After groomer. (Where's her fluffy head?)

Their grooming service is bad enough to be classified unethical, and reflects poorly on the practice as a whole. After one horrid incident with a groomer who was obviously grossly incompetent this past summer, we were assured there was a new groomer who was good, so we decided to try their services again (for more than $200, both our dogs were to be bathed, brushed, and dried--it was not a full groom--no special services added). Still, the dogs were kept eight hours, and when we picked them up, they were neither dry, nor brushed out--they were wet, so I'm assuming they were at least bathed. While my husband has been with Jenny Schiebert for his dogs for 23 years, he is finally done. He has paid the business almost $3,000 in the past two months alone, and is so disappointed in the customer service that he is finally ready to move on. The practice has clearly adopted a business model that no longer makes good animal care and customer service a priority. After my husband's dog had his recent procedure, no one followed up with a call, as was once their practice. It is a shame to witness such a sad decline.

Thank you for taking great care of our pug at the vet hotel. one of your babies since 7 weeks old. Thank you all staff and p.s. her bath has her smelling good. We look forward to your new location.

A handsome little devil, I know!

From the very beginning, Misty was incredible. She carved out time weeks before the wedding for us to meet each other and talk about our dog's (Louie) temperament, our expectations, and the full game plan for the big day. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing she was prepared and genuinely cared about making everything go smoothly. On the wedding day, she was amazing. She arrived early to the Airbnb and was able to get used to walking and handling Louie. She walked Louie down the aisle, handled him and helped him greet guests during the ceremony and cocktail hour, and kept everything completely stress-free for us. She kept us updated via text throughout the day, and when it was time to drop him back off at our Airbnb in the evening, she sent photos and updates so we knew he was settled and happy. She even left us the sweetest wedding gift, which was such a thoughtful touch. Misty was kind, professional, organized, and clearly loves what she does. We are SO grateful for her and would absolutely book Dogs on the Run again. Highly, highly recommend!

The staff here was always so helpful and quick to respond throughout the whole process. From the start, I was able to call a week in advance and get information, and when I realized I couldn't book online the day before, they were able to assist and get me in with no problem. Communication was top notch. On top of that, I don't board my dog often because he can be quite nervous around new people and new dogs. However, they were so reassuring the entire time. They sent me an update and a photo in the middle of the day to settle my nerves. When I went to pick him up, he was resting so comfortably next to them. The next time I'm in the area, I'll definitely be using their services again! Thank you Staycation for Dogs!

I could hear the noise from her nose. Lindsay the Tech was awesome and was with her 80% of the time. Dr. Mason came in for about 5 minutes, put a scope in her mouth for 3 seconds and said "there's active bleeding." He wasn't believable. He said let's keep for a few hours. OK. They gave her fluids, gave her a pain med, also Miratz used for cats to make them eat by rubbing a salve on her ears. The bill for this was $700.00 !!!!! but the Snuffles was never addressed. Snuffles is an upper respiratory infection in rabbits. Diagnosis: she needs have her molars filed down for $1250-$1650.00 !!!!!! I am in shock with the price . Took my baby home and she was still not eating. Called Monday a.m. and told the receptionist I needed some type of antibiotic for her infection could someone pls call me. No one called. Tuesday morning I called back and said I need an antibiotic. NO ONE called back. I drove a round trip of 80 miles to get an antibiotic for $90.00. !!!!! What $90.00 ??? I was desperate but what vet gives a 6 pound rabbit w 2 weeks of an antibiotic? (Cha Ching $$$) Meanwhile I was rubbing the Mirataz on her ears and by Tuesday early eve she was having a toxic reaction. I thought she was dying. The Dr. finally called about 7pm Tuesday. "She was fine a few days ago. Take her to Emergency." I couldn't bc she never would've made the trip. I know she is "only a rabbit' but she is my fur baby. Surprisingly she survived after hours of a HORRIBLE reaction but I have not survived the bill. Moral of the story: this place makes you not want to have a pet. Who can afford these vet bills . Ridiculous. BTW they are CORPORATE owned not owned by the VET. If it's a corporation, stay away! Big difference. THINK TWICE !!!!!

