocked as I watched a River of brown dirt pour off the vinyl with their plant safe (happy wife) cleaning chemical. The SS operator was detailed, thorough, careful with the plants and cleaned up nicely after the 2.5 hour job. I hired Shack Shine to pressure wash my house, patio, and wash my windows. They showed up on time and the work was generally good. However, anything I didn't pay for them to clean was left dirty with overspray from the work they did. This included the sidewalks around my house, grill, smoker, and all my patio furniture. When prompted via email the evening after they did they work to review the job I included a complaint about this. 2 days later the crew came back to cleanup the mess. However, even more irritating is the fact that when they finished they charged me +$200 more than the online quote I received. This was more than a +30% price increase, without any notice before the work was done that it would be higher than the quote. In fact before they started I walked the house with them discussing the work to be done and at no time did they comment about the quote being low or an estimated cost. Therefore my assumption was the quote was what I'd be getting billed. When complaining about this I was told that their online quotes are not accurate and subject to change. I complained about the pricing to customer service twice, who told me that Matt, the franchise owner, would get back to me. The crew, in their return, also said he wanted to come by and review the work and speak to me about the pricing concerns. Nothing yet, still waiting...... My suggestion if you plan to use this company..... 1.) Make sure to review the work before the crew leaves to make sure they completed the job and cleaned up after themselves. 2.) While at Dunkin' Donuts an employee of Shack Shine threatened me with physical and bodily harm while in a Shack Shine uniform. Very unprofessional and immature behavior. I would not want an employee representing a company in that manner. I contacted Shack Shine and they told me that Matt, the franchise owner, would contact me. Matt never contacted me, a second call to Shack Shine and they told me that they reached out to Matt via email as well as voice mail. The franchise told me all I could do is to wait for Matt to call. Matt has not called. I find this to be a poor response, both, by the Shack Shine as well as Matt, the franchisee. Needless to say, I would not want some angry employee in my house or on my property. I DO NOT RECOMMEND Shack Shine for any of their services to anyone, PERIOD. If you use Shack Shine I would not trust them in my house at all, even with supervision. I will continue to share my experience with neighbors and anyone who my inquire about Shack Shine. Why did I have to work so hard to just get a quote? I booked through home advisor, received a confirmation for the appointment, but somehow Shack Shine had none of my information. I finally have someone come out and he said he would take a look and get back to me by the end of the day. He didn't get back to me, and I had to call them. Once again they have no record of my appointment. This was sketchy and concerning! I then get a call back and their response was that they couldn't guarantee that they would remove the algae stains from my roof because it's such a small area. What??? This roof is 3 years old, how could you not remove that? I'm assuming my job was too small of an issue, and not enough for them to come out and take care of. What a waste of my time! read more

Nothing but a half a$$ job and constantly coming in and out of my house were as they can make just one trip so they wouldn't have to come in and out. Find another provider. Their crew got to our house on time, and that might be the best thing I can say about them. They ran their hoses over the top and through our landscaping, rather than on the ground around it, so we have damaged bushes. Their method of window washing is not as effective as wash & squeegee. They did a half-hearted job of power washing the roof, barely doing the absolute minimum such that the spots they actually did wash stand out like a sore thumb against the rest of it. They didn't even remotely complete the scope of the job on the first visit, as they completely neglected the soffits, facias, and downspouts, missed most of the roof, and didn't touch any of the basement windows. I called them to complain and got no response to two voice mails, as Matt (the owner) is completely non-responsive; I had to email the main address and threaten to contact their franchisor before I finally got a response. They came back a second time to finish the job and again failed to do so, and the pavers and sidewalk around the house were covered in muddy footprints when they left. I could continue to chase them for a refund at this point, but I just want nothing more to do with them. read more
