Price, not bad. Sites were clean and well maintained, but very difficult to get longer rigs into. The noise from the I-8 was really loud. Kinda ruins the "oasis" vibe they are trying to create. The good spots are taken by full timers. Nice enough staff, just not a place I would go again with my current RV. Says it's easy to get into from the freeway, but it's not. Make sure your GPS doesn't take you the back way through the neighborhood too. That hill was not fun! read more

Pro: Probably has the best clean bathroom/shower of any campsites we've been to. Hot showers were great. Con: the noises from being next to the freeway were just unbelievably. Worst 2 nights we ever had from any of our camping trips. The noises were non stop. You literally can't fall asleep at all. Around 2am, there was an AH drove around the campground blasting music so loud that the ground was literally shaking and set off few car alarms. If you're a light sleeper this place is definitely not for you. Absolutely horrible. read more

Kicked us out for running our generator during the hours they said we could run it. Neighbors are all angry and unfriendly (understandably living is SoCal). Wasn't able to confirm if it was an angry neighbor who did it but someone put a large turd, yes, a human turd in our toddlers toy dump truck - there are no words. The place is overpriced, the interstate is extremely loud and theft is rampant at the property. I would not recommend giving this RV park your money. read more

We loved everything about this campground. The location was perfect. The pool was very nice and the food grill was fantastic. We stayed here while attending some events in San Diego and found its location to be very convenient, especially with a trolley stop a short walk away. Lonnie and Tupu were super friendly and accommodating. It has some of the newest and cleanest bathrooms we've seen over the 25 years we've been staying at rv resorts. We have been staying at SD RV Resort for over 10 years. It's a smaller resort with a great pool area and helpful staff. We have a bigger rig and the east side sites provide ample space and easy parking. Great location with many great restaurants, grocery shopping and most anything you need in the area. Jenn has been the manager for the past couple of years and she is the absolute best! We look forward to our stay every year! read more

The staff at San Diego RV resort are exceptional. I cannot emphasize enough the professionalism and understanding the staff have for their residents. Josh's arrival has not gone unnoticed. As a frequent flyer here and experiencing the past staffers I'd argue that Josh is the unicorn. He understands the customer service role and will seek out all avenues to ensure the residents feel special and safe on their visits. I'm devastated to have to edit this review, Jenn and Claire have left us and this park has gone downhill. Events are sad and pathetic, customer service is lacking in the front office, and at this point we're feeling targeted despite being here for over two years. The staff blatantly lied about communication between us and them regarding rent, which was NEVER late before Natalie and Keith started working in the office. They refused to put a note in regarding how we've ALWAYS paid our rent. We absolutely loved calling this place home, the staff was nothing but wonderful and hard working before Jenn and Claire left! The pool was always well kept and now there's nothing but molding floaties. The grounds are always maintained, amenities feel clean, and there used to be all sorts of fun and engaging activities but now it's subpar gatherings that lack the same excitement as before. This place doesn't feel like home anymore. I cannot in good faith recommend anyone stay here anymore. read more

We recently spent a month here (September 2023), and we hope to return in the future. Our space (#18) was clean and level and gave us plenty of room to put up a little fence to keep the doggy and the kitty sequestered. Because the park uses a pinwheel layout, each rig in our quadrant had a privacy yard. Since I love all things railroad, the view of the San Diego trolley flying by on the hill above our park was a free bonus! Of special note, the folks in the front office, Jennifer, Josh and Claire, were incredibly helpful any time we had a special need or odd request. The showers and laundry were pristine, thanks to Sophia and Annabelle. And every time I needed to take a midnight walk with the elderly dog, Abduli, the night security guard, was out and about, keeping an eye on things. We felt extremely safe and that our belongings were secure here. I don't know who cared for the beautiful pool area, but it was awesome. Sparkling clean water, lots of lounge chairs in shade and sun and a spa/hot tub to relax in post-laps. The grounds are well maintained with plenty of shade trees and tall hedges for privacy. Folks with dogs could do a better job of cleaning up after themselves, since there are plenty of doggy waste bag dispensers and garbage cans along the roads, as well as a small, fenced dog area. Also, as an e-biker, I truly appreciated the proximity to the trolley station. All I had to do was walk to the west end of the park, go through a private, coded gate and there was my ride! I took the trolley with my bike (you can just walk on!) towards downtown multiple times, to ride along the waterfront, to Point Loma, and up through San Diego State and out to Balboa Park. I also took the trolley downtown multiple days for an event at the Convention Center. Who needs to pay big bucks for parking or deal with the hassle of commuter traffic? We can't comment on the in-house internet because we took advantage of the TenGo service. The $45 monthly plan provided stream-worthy data service for the month for all of our devices, including two phones, two laptops and one TV. Regarding freeway noise, yes, this park is along Interstate 8. There's a tall wall between the park and the freeway, but noise bubbles over. Since we tend to open our windows at night (and when the days are below 75), we could imagine that the noise was wind in the trees. To be honest, we've driven all over the country in the past year and many of the nicest parks we've stayed in are along main thoroughfares - because it's easy for long trailers to maneuver to them. That's just the name of the RV game. I give this place 5 stars! read more

