After taking X-rays, I was told she would be fine with just a splint and that surgery was NOT needed. I trusted that advice, because that's what you're supposed to be able to do when you go to a vet. Days later, I get a voicemail from Dr. Goren admitting that after "really reviewing" the X-rays -- including images they already had but somehow didn't properly review -- they now believe my dog actually DOES need surgery and that it may not heal correctly without it. So my dog was sent home in pain with the WRONG treatment plan because they didn't even fully review her imaging the first time? That is not a small mistake. That is negligence. This delay could have serious consequences for my dog's recovery, all because of a lack of attention to detail. What makes this even worse is the emotional stress and complete betrayal of trust this has caused. As a pet owner, you rely on professionals to guide you during scary situations like this, and instead I was given false reassurance that directly impacted my dog's care. I paid for professional care and instead got careless decision-making and a complete lack of thoroughness. Now my dog may have to go through more pain, more stress, and more expense because of their mistake. If your pet has anything serious going on, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else or get a second opinion immediately. I would not trust this place with my pet's health again.

The responsiveness alone was impressive. At drop-off, the surgery technician, Jorge, was incredible. He was knowledgeable, personable, and immediately put us at ease, especially since this was Ruby's first surgery requiring anesthesia. During our conversation and bringing up a certain topic, he mentioned he recently attended a dental conference which reassured us that the team is committed to continuing education and staying current with best practices. Dr. Gertz, whom Ruby has seen previously for routine care, was wonderful as always. She performed the initial exam, confirmed that the tooth appeared fractured, and explained that the team would call with a definitive diagnosis once dental X-rays had been completed. The treatment plan was straightforward - anesthesia, dental X-rays, bloodwork to ensure levels were appropriate before surgery, and a cleaning with extraction if necessary. A few hours after drop-off, we received a call confirming that the tooth was indeed fractured, although surprisingly still alive. Dr. Luna took the time to thoroughly explain the findings and our options. At no point did we feel pressured. She clearly outlined the pros and cons of proceeding versus monitoring the tooth and explained that leaving it untreated would likely lead to problems in the future. After discussing everything, we decided to move forward with the extraction since she was already under anesthesia. No more than a few minutes later, the team called again because they realized the cost of the updated treatment plan had not been reviewed. I actually hadn't noticed because I already trusted that the recommendation was medically appropriate and that the pricing would be fair (which it was). Still, I appreciated their transparency and professionalism in making sure every detail was discussed before proceeding. When we picked Ruby up around 2:00pm, Jorge spent considerable time reviewing her full-mouth dental X-rays with us and explaining exactly why the extraction was recommended. It was fascinating to learn more about canine dentistry, and we left feeling far more informed than when we arrived. He answered all of our questions patiently and thoroughly (even the ones that were already covered in the aftercare packet we had just been handed!). We also were given a full sized sample of a recommended oral rinse for regular maintenance. Ruby recovered exceptionally well from the surgery, which was a huge relief. She had previously undergone sedation prior to X-rays at another clinic years ago and did not have a great experience, so we were naturally nervous. This time, her recovery was smooth, the extraction site is healing beautifully, and she came home comfortable with appropriate pain medication. She has shown no signs of discomfort throughout the recovery process. I also want to recognize Lauren at the front desk. She was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful throughout the process. She worked with us to ensure detailed notes were included in Ruby's chart to help prevent potential insurance issues and even went a step further by following up with the doctor after we left to request additional documentation that could support a smoother claims process. That level of attention and advocacy is rare and deeply appreciated. Overall, this was an outstanding experience from start to finish. We even received a call a few days after her surgery to simply check in on her recovery. From the front office staff to the technicians and veterinarians, every person we interacted with was compassionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in Ruby's well-being. The communication was outstanding, the care was exceptional, and we never once felt rushed or pressured. Ruby is family to us, and the trust we place in those caring for her is not something we take lightly. We are incredibly grateful for the entire team and feel completely confident entrusting them with the health and care of both of our dogs. SoCal Vet is the place to go for your pet's dental cleanings. My Pug just has the worst dental…read moreissues, bad breath, lots of visible tarter, etc. I worry about her health and if she's in pain, so I set out to get her evaluated. SoCal Vet quoted me 1/3 of the price of other Vets in my area- about $700 for a 20lb doggy with poor dental. The price included blood work, x-rays, anesthesia, meds, AND extractions. My pug needed quite a few teefs removed. They clipped her nails free of charge. The Gentlemen (forgive me, I forgot his name) who went over x-rays and cleaned her teeth is great at what he does! I have since taken her back for a dental check, and brought my other pug. Both were sedated and received the full dental treatment. The price has remained the same for each! Dr and Staff are sweet; they are busy, but very kind. Def recommend them.

