Finally stopped in after reading about this place! It's a grocery store and restaurant. Restaurant…read moreto the left with tables. The guy working was very helpful and took the time to explain the dishes to us in the Buffett. We opted for the Buffett today (only runs fri-sun) and while I would love to tell you everything we had, I'd be lying if I said I remembered all the names of the dishes. But trust me when I say the food was fresh, hot and lots of variety. Started off with some hummus, salad, pasta salad, and some other cold sides that I forget the name. The pasta salad was fine, but def okay to skip and stick to the other sides to which you won't be disappointed! The pita was also fresh and so good! Some of the stand outs for the main dishes I LOVED the mushroom beef dish and the chicken I got was so tender it was FALL OFF THE BONE! Also their spaghetti (reminded me more of a Mac and cheese) was so creamy and packed with flavor along with corn and mushrooms. Sounds wild, but trust me - so good! It was overwhelming trying to decide what to get next and making sure I didn't over do it too much so I could try everything! Again I know this isn't the best since I don't know all the names and I have no pictures (I ate too quickly and then realized after the fact and didn't think empty/dirty dishes would be appealing). Just trust me when I say the buffet is worth it. I then had the baklava for dessert and that was also good! We can't wait to come back and order from the menu. Looking to try gyro for sure next time! Also the grocery side is great and has a lot of items and candies to choose from. Definitely a place you'll visit and not leave empty handed or hungry!

Mostly it's because Yelp doesn't do halfsies or fractions, so I'm rounding up to four stars. The baba ganoush was amazing, though. I could literally eat Mediterranean and/or Middle Eastern food every day, and mostly it's because of baba ganoush and flatbread. That eggplant dip is one of my favorite foods in this world. Mama Saaj has some great baba ganoush and decent pita to go along with it. I also got a side of falafel, which came with a little container of tahini. The falafel were just OK. They were dry, which was a shame. Perhaps they were fried a touch too long. But I made baba ganoush tacos with my falafel by wrapping everything up in a pita triangle. With a little baba ganoush to hydrate them, the falafel were pretty decent. The service was good, but I had to ask for a plate, even though homie saw me fighting for my life with a napkin as my makeshift plate. It's all good though, because he seemed friendly. Mama Saaj is located inside Saraga, and it's one of the few restaraunts in the market. There are lots of tables at which to sit, or you can easily get your food to go.

I called ahead and ordered: 2 kebab sandwiches 2 falafel sandwiches 2 kibbeh orders baba ghanoush fattoush salad The employee on the phone told me the order would be ready in 20 minutes. When I arrived, I was told it would actually be another 17 minutes. I waited in my car, came back after that time passed, and then was told "maybe 13 more minutes." The biggest issue was not just the wait -- it was the lack of honesty and time management. If the restaurant had simply said from the beginning that they were behind and needed closer to an hour, I would have understood. What frustrates customers is being repeatedly given inaccurate wait times. People plan their schedules, families, and evenings around the times restaurants provide. After waiting inside, sitting directly in front of the counter, I watched the cook START preparing parts of my order almost an hour after I originally placed it. Items like the baba ghanoush, salad, and kibbeh -- foods that are usually already prepared -- were only assembled then. Meanwhile, customers who arrived after me and ordered at the restaurant were served before my takeout order was completed. Unfortunately, the food quality also suffered from the long delay: The sandwiches were soggy The salad had water pooled at the bottom and no dressing The kibbeh was soaked in grease For the amount paid, I expected much better service, communication, and food quality. A simple apology and realistic timing would have made a huge difference.

I ordered the gyro pita and made it a combo with the fries. The gyro came loaded with flavorful, well-seasoned meat--no filler, no shortcuts. At first, I was a little thrown off that the tzatziki is treated as a topping instead of a sauce, but honestly... it was still absolutely worth it. The toppings were very generous! But the real surprise of the meal? The fries! Hot. Crisp. Fresh. Perfectly seasoned. The queen at the register recommended I try the Reem sauce for dipping and confidently said it was great--she wasn't lying. Pro tip: get the Reem sauce. These low-key might be my favorite fries right now. The Arabic music playing overhead keeps the vibes, immaculate and my Duolingo Arabic streak strong! Great spot. Solid flavors. Get you some!

My entree stated right on the menu it came with a tahini sauce but was plated with a side of tzatziki sauce. Tzatziki is okay, but I ordered the kabobs literally to get the tahini. They are super dry and overcooked. I definitely needed sauce. Shouldn't be a problem, right? I go up to the cashier and ask for tahini. The teen-ager working looks at me like I'm crazy, and says that'll be extra. I say, no, it comes with it. She says I already got a sauce. I say yes, the wrong one. The menu says tahini but I got tzatziki. She argues again. I'm like "Why is this hard?" And I point to the menu across the top of the order area. She can't see it from where she stands behind the counter but exasperatedly says she will bring it to me. I was with two others, and neither of them like their food. One offered a wrap that came with fries, unbeknownst to her. The other hadn't jab Med food before, and said she won't have it again. Too bad! There are better places.
