A friend highly recommended this burger brand. I went there once when the Shenzhen MixC World branch first opened. The American version is indeed tastier, but the price-performance ratio is still just average. The Big Shack: The signature item. I don't know if it's just my imagination, but it seemed to be a bit bigger than the ones in China. The beef patty was freshly fried, but compared to that in Tasty and Five Guys, it seemed to be leaner. Plus, there was a bun in the middle, so while it had the grilled smoky aroma, it was less juicy. The core, most soul-stirring aroma of fat in the burger patty was still missing. In fact, it lacked that simple satisfaction of eating big bites of meat with your mouth full-of-juice goodness. I stopped by here when I was in the Harvard area. I love how they always seem to have deals on Ubereats that prompts me to try something new. Quick service! I was here on a Friday night and the line was long, but the food was served fast, so I didn't have to wait for long. It is your typical Shake Shack, so not much else to expect here. They do have plenty of tables upstairs, which is always a nice plus for the Harvard Square area. It is expensive, but it is so hard not to splurge on its delicious shake! I ordered from here both times through third party apps and each time I've been disappointed by their care for the product. The first time i ordered a bacon avocado burger fries and a banana pudding shake since it was new and I was exited to try it. When it came around for me to get my smoothie it was empty with the innards of the smoothie as a layer of milk in my bag. I didn't take it too much to heart because I had assumed it was at fault of the delivery driver and everything else was fine, covered in banana pudding or not. Second time around Im convinced lighting doesn't strike twice but it did. This time there was completely no shake. For reference I had a 22~ dollar order turned 40 dollar order after the ridiculous 9 dollar tax and other fees. Not only was the shake completely gone the two burgers I got (smoke shack) were completely bland only being saved by the spice. The bacon on the burger didn't even looked cooked. It was as if they grabbed precooked bacon and slapped it in my burger. I will say I ordered pretty late but any worker knows that the effort you put into the first meal should be the same you put into the last meal you make. And there was none. I was in Harvard Square and stopped by for a burger. I'd say the quality of a ShackBurger is very similar to the ones at In n Out, with a similar smashed patty consistency. It's definitely a step above McDonald's/Wendy's, but I don't think it's quite at the level of Five Guys. The patty is also pretty thin, so I wouldn't say I was especially full after just a burger. My prayers have been answered! I just happened to randomly go on Shake Shack's website and saw that the Shackmeister burger is back!!.... till mid-March. I wish they would just keep this burger forever ORRRRR they could have the cripsy shallots all year round on their menu as a side. This is the one thing that's keep Wahlburgers ahead of Shake Shack in my books. I love onion rings and I'd order crispy shallots on the side every single time. So 2 of us came here on a Sunday. We tried to order our meals on the tablets but realised the Extras to customise your burger is limited to the basic stuff. For example If you wanted to added a Shroom burger to your Meat burger or Cherry Peppers to your burger it isn't listed as an extra. Just like how the bacon costs an additional $, just do the same for the shroom and the cherry peppers to be added to any other burger. Or let's say you order a Shroom Burger, there isn't an option to add the crispy shallots to it. SO we made our way over to a human and made our custom order at the cashier. We both ordered the Shackmeister burger - one with Cherry peppers and the other was a double patty with cherry peppers, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. With 2 fries and a black and white milkshake. The restaurant was full but we were able to find a seat upstairs. Our order was processed within a reasonably good time. I took my photos and noticed the the double patty didn't have the shallots in them. Which was the main essence of the burger ordered. So we we had to go back to the counter to get that added. This gentleman was walking around the table, cleaning. The body odor was terrible. You have to show up to work without showering for long to smell like this. wish i could give 10 stars. first time at this location and i ordered on the tablets (along with 6 OTHER people putting orders in) and only waited exactly 7 minutes for my food (two burgers two fries 2 shakes) And everyone picking up mobile orders and walk-in orders were handled in a EXTREMELY time-responsive manner. the person manning the pickup window/counter was checking everyones name on their order and receipt. making sure the right items were inside their bags. the kitchen staff had absolutely no orders to make and they chatted for roughly 30 seconds before cleaning their stations and prepping for future orders. Pleasantly surprised by my experience at Cambridge Shake Shack. I've been to SS in Baltimore, DC, and New York and have always thought it was a rather overhyped, underwhelming experience given the long wait times, small portions, and haphazard cold fries. The Cambridge SS was busy at 1pm, but there was just enough turnover that there was easily a table available. The windows on the second floor bring in a good amount of light. The food was ready reasonably quickly, and everything was warm - the burger was not overly well-seasoned/sauced and perfectly juicy, and the crinkle fries were crispy. i stopped by shake shack for dinner on a monday evening around 8:30 and it wasn't busy at all! i placed an order for pick up and it was prepared on time. the staff helped me find my order fairly quickly, and there were no issues with it. the restaurant and the bathroom were really clean. i usually order the cheesy fries with the cheese on the side, and the single shack burger. i've also heard that the shroom burger is pretty good - i'll have to try it next time! parking can be hard at times, especially during the weekends, but the red line is pretty close to the restaurant. overall rating: 10/10 read more
