Im not one to complain but My experience here has been so frustrating. The Dentist himself is nice and professional but his front desk/ dental assistant is I would have to say the rudest women I have ever been in contact with at a company. Ive worked in medical and Dental before and Know that customer service is very important when running a business as well as first impressions. She is very rude, talks over you and raises her voice, doesn't return messages but will call you several times and hound you. She is very unprofessional. I couldn't believe the tone she was using with me. I am now being harassed to pay for a service that they said was covered by my Insurance. I wasn't expecting for it to be covered 100% but I wasn't prepared to pay 100% after they said it would be fine, if not I would have never got that service. I like the dentist but because of his office staff in pact of professionalism I will not be back or will not refer anyone to him because I haven't had a good experience at all. update; I have left 3 messages with the receptionist for him to give me a call back and every time she takes down mu number and he never returns my call. I have gotten a bill from them I would like to talk about and they give you 3 days before sending it to collections. read more

When you try to make appointments as a new client, this dental office makes you go call your insurance to get your coverage. I told them I never had to do that because its the dental office's responsibility to do that. They insisted, so I gave a call to my insurance company. The insurance company told me that that dental office need to call themselves. What a hassle for a new client. When we actually got there, his service was rough, wasn't gentle or pleasant. He also quoted very high prices for us, just to do filling. My husband got it done with another dentist for a lot less. Plus, when we tried to get the X-ray from him, he said his computer had virus and therefore couldn't give it to us. When we asked for another exam, his computer virus was suddenly gone. I HATE going to the dentist. I get terrible anxiety which kicks up my adrenaline, and I don't react to the anesthetic easily. Therefore, it is usually a battle between the Dentist and my mouth before I feel the anesthetic kick in. To my dismay, I needed an extraction which I had been putting off since I dread going to the dentist. My friend recommended Dr. Sayedna, and I decided to give him a try. He was excellent!!! He listened to my concerns, and he was able to numb me on the first try. Dr. Sayedna performed my extraction with minimal discomfort. I went into his office petrified, and I left a lot more calm and collected. I strongly recommend this Dentist! He's a good dentist and very personable. I cracked my molar and called his cell phone immediately on what to do. (Was holiday weekend so everything was closed) Scheduled me an appointment to get fixed days later. How many dentists actually do that? Somewhat surprised by the negative reviews calling him "unethical" and "avoid this place"..... This couldn't be the farthest from the truth in my opinion. The office is small (no fancy Beverly Hills, Miami style decor) but it's clean and does the job. His assistant is calming and nice. This is a dentist office, you are not going in to get a relaxing massage people. I have had about 3 different insurance companies with Dr. Sayedna as my doctor (thanks Obama... insert sarcasm) PPO & HMO and I never had a problem with him accepting my insurance. Sadly, most people go to dentists and different doctors WITHOUT actually reading their scope of benefits and get all fussy and mad when they realize they have to pay money or some things are not covered. (Sorry Jack, thats your fault) READ YOUR BENEFITS FIRST! With that said, he's a genuine cool dude so kudos for that. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Sayedna for over 10 years. He and his assistant Natalie, have made my treatments very pleasant. The office visits are thorough yet efficient and they manage all dealings with my insurance company. In fact, I had a dental issue while overseas that required an out-of-pocket payment. Upon my return, Dr. Sayedna checked on the work that was done and immediately reimbursed me for my cost, rather than me having to file a claim with my insurance company. I feel like Dr. Sayedna means well, but in my opinion he should leave the receptionist duties to the receptionists. When I first called, the receptionist told me that it was her lunch break and that she would take my info and call me back-she didn't (STRIKE 1) So when I called back, Dr. Sayedna answered, "Hello?" Which caught me off guard since this is a place of business (this could'ave been STRIKE 2, but I am understanding). He immediately apologized and said that he thought I was a telemarketer since I called from my work phone-- I laughed it off, no harm to foul. But when I realized my job switched our insurance companies, I immediately called to make sure I was still covered. I was told I was covered (without being asked my new cards ID #) by Dr. S.. So when I showed up and was told that I, in fact, was NOT covered I was pretty upset. That was exactly what I tried to avoid by calling ahead of time (actual STRIKE 2). I even overheard the assistant telling the Dr. that she checked my insurance and it was not covered... So at that point why would she not call me to save me the time?? I was given an option to go ahead and pay upfront, then get reimbursed after clearing things up with my insurance. I thought about it but opted to leave based on the principle of the matter. It was already a frustrating situation, but to add insult to injury, the Dr. was totally blunt and unapologetic as if I had solely put myself in this predicament. If I could give negative stars, I definitely would. I usually do not leave reviews, but Dr. Sayedna's treatment was just so poor and so unprofessional that I see it as my responsibility to save the future victims! I received some dental treatment about 2 years ago from Dr. Shahram Sayedna, DDS. He treated eleven different teeth some as MOD, all with composite fillings in two appointments! (a total of ~4hrs). After the treatment, a lot of my teeth were super sensitive and despite of making multiple follow up visits and complaints, Dr. Sayedna told me that was just normal!! In less than a year I had to redo some of the work that he had done, my bite was not adjusted which took another dentist about half an hour to just adjust my bite. Moreover in less than 18 months I had to treat a couple of teeth that he had filled while the rest of my teeth were in good shape, i.e. my dental hygiene is not too bad. To make long story short, many problems have been caused by his treatment and I contacted his office multiple times, where I spoke with his secretary. Each time she assured me that the Dr. would get in touch with me within 48 hrs but yet I am waiting to hear back from him. Now I truly believe in the saying "we are not rich enough to buy cheap things" and he is a perfect example of it. Half of my teeth are ruined forever and every bite that I take, reminds of my bad decision. Please don't hurt yourself as I did by visiting Dr. Sayedna's office. Also the previous review's comment about the work place and staff are 150% true and I could not agree with him more. read more