After Frankie wasn't quite ready for daycare because she needed more positive socialization with other puppies, Paw Commons recommended Kristen's puppy social sessions. It turned out to be exactly what she needed. Like many rescue puppies, we don't know what Frankie's early life was like. Watching her gradually come out of her shell over the past several weeks has been incredibly rewarding. Kristen creates a safe, structured environment where puppies build confidence, learn appropriate social skills, enjoy enrichment activities and simply get to be puppies. Her years of experience are evident in the way she understands puppy behavior and thoughtfully guides each session. Seeing Frankie's confidence grow week after week has brought us so much joy. She now looks forward to Saturdays, and so do we. I especially recommend Puppy Social hour for rescue puppies. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, patient facilitator who truly understands puppy development, Kristen is exceptional. Thank you for giving Frankie such a positive start.

NEW UPDATE PER KARLY'S REPLY:…read more To clarify a few things: the meet and greet fee was not communicated to me at booking, and the fact that it was waived due to "confusion at pickup" speaks for itself. Transparency means the total cost is clear upfront, not discovered at checkout. Regarding outreach, one person called and one person emailed. The email from Karly was not an attempt to resolve the situation but rather an argument defending your pricing practices. That is not the same as making things right. No actual remedy was ever offered. Asking what would make it right without putting anything on the table is not a resolution. A gesture like a partial or full refund or a complimentary future stay would have gone a long way. Most concerning was the bath being performed after I explicitly declined it. That is not a communication issue, that is a matter of respecting a customer's wishes regarding their pet. I see from other reviews that pricing surprises are a recurring concern. I hope this feedback is taken seriously rather than attributed to customers not reading thoroughly enough. I also want to note that reading through their response, the pattern is clear: every concern I raised was met with an explanation of why I was wrong or hadn't read carefully enough. That is not accountability. The only thing they genuinely owned was the bath, and even that was buried at the end after multiple paragraphs defending themselves. A business that truly takes responsibility doesn't spend most of its response telling the customer they should have known better. -------------------------- I want to share my experience so other pet owners know what to expect before booking. When I called to make a Memorial Weekend reservation for my puppy, I was given a total price and told the first night would be free. At no point was I informed about a mandatory daily insurance fee ($5-$6/day). I only discovered it while signing paperwork at drop-off. When I called to raise this concern, Michael told me it is not their job to disclose additional charges over the phone - that it is meant to be mentioned at drop-off. So by their own admission, they intentionally withhold fee information until you are already there signing paperwork with your dog in tow. When I followed up via email, Karly shifted the explanation, saying the fee is listed on their website under "add-ons", a label that implies optional, not mandatory. At pickup, they also attempted to charge an undisclosed meet-and-greet fee. They waived it, but it was yet another surprise charge. Most frustratingly, I explicitly declined a bath since my puppy had just been groomed. They bathed her anyway, and I had to take her home wet. California's SB 478 Honest Pricing Law exists for exactly this reason. Required fees must be disclosed upfront, not revealed at drop-off when you are least likely to walk away. The facility seemed fine, but the pattern of hidden fees, contradictory explanations, and disregarded instructions means I will not be returning. To Paw Commons management: before attempting to negate this review, please know I have email receipts documenting everything stated here. A good business responds to legitimate feedback with accountability and an apology, not by attacking the reviewer. UPDATE: After posting my review, I was contacted by Ben (manager/owner). He did apologize, which I appreciated, but the call was otherwise unproductive -- no real remedy was offered, just justifications for how they run their business. He defended burying mandatory fees under the "Add Ons" section by saying they "assume" customers read through the entire site, and that having two insurance coverage options makes it too complicated to list fees upfront. That's not a valid excuse. There are plenty of ways to present two options clearly while still showing customers what they'll actually owe per night. Additionally, a meet and greet fee was charged that is nowhere on their website and was never mentioned at check-in. Surprise fees should not be how customers find out what they owe. An apology without a willingness to fix these issues doesn't change my experience.
