I never went to a Shake Shack before so I realize this review is tainted by my review of the chain and not just a review of this particular fast food place. To begin, the burgers were delicious. We ordered and shared the Al Roker burger (a special on the menu for this week only) and it was delicious. It's a burger with pulled pork on top. I recommend it highly. I had their cheese burger and it was definitely a quality sandwich. Not the BEST burger I ever had but better then what you get in McDonald's. Speaking of McDonald's, THEIR fries are to die for so Shake Shack's, although good, were no match. I was VERY disappointed to find that the Shake Shack cheese fries were nothing more then their regular fries plus a plastic cup of melted cheese on the side. I regretted paying more for THESE cheese fries. I sampled their hot dog, admittedly being on a quest to find a dog better then a Nathan's. I did NOT find it here. What's worse, I found hot peppers in their hot dog that I wasn't expecting! Did I mention that I HATE food that makes my mouth burn? The custard and shakes were good but custard and shakes are usually good. I can't remember any time anywhere that I didn't like a custard or shake. You apparently are not served on a "first come, first serve" basis here since there were people who came in after us and got their orders before we did. With the army of kitchen staff they have, it's hard to understand why. The line was out the door but that's because, inside the store, they put the line right BY the door for some reason. It moved "relatively" quickly but just "relatively" for 9 people ahead of me. The woman who took my order had some difficulty understanding what I wanted. I was also disappointed that there was no form of cake (at least McDonald's has apple pie) but that's the chain and not this particular restaurant I guess. You can get a glass of wine or beer here, unlike McDonald's. So, in short, compared to a McDonald's, here the burgers were better. But there WAS a wait. I like the speed McDonalds fills my order, I LIKE McDonald's fries, McDonald's shake plus they have apple pie. Do I want to wait on a line for just the better burger? For me, personally, no. read more

Shake shack is definitely overhyped. I ordered two of their burgers with bacon, a large fries and milkshake. I paid 26$ for a burgers that were small and "okay". The order of fries was as if I had ordered a small and the shake was too thick to drink. I honestly wouldn't go back. If you want a GOOD burger and GREAT fries. Try 5 guys on central avenue. Their burgers are juicy with a lot of flavor. They are bigger than the shake shack burgers and their small fries is larger portions than the ones you order at shake shack. AND shake shack is such a small location. There aren't a lot of seats. You might have to take it to go! read more

Great burgers and fries. Just had the hot chicken sandwich with slaw today.... it was great.... juicy and spicy. Also tried the cross county crunch..... toooo sweet for my taste buds was only able to handle two spoonfuls but I'm sure it will appeal to those with a sweet tooth. For those of drinking age they sell beer, red, white and proseco wine which is a nice addition if your going for dinner. read more

I ve been to shake shack twice since it has opened in Yonkers. As always it is consistently good. Just not crazy about the people who work here. The first time I figured it might just be because of the recent opening but second time just common questions I couldn't get any answers. I placed an order with Ashley for two people and it took about 10 minutes. Between another coworker distracting her and then her turning around mid order to help someone picking up food. Just beyond frustrating. I love shake shack and was so happy one opened closer to me but I'll stick to going into the city locations. read more