Worse dentist I ever met. The place was not clean. I went today to the "clinic". It was smaller than my kitchen. The dentist wasn't there. I went down to ask for him because at the 2nd floor there were nobody. The assistant told me that he was taking a shower and he will be in a second. I decided to leave. read more

Dr. Sayenda has been extremely professional and did excellent work on a couple large and difficult inlays on my molars. He explains each step of the cost determination process and will even go over your insurance pay plan with you to show what's covered and what's not. He also explains each step of the dental work that he and his assistants do, and this helped me feel like there were no surprises. I changed to Dr. Sayedna about a year ago. I read the reviews and decided to give Dr. Sayedna a chance bc he was convenient (down the street) despite some unusual reviews of him, his assistant, and his office. Parking is a nightmare in the tiny older medical plaza on Westwood blvd. My first appointment went okay. His office is a bit odd and shares a couple feet of stuffy lobby with another chiro? office. There is a small window that is his reception window and the receptionist is also either the dentist or dental assistant. The assistant/receptionist led me to a room and started preparations. When Dr. Sayedna came in and examined my teeth, he told me that I had two cavities that needed to be filled (even though my previous dentist that I had actually seen recently made no mention of them)...sure, maybe he's so good that he finds problems other dentists missed! He seemed confident about it (even though my teeth were not all that painful) so I decided to have them filled. It was a little rough going but he did ask if I was doing okay and I did say all was fine. That night I went home and an hour later ate food with a numb cheek. After the numbness went away, I realized that I had chewed holes in my cheeks having not felt them. I wasn't so happy that I was given no written or oral instructions but okay maybe I should have known. That day I also filled in a postcard for a 6 month routine dental cleaning reminder....great! I get a reminder...and dental cleaning every 6 months was something I routinely got as part of my HMO and I had never paid anything out-of-pocket except maybe a copay ($5). The postcard came to me and I called in and said I got your postcard for my routine dental cleaning...can I make an appt ...sure! made for monday. Monday - the receptionist calls me and said that the dentist had not come in yet and was not able to be reached by phone. The appt had to be rescheduled but it was unknown when the dentist will be available. I told her that I took the day off and needed to come in. This was completely unprofessional but hey maybe it was a personal emergency. She said she will call me back when he shows up. An hour later, she calls me back and says he is there but may need to see some other appts first since they were earlier in the morning. Well alright then...I go in later! The receptionist/dental assistant gets me in a chair and says she may need to do xrays. I ask if there are any extra cost and she said it is part of the visit. Okay sounds good...Dr S comes in and checks xrays, says all is good, and starts cleaning my teeth for 5 maybe 7 minutes. The assistant then takes over. Both say my teeth look good and I do a good job taking care of them. I fill out a postcard for my 6month cleaning, happy about my good job with my teeth and no cavities, and start to leave. The dentist is talking to his friend on his cellphone in the reception area about a trip he took over the weekend. The dentist turns to me while on the phone and goes "you owe $66". I was stunned but paid and called my HMO. They said cleaning is covered twice a year, so I go back. I tell him dental cleaning is covered so why am I paying. I get cleaning routinely twice a year for the last ten years and never pay. He said that this time I got a periodontal cleaning which is a deep cleaning. I told him that I had scheduled a routine cleaning not a periodontal cleaning. He told me that I needed a periodontal cleaning, (even though they had just told me my teeth were good). I had asked prior too if there were any extra charges and they said no but he said that they meant for the xrays. 1)No one ever explained to me how my teeth were doing or my two fillings or my root canal or veneer (done elsewhere), 2)No one ever told me that my teeth were "dirty", had a lot of plaque, and needed a different deep cleaning, 3)No one ever told me that there was an additional cost or presented me with an estimate. I asked him if I had to pay $66 every time I got a biannual cleaning and he said yes. Apparently it was my fault since I should have scheduled and said a "polishing" covered by my insurance and not a cleaning. I have never had this problem before...and I would actually be fine with paying extra if the dentist was honest and said your teeth have a lot of plaque under the gums and they need a deep cleaning not a routine cleaning and it will cost more. Instead I scheduled what I thought was a routine cleaning, was not told anything about my teeth except all looks good, was not given an estimate, and was charged extra upon leaving. The money is not the issue. I felt that I was deceived. Now I wonder if I really had two cavities that needed to be filled 6 months ago. I immediately changed dentist. My entire experience has been inconvenient (parking), unusual (odd office, dentist as receptionist, dental assistant as receptionist and assistant), non-professional, dishonest, hidden charges, and painful. read more

Worst dentist I've ever been to. This one dentist doubles as the receptionist, dental assistant, and x-ray technician. It was a one man show. it seems like most of his patients are friends of his. I waited in the waiting room for a while with an appointment and a few people walked in.The doc greeted them with hugs and had a conversation like they've been longtime friends. He took them in right away ahead of me. Not only that, once it was my turn, he points out on the xray....hmm, it looks like you have a cavity right here. That was actually one of my metal fillings and I pointed that out to him. We said...oh you're right. I also had to point out to him my two impacted canine teeth, because he hadn't noticed them on the xray. I only wanted the cleaning covered by my HMO and he recommended the $90 deep cleaning. The second I told him I only wanted the cleaning covered by my insurance, he became unfriendly. He carelessly rushed the teeth polishing and i was done about 2 minutes after that. Not a good dentist at all. Careless and unprofessional. He also plays techno music in the waiting room which is weird for a dentists office. read more

I came to see Dr. Sayedna yesterday for cleaning and check-up. The doctor and his assistant were very attentive and took their time to listen to my concerns and address them (which is rarely found!). The cleaning went well, they did not rush to get the job done paying attention to details. Not to mention Dr. Sayedna's humor and easy going personality which made the visit a good experience.