We had been looking for a sitter/walker to handle our 2 high energy babies on the days I have to stay downtown all day. Our dogs met Alec and they were very happy. We felt comfortable allowing him in our home and to walk our pups. Our dogs do pull & take a while to settle, especially after being inside for a while, so we didn't want just anyone handling them. He provided photos and videos & great communication as to what happened and what they did during their time with him. So I was thankful to have a new recommendation. My Frenchie had done something to his eye, and it was rather urgent that we be seen. I loved the ease of being able to hop online and see what their availability is whether it be that day or further out, as well as being able to filter out that availability by your chosen doctor. When we arrived, the staff was super welcoming and kind. We had a room right away. The doctor was so sweet with my dog. Not only did she do a thorough exam, she was great about explaining each step, and each medication. I definitely felt like she was invested in the health of my dog and not pushing anything that I didn't need. She seemed very honest and forthcoming. She explained the healing process and what we would need to do as far as next steps. I would definitely recommend if you live in the area or even if you have to drive a bit to get there to take your animal to see Dr. Goode! My dog went from being nervous that we were at a veterinarians office to being happy as a little clam due to the care and, of course, the love and extra snacks he was given!

Dr. George was very thorough in trying to figure out what was going on with her. Unfortunately, it was our sweet cat's time to go to heaven. Christina, the Director of Mohnacky was so kind and compassionate. If it weren't for her, we probably wouldn't have brought our cat back in, and she would have suffered. Christina helped us through the most painful time for our family. She let us have the room with our sweet kitty as long as we needed, before and after the end of life treatment. They sedated him bcuz he was stressed and then handed me a dog with little to no instructions except "if his tongue turns blue get him to an emergency vet". He's a French bulldog and if anyone knows this breed, they have a really hard time coming out of sedation. Theo was OUT! He wasn't eating or drinking so I kept calling to ask questions since I was never given any after care instructions (minus the "if his tongue turns blue takes him to an emergency vet"). Monday it started, by THURSDAY when I was the only one calling them...I had enough. No one EVER called to schedule his surgeries, I called Monday evening, Tuesday, Wednesday and THURSDAY. Every time to be told by (even the doctor) they'd call me back, no one ever called. The excuses were endless. While they didn't charge me for anything except the exam, I would not recommend taking your pet here. Thursday AFTERNOON I was told they wanted to switch doctors bcuz Dr Southern (I think that's her name) was "more hands on" but I had already told the front desk around 8a-9a that's day I'd never let them touch my dog again. Clearly the communication is lacking there. Denise* also had an attitude because I asked what my bill was and in which she replied "I'm not getting into it with you." So when it comes to your pet or the bill, Denise has no time or patience for customers. Frustration doesn't even begin to cover what I felt. I found another vet to to do his surgeries...$3000 LESS than Mohnacky and they specialize in the French Bulldog breed. I won't even get into the what Mohnacky was going to charge me...I had a few vets look the estimate I was given by Mohnacky and they were all in disbelief. My quote from Mohnacky was $5575 without his teeth cleaning (another $487 on top of $5575). I paid $3025 for neuter, removal of bladder stones, teeth cleaning and teeth extractions and labs at a vet in San Diego. The new vet also didn't charge me for X-rays since Mohnacky wasn't sharing my dogs medical record with them and they said it was not mine or my dogs fault. I had to call Mohnacky to finally ask for his records, I was put on hold and then hung up on. When I called again I told them I couldn't hold and the girl knew exactly who I was without me even saying a word, with a sigh she said "this is for Theo?" I got the email; they did not email the new vet as they said they would. Mohnacky also changes vets so much, my dog has seen Dr. Saaco, Dr. Yaeger, Dr Bulliard, another at vista I don't remember his name and then Dr. George in a span of 2yrs. I asked the front desk if they rotated doctors through their facilities, she said no. Dr Saaco has been the only one I've liked but she is no longer there and has her own practice in San Marcos. A LOT of red flags! I personally will ever take another pet here or any other Mohnacky in North County. I wouldn't allow them to change my goldfish's water honestly.

We were looking for our fur-ever friend going on months, after scouring every shelter and having…read morethe WORST experience with the Humane Society, we decided to give this place a chance when we got rave reviews from a friend who also adopted her dog here. It was a really clean facility, well kept, organized, and everyone there was super friendly and helpful. You can really see how much they love their animals. We were there going back and forth between a few dogs before we finally came to a consensus as a family, but we honestly wanted all three! Fees were straight forward, current vaccines, microchipped, and fixed was completely worth it. The paperwork was quick and painless as well. The only downfall is that it is on base and kind of hidden, we had a hard time finding it even with the GPS. The other thing was that even though her paperwork said her stitches were removed a couple weeks prior, it actually was not. Only reason I didn't dock any stars is because the vet we took her to did it for free and I'm hoping it was just an issue of miscommunication. All in all, we would recommend this place to anyone looking to rescue!
