We went with another couple, Saturday, to see the stage show; Beehive review. It's an intimate theater; where the audience is fairly close to the stage. Sitting center stage fourth row made it a visceral experience. There were times I thought they were singing to me. The review sang 60's girl group songs and had most of the audience singing along. The choreography was kinetic, the backup band was excellent. A little over an hour and a half of nostalgia and "good vibes". If you closed your eyes; you'd think it was the original performers. They were that good. It was exciting! Even the theater is reminiscent of the old theaters that every neighborhood had back in the 50's and 60's; before the mega multi-theaters took over. Overall, it was a pleasant and nostalgic Saturday afternoon. Sort of a dinner theater without the dinner. However, there's a place next door worth checking out afterwards.

OUTSTANDING. Professional cast with occasional local actors. Plays mostly, like awesome 'K2'. Frequently sold out, don't hesitate.....

Love this theater!…read more Built in 1948, this huge (350 seat!) theater is vintage but has been fully modernized, with a digital projector and Dolby. They show a mix of feature films, including the big-name first-run attractions but only have one screen. Technical quality is excellent. The arched roof (built on wooden beams--like a wooden ship, upside down) makes it like a big tube and you get that big movie theater sound. I love the history and the lobby is like a little museum. The original projector, a carbon-arc, 16-mm film projector, is there next to a display case (which used to be the candy counter) with old tickets, signage, and relics of the past. The lobby has posters from old showings, like Godfather, The Graduate. The ticket booth and many of the furnishings are original but the place is very clean and well organized. Fun fact: Originally the Harden Theater, named for its founder, it became the Arden Theater when the H fell off the marquee and the owner didn't want to be bothered to replace it. We had a birthday party there and the owner, Kristina was very helpful. They showed a movie at 10:30 on a Saturday, then we had cake and snacks in the lobby, then went to a local pizza place. Fun place for a party and a great theater.

It's a classic theater with a great old time vibe. Very clean. Family owned. I've been to it twice…read moreso far and looking forward to more this year.