Sad to say it but my bf and I had a terrible experience here. We love Shake Shack. When I say love, I mean we are chanting Shake Shack's name as we're driving to it. We usually have a very good dining experience. Is it a long wait? Yes, usually. But we don't care about the lines bc we love it. Well that's changed. We went yesterday evening, ordered our food, got buzzers, sat down. 10 minutes pass...20 minutes pass...okay finally my bf gets his food first (even though I ordered before him) & we're like ok ok my food will be here any moment so he goes and waits for my food at the pickup station. No kidding another 15 minutes pass and nothing. At this point I tell him to sit down and eat bc his food is getting cold. He's told me he asked a few times about the order and the girl looked like she checked but never answered him. Okay weird. He goes to sit down & I ask her about my order. At this point it's been 35 mins since I ordered. She hears me but doesn't say anything. At this point she doesn't listen until I raise my voice and tell her I've been waiting for almost 40 mins now. She tells some lady who I later find out is the manager and she takes care of it. 10 minutes (!!!) later she finally has my order out. No apologies, nothing. It was clear they had messed up a few other orders so there was a confusion. By this point my bf is standing with me again. He took one bite of his food and it was cold so I asked the manager for a new meal for my bf bc we were waiting so long for mine. This woman then gets rude with me, telling me "as you can see there was a confusion", and then starts to pick a fight with my bf, who was waiting patiently and calmly for 20 MINUTES at pickup station. Me and her are going back and forth, which wasn't even necessary bc she was going to give us new food anyway but felt inclined to make it into this huge thing for whatever reason. She was SO RUDE to us. At one point she points her finger at me and then pokes my arm with it. As a manager, as an employee, why are you touching me? She tries to ask me for my boyfriend's order bc she's gonna bring out new food. At this point my bf is so turned off by her treatment of us that he declines the new food. How are you going to get mad at us when we were waiting patiently? For 40 minutes? And we weren't even mad about the confusion--mistakes happen. We were upset at how poorly the MANAGER treated us, and the complete lack of communication. We waited for 40 minutes. No apology, no explanation. All we asked was where my order was and for new food for my man and we're met with complete rudeness. We were more upset than mad bc we like going here. I ate my food bc I was hungry and it wasn't great. The burger was put together sloppily and the Pie oh My concrete pie bits in the ice cream tasted stale. Plus my bf didn't even eat and the whole dining-in experience is about enjoying the food together. We left early bc the manager was chatting it up with someone who looked like her friend the table over and we were so upset about her treatment of us so we left early, didn't finish my meal.This food is not cheap. Together we spent around $30. Extremely disappointed in this experience and sad bc it's the only shake shack close by and we can't go anymore. To the manager: maybe get some training on how to deal with stress and maybe understand that being rude to patient customers for YOUR mistake is not very smart :/ Extrenely disappointed. P.S. my bf asked to be compensated or vouched for his order, and the manager refused. He told her numerous times he didn't want the food but she still brought it out. I told her he didn't want it and she gave it to a different customer. So my boyfriend paid $15 for no food and couldn't get compensated for it. So so disappointed. read more

Just absolutely terrible. Went there with my family and ordered a couple burgers, and some chicken bites. It probably took about 25 minutes for them to prepare just the food. Once we got it we were missing a Dr. Pepper, Iced Tea and a order of Chicken Bites. Once my family and I got back to the car, it turns out the so called Dr. Pepper is actually a Diet Coke. The burgers were not even that good- they just didn't taste that good. The chicken was pretty good but that was all. I highly recommend you avoid that place- Five Guys is many, many times better. I worked next to one on the upper eastside for a few years and hated that I could not easily access it at nights or on weekends, but now that they made their way into Westchester it's on! Waited over 45 minutes for my food as all other guests were getting served. when i asked for the manager he was rudely asked me how he can make me happy and refused to acknowledge that they made a mistake and did not apologize. So this restaurant is what I call "hype beast". Theres too much hype for this restaurant. The burgers were really good. I ordered the SmokeShack burger with an order of plain fries. The burger was small for its price. It was juicy, and spicy becyase of the sauce they put on it. The fries hold up pretty well after sitting out for a few hours. However, I've had burgers that were much better in size and taste. The fries were good but not spectacular. read more

Not impressed. I've heard about Shake Shack for years so I was anxious to try it but seriously, I've had better food at local establishments. First of all, this is the noisiest place I've been to lately. The long line and then the noise encountered walking into the place is outrageous. I can't even imagine trying to sit down and enjoy a meal with all the noise. There's nothing to absorb the sound. I had the "shroom burger and it was puny. Probably the smallest portabello mushroom I've ever had. It was deep fried with cheese in the middle. The cheese was salty and garlicky. I squished it out. You couldn't taste the mushroom. The bun was bigger than the mushroom. There were 2 puny tomatoes on top that were barely pink. This is August and the only tomatoes were barely ripe??? Get real. The coating slid off the mushroom and I was actually glad. My daughter had a cheeseburger minus the Shake sauce. She ate only half but finished her milkshake. The fries were really salty and the order we shared, we didnt' finish tossed out the remainder. I don't have to ever visit here again. Not worth the five minute drive from my home. Good Evening, let me start by saying this franchise Shack Shack has poor customer service skills, it's the worst places to dine-in or out in Cross County, the day and time 5/27 at 9:27 pm, how is it that they where fully staffed and the place wasn't packed with patrons, & they where very behind on servicing their takeout orders. When I ordered my food to go I was given the timer for when your order is ready but unfortunately I had to wait another 20 minutes, and I was given an ATTITUDE when I approached the counter for my order, you must fix that form of operation you have going on, this place needs management with authority and about their business, not someone relaxed with an I don't care attitude. The service SUCKS, at this location fix it by giving an in service on proper customer service skills, with a smile, always remember someone else is on-line waiting for your position, 2 thumbs down for this location adjust the attitudes or hire new staff including management. read more