This lil spot along the freeway is always, for me, pretty handy. I stay elsewhere but there's no place to dump. For $20, I can roll up and spend some time dumping and cleaning my tanks. Staff is super nice and nobody bugs you; even if you're in an old ragged-looking RV. LoL. With the whole virus hoohah going on, they let you pay over the phone then tell you where you can go to dump. It's quick, convenient and there when I need it. The grounds seem to be rather well kept. The garbage cans are always empty; they seem to be on top of that. I don't have a big ol' rig... so, getting around in there isn't too difficult. I could see how a big fella could have issues. Primarily because the campers park their cars/trucks in non-designated areas. That would be my only recommendation- maybe "police" that a little bit more? Outside of that- seems like a decent place to stay. Staff has always been nice and welcoming (on the phone). The price point for a monthly stay is one of the more economical in San Diego, even if it's still out of my personal budget! I would totally like be staying here if I hadn't lost my handyman/construction job like so many others! read more

We have stayed at many RV parks throughout the years while traveling for work and when we are in the San Diego area we always come back to this park. The level of hospitality, maintenance of the grounds, and cleanliness of facilities are unmatched. This park offers a unique layout design for each site to maximize its beautiful landscaping and provide each rig with plenty of space between others. The park is centrally located to everything you need and easy access to the interstate. With that being said look at a map. The park is right next to the interstate, and there is road noise, which is something visitors should expect Since most RV parks are located near major roadways it's not out of the norm. Sad to see all the negative reviews over the noise after witnessing how hard the staff works to make every guest's stay perfect. On that note, I would like to say thank you to Jennifer, Maggie, and Josh for always providing us with warm smiles and amazing customer service. Encountered nothing but friendly and helpful staff throughout our stay (Maggie is awesome!). From the campsites/grounds to the gym to the bathrooms everything is clean! Some people are concerned about the road noise so just be strategic when picking your site and that will be minimized. The town of LaMesa is just a few blocks away with everything from morning coffee, to casual shopping to restaurants and fun events at night. Also the tram is literally connected at one end of the park so you can get anywhere in the city without driving. We will definitely be back! read more

My wife and I have coming down to the resort for a couple of years now. It is very convenient to downtown San Diego and to our kids house. Although it is a little on the pricey side there are no real options for us. The convenience cost. Es at a cost. You are on Rt. 8 but after a while you start to ignore the oise. It is a very basic resort with the pool hot tub abd gym plus other ammeretto listed on their website. The place is very clean and securely guards do walk around. We feel very safe here. The reason for the 3 stars is the last 2 years we have been coming we have yet to be able to use the 2 now 1 gas grill provided by the pool area. I have mentioned it and the staff assured me it would be fix but as of today the one grill left is unusable. We have been here almost a month and no sing of it being replaced before we leave. The other thing is that if you stay less than 2 weeks you are now charged for electricity but one day over and you get charged and no credit is given. Seems a bit unfair to me. It's not usually a large amount but you would logically think that the first 2 weeks should be free no matter how long the stay. We will be coming back because we do like the convenience of resort. read more

Anyone can write a review when things are all good, but it's when things are not perfect and get to see how they take care of you that matters. Someone had taken our late check in packet when we arrived at 9pm. A 3 minute phone call later and they took care of us and gave us our choice of spots. In the morning, we checked to see if we needed to move as the spot we picked was a higher tier and they told us to not worry about it and stay where we were. Sarah at the front desk was very nice and friendly. There was a security guard keeping an eye on the area once the office closed. We used the pool and the restrooms around the pool and both were clean and well maintained. We plan on heading down to San Diego again for a couple more weekends and will be staying here for sure! read more

Pricey place for Average Location 5% booking fee on top of already over priced resort .. my neighbor kept blocking me in asked office to correct this ..had to knock on neighbors Rv to have him move his truck .. lame excuse I leave at 5 AM. Front office was all over the place with pricing cost more to stay longer or monthly . Luckily another location was able to extend my stay and offer a better rate . Sara at this place is very rude. we booked a week spot for someone to take up half of our spot. I went into the office to talk about the problem. I was ignored and ripped off for half of my spot for a week. the manager didn't wanna deal with the situation. Sara mentioned during her review her customer service and problem solving was her weak spot, boy were they right. Sara has no customer service skills and honesty a straight attitude. this park needs new management for sure. I will never pay 1000 to stay somewhere of this standard ever again. read more

Overall good park for SoCal. Around $1500 for a month. Electricity is charged separate. Spots are small but surprisingly work really well. Park is quiet with the ambience of people.. but the traffic noise is NOT quiet. The pool is taken care of. There's a hot tub. Small gym (lat pull down and pec dec/leg extension machine with DBs, treadmill, elliptical, bike). Tiny dog "park" that smells awful but is a place to let dogs be off leash for a bit. Some people live there long term and were grandfathered in. They no longer do long-term (that they advertise). Staff is friendly and helpful. Right next to the tran station. read more

Grounds are clean but spaces are difficult to get into with my 29' fifth wheel. No store no Ice no services of any kind. I will keep looking for a better park down this way. read more
