You have found your surgeon, staff and hospital! Now for details. I was given Dr. Bagnato's name from a friend. A referral was made through my PCP and consult visit was set up. With my insurance, I had prerequisites that had to be fulfilled prior to surgery. The staff made sure I understood what they were, gave me handout information and made referrals to in-network physicians. After six long months, I was able to make the call to schedule surgery and schedule pre-op. The staff has been so unbelievably polite and friendly. Not once have I had the vibe of "I hate my job." They have always been smiling, caring, approachable and accommodating and this has not gone unnoticed. Pre-operative education class were beneficial. Office is comfortable, open and clean. The office alone has a five star rating. Lastly, Dr. Bagnato's bedside manner is wonderful. He is a busy doctor but once he is in an exam room, he is focused on individual patient needs. If you get nervous in doctor's offices, make a list of questions. He is very open to questions and doesn't make you feel rushed. I cannot speak highly enough about my experiences in the past year.

From the initial consult, I felt very free to ask questions and knew they would be answered. The staff was great to work with also. They were super friendly and always there to listen when I needed to talk or ask questions. I would definitely recommend Dr. Bagnato's Office to anyone contemplating weight loss surgery.

These wonderful people literally saved my life. After struggling through a mysterious condition…read morethat was misdiagnosed and incorrectly treated for about 8 years, I sought out a second opinion knowing there had to be a better way as my prior therapy was worse than the condition itself. After several weeks of research and contacting the Association that represents my condition, I landed upon the name of Dr. Thomas Claiborne, Jr. He was written up as one of the best doctors in the US for my specific condition and after a phone call to their practice I had an appointment for the next day to see him. That was 6 years ago and set me on a path to better health. Dr. Claiborne opened with a series of questions and really listened. For almost 15 minutes, he listened to the detailed account of my prior history, what was working, what wasn't, and everything I was taking. He really listened, and then he started asking questions. He is direct, attentive, and proactive. And to top it off, he ended our visit with "my goal it to get you healthy on as little medication as possible". Well that sealed it. A Doctor looking to help treat and heal, not prescribe. He is very thorough, seeks to understand the whole picture, and is absolutely transparent with courses of treatment. Of course, my story doesn't end there. After successfully reducing the amount of medication I was on and keeping my condition in remission for a couple years, the big one hit as does for many with this ailment. I ended up hospitalized in February 2011 and prescribed a bi-monthly course of biologic and chemical chemotherapy. That's when I met Karen Williams and the wonderful staff at the infusion center. They truly welcome you into the family, and a family it is because of how often we get to sit in those infusion chairs together. We share stories of family, pets, successes, and failures. There is no better way to go through treatment than with staff who genuinely care about you and your progression as a patient. Over the years, I've come to look forward to my visits. The staff have an impeccable beside manner and the billing department is extremely helpful with alternatives for secondary insurance to help cover the large medical bills. They literally changed my life for the better. While there is no cure for what ails me, they certainly make dealing with it a shared goal and manageable endeavor.

I was placed on Omezoprole and told I had to be on it for the rest of my life (I'm in my 30s). Given my age, I got a second opinion at Emory. The scopes at Emory were a lot more clear and brand new. The doctor at Emory was an award winning doctor and one of the best in the Southeast. He told me with 100% certainty, I do not have Barrett's. I was diagnosed with Gastritis, which is easily fixable and he instructed I taper off Omezaprole immediately and just take OTC acid reducer as needed. It's been almost a year since the second opinion and tapering off and I feel fine now. If I had only listened to the healthcare professionals at Digestive Healthcare of GA, it could have made my situation a lot worse long term and I could've stayed on a prescription I absolutely didn't need. Thankfully, I got a second opinion. I also paid my bill on time with Digestive HoG and they accidentally sent it to collections. I had to call them to take it off and even so, it still reflected negatively on my credit score and was a huge inconvenience to get it removed. They never apologized for the inconvenience or mistakes on their part. Not impressed by their billing department, their outdated scopes for procedures or their healthcare team that misdiagnosed me. If you decide to go here, consider a second opinion, which if you are diagnosed with anything serious; is never a bad idea anyway. The doctor and his team who did the procedure was nice, insightful and the procedure went well; it was the aftermath that was a mess.