I had the portobello burger and was surprisingly satisfied. I thought I would be hungry after, or disappointed from lack of flavor but it was just right. Fried and seasoned to perfection with the right amount of melted cheese. The black and white shake was pretty good. I can't describe the flavor but it did have a hint of chocolate and a hint go vanilla. Very subtle. I had a bite of the hamburger and it was alright. I think it receives a lot of attention only because it's glamorized take out. I like 5 guys better to be honest but maybe it's because it feels like 5 guys isn't trying too hard. Good parking location - BUT the customer service is horrible! A young staff ( which should be a great thing to give an upbeat vibe - but NO , not here ) went in yesterday. Young lady who took my order was friendly. But it went down hill after that. Waited maybe 25-30 mins for my order. Meanwhile. I'm watching them pile up all these fries (that would eventually lose its heat ) some where talking over the food - I witnessed the female rep who hands the food out belittle and handle customers prior to me so coldly and harsh. And she was no different when she got to me. Especially because I asked could I receive hot fries. AFTER TASTING ONE TO MAKE SURE I WOULD ENJOY THEM. She grabbed my fries threw the aggressively in the trash rolled her eyes and says " I don't have time for this today " She continues to assist everyone else. While slamming there waiting device in the box directly in front of me. I quess to send me some sort of message. Finally I walked away went to another person and asked for the remainder of my order. Shake Shack will never disappoint. Food is always tasting amazing, and let me tell you the shack is spectacular. Waiting in line for 20 minutes is always worth it, but make sure not to go their to hungry or else you may just want to jump behind the counter and gobble everything up. read more

He is a great example of what a manager should be like because he was acting more like a team member assisting his fellow workers than an actual boss !! Ive had shake shack before and love it so much. I usually go to the one in the city 23rd street but that is kind of out of the way for me. I drove up to cross county mall I got there right in time only one person ahead of me. by time I turnt around the line was quickly out the door. they open another Register and things begin to move Expeditiously. cashiers friendly in their own way ‍even tho she had a problem with understanding I wanted the truffle cookie on the side of my custard. She asked what truffle cookie I'm like the one that's in the description on the menu she said she didn't know what I was talking about and instead said you must mean cookie dough I'm like ok w.e it was my 1st time trying it and maybe I didn't know what I was talking about I did not like the cookie dough bites so glad I requested them on the side yuck thick and disgusting. The chicken bites also a first for me and also a no for me thought it would be white meat but I clearly had dark meat in a few of the pieces I asked for honey mustard sauce got Bbq not a big deal being that I don't know how the honey mustard taste anyway but the bbq sauce also a yuck burgers blah but the fries were probably the worst fries I've ever had from here very very under cooked tasting you could taste the rawness and that freezer taste like a bag of frozen supermarket fries I know they are most likely frozen anyway read more

I am so happy they opened a location in Westchester. My family and I have been there several times since they opened and it has been a hit every single time. After hearing all the hype of Shake Shack and finding out that one opened up that I could go to, we gave the place 2 tries. The first time, the line was very long and moved very slowly. We both ordered the mushroom burger and shared a fries. The food was very hot and the burger had a lot of cheese. We enjoyed it. The second time, we were reminded this was a fast food place complete with fast food employees. There was no line and we wondered what happened. We ordered the same thing 2 mushroom burgers and a fries. The mushroom burgers were cold on the inside and there was hardly any cheese. The pagers were not working so the employees had to call out names but you could hardly hear it because of the music. Why did they keep the volume so loud if they have to call out names? This place is just like every other fast food place. The inconsistencies will make some days nice and some days you wish you avoided the place. read more

I ordered a rare burger. It was an overcooked hockey puck. I could have done better at most bars, and had a Guinness to boot. Overhyped!

Cashier was polite and courteous. Service was mediocre, ordered a lemonade and was given a seltzer, altered my appetite. Ordered a smokehouse, patty was burnt, I like well done but it was crispy.
