Don't judge a book by the cover, I work across the street and am new to LA, I usually walked past on my way to lunch so it was time to get a checkup. I walked in and was greeted by Dr B , a pleasant and cordial lady. I made my appointment effortlessly and with a two day notice. Appointment day it was the typical filling out of the charts, medical questions and exchange of ID and Insurance cards. After the formalities I was taken into a modern and clean examination and work space. Digital x rats and photography was used as a digital file was created as I sat there. Dr B went over my tooth conditions and explained her recommendations. Basically I'm in good shape with a few minor fillings needed. After the exam Dr B cleaned and polished my teeth in the most painless procedure. I was very comfortable and nearly fell asleep. Next week I am scheduled for my fillings. Great location , street parking, clean office. Dr B is also a USC graduate ‍! read more

Dr. Hala is thorough, gentle, kind, clean and safe. I personally don't like going to the dentist, but I do enjoy going to Dr. Hala. I've referred all my friends and coworkers to her. Prior to meeting Dr. Hala I spent several years looking for a good dentist. Every dentist I met seemed to recommend unnecessary and expensive products. I'm very grateful that this office reopened under new management of Dr. Hala and Dr. Ahmadi. Dr. Hala has worked on my teeth since I was 6 years old. Although I was not always the best patient, she is the only person I have full faith in to work on me. She has a gentle hand and is very patient. She is kind, friendly, and very knowledgeable in the new techniques that make every visit as painless as possible. The fact that she talks to me throughout any procedure because she knows I get nervous really calms me down. Her front office manager, Maria is very lively and sociable. She works very hard at making patients feel comfortable as we all know the dentist can be a bit frightening. I highly recommend giving them a visit and a chance if you want to have beautiful teeth and to be under the care of someone who really cares about and gets to know their patients. I don't understand all the negative reviews here and 100% disagree. Dr. Bagherpour is extremely educated, caring and hardworking. I'm probably the most sensitive person about my teeth and completely OCD. I spend several hours brushing and flossing my teeth a day. I despise going to the dentist but she helped me conquer my utter fear and phobia. I was really scared and hated dentists before going to her. She did a great job. I've had nearly all my teeth filled: even the front ones because of grinding. She even made me a mouth guard to help with my grinding. She is such a sweetheart and kind. I recommended her to my friends. All my family members also go to her. I've never had to wait that long, even if I did I didn't mind because she's very, very good. Some dentists scammed me in the back and hurt me so badly I didn't want to go to them ever but she is great. I spent a lot on my teeth despite insurance and got the result I expected. She even showed me on the X-ray what was wrong with my teeth unlike other scammers who were desperate to just make money, she actually cares. The only con is that the building seems a little beat up and it's not like a Beverly Hills office or anything like that but I don't care. I got good results. Thank you Dr. B. I absolutely loved my dental experience here. The staff is so kind. The dentist are amazing. I felt well taken care of. I went in for a check up and a cleaning, and it didn't hurt one bit. Dr. Hala and Dr. Ahmadi are the best dentists my family have ever had. My father, aunt, and myself are all loyal patients. I loved Dr. Hala so much that I have referred all my co-workers and friends. And as soon as they met her, they fell in love. It's like we are all a part of her family. She is the most gentle and compassionate dentist. As soon as you walk in, you feel her warmth and caring nature. Dr. Ahmadi is excellent as well, and has completed multiple root canals, bridges, and extractions for my father. He is so fast and inefficient. Also a very funny doctor. Don't waste your time at a corporate chain that only sees you as a number. I have been there and done that. Dr. Hala and Dr. Ahmadi treat you like family. If you don't believe me, give them a try. I've been Dr. Hala's patient for almost 15 years now. I've NEVER walked out on a dental or doctor appointment until I came here. It was just all wrong. 1. I had an appointment and still had to wait for an hour before I was seen. The lady kept saying to me "5 minutes. sorry" after I had been waiting 30 minutes. Not to mention that some pushy bloke came in the office and signed in AFTER me but was seen first. 2. Waiting was made even worse by the fact that it was like a greenhouse in the waiting room. Soooo hot! I would expect a place that should care about hygiene and things being properly sanitized to be cool enough. Doesn't heat breed bacteria? 3. The layout of the "rooms" was so odd...it wasn't even really individual rooms as there was another man getting his mouth worked on about 6 feet away from me in just another part of the room I was in. 4. The first lady to get my mouth prepped was weird and condescending. I literally started fearing for my health and proper care and just had to get up and leave. Seriously, I am NOT one to overly complain, but this was the worst experience. I immediately called my insurance to switch my assigned dentist. read more

I was originally assigned to them as part of my Blue Shield Dental HMO. I have periodontal disease so I have a lot of experience as a patient. All I can say is DON'T go there. Here's why: The radio was blaring ( who wants to listen to commercials when having work done on your teeth). Soothing classical or no music is always better. You are literally around 6ft away from the other patient being worked on. When they took my X-Rays, the assistant was in such a hurry that the machine was shaking and obviously the X Rays didn't come out very clear (when I took them to my next dentist, he said they weren't very good x-rays). Dr Mahnaz Bagherpour did the check up (I guess she owns the place). They recommended Deep Cleaning and quoted me around $560 over and above what my HMO would pay for (I later found out through my HMO that my out of pocket should have been $40 per quadrant, $160 total). Now I'm not contesting the diagnosis, as I do have periodontal disease. But when I asked how long it would take, they said around 45 minutes. Regular cleanings take from 30-45 minutes, Deep Cleanings take around twice that time. Needless to say, having had a lot of experience as a patient, I do not recommend this place. read more

The only reason I have kept going back is because its in walking distance from my place and I have been too lazy to find another dentist, but no more. Pros: Dr. Pat is a pretty nice guy, seems honest enough, and is fairly gentle when working on you. Cons: Where do I start... Front desk/Office help is downright TERRIBLE. One time I called and scheduled an appointment for 1:00PM for the doctor to take a look at a filling he recently put in that was causing me some pain and discomfort. After hanging up the phone I entered the info into my calendar and didnt think twice about it. The day before my appointment they called my girlfriend (I am on her insurance) to confirm my appointment. Simple mistake, not a big deal, but they told her that my appointment was for 12:30PM. My girlfriend knew I had a dentists appointment but didnt know what time so she assumed it was at 12:30PM and confirmed the appointment for me. The next day I get to the office promptly at 1:00PM and the waiting room is packed. Odd, I think to myself. There is only one dentist and a grip of people, it looks like someone is going to have to wait. Turns out that someone is me. I check in at the front desk and the girl tells me that they dont have me on the schedule. I tell her that maybe there was a mistake because when they called my girlfriend to confirm they confirmed an incorrect time. She checks the 12:30 spot and says nope, nothing at 12:30 either. She then checks the schedule for later in the day and says that I made a mistake and my appointment is for 3:30PM not 1:00PM as if I am the idiot. I call my girlfriend to make sure they didnt tell her 3:30 and she confirms that the time they mentioned was 12:30. I double check my Outlook to make sure I didnt misread it, and I did write down 1:00PM. Had my tooth not been killing me from the piss poor filling job they had previously done, I would have walked out and left right there but I needed to get it taken care of. THREE HOURS LATER I was finally in the chair, pissed as hell. The Dr. tries to tell me that pain/sensitivity is a common issue when getting white fillings rather than silver fillings. He failed to mention that to me when he originally sold me on getting white fillings (even though silver fillings are free with my insurance). I could go on and on but theres no reason to. This place is an absolute joke. Piss poor customer service. No reason to ever patronize a place like this ever again. read more

I hope somebody at yelp can rectify this since they really aren't reflective of the outstanding dental services that she provides. The previous dentists that owned this office were shady but it is now owned by a new dentist who is really passionate about her work. She is a perfectionist and explains All treatment alternatives; not just the expensive options. I was seen right on my appointment and though i am a complete wuss when it comes to keeping my appointment, I surprisingly had a very comfortable visit to remove 3 of my wisdom teeth. Out of fear I put off seeing a dentist for 6 years, i will not put off visits again. Thanks Dr. B! read more

I recently went to this Dentist office because I was referred by a friend that has been going there for 3yrs or so. She said this was the best dentist she has been too. I had to check it out for myself. I was seen right away like they were waiting only for me. The classical music was a nice touch. The rooms were on the small side but I wasn't there to for the decor or set up. I was looking for a good dentist I could trust. I meet Dr. Bagherpour, she was sweet and soft spoken and proceeded to give me the condition of my teeth. She was concise and seemed to really care too. She gave me a cleaning. I have never had my teeth feel so clean. I was happy with her assistant too just as friendly. I will be going back again. read more
