I love Dave's hot chicken at other places. This one gave me a cold chicken sandwich which seems to have been made many hours ago. I still have to wait 20 minutes for this cold sandwich at around 11:30pm. When I go to other Dave's places, I feel welcomed and the whole place is clean. The chicken is pretty good but the service is awful. Sullen workers that look at you as if you were just another inconvenience and orders that take 15-20 minutes each. I see two front on house guys just scrolling on their phones while 7 people wait for orders. I appreciate that the food is freshly made to order but Canes down the block can get you on your way in half the time, and Chick-fil-A a few miles away has the food in your hand in mere seconds, and just as fresh. Went to Daves in Medford again...been watching too many Instagram reels of Chile's and Dave's cheese pulls. It was another let down specifically at this location. The kiosk that I ordered from is suppppper slow. Spinning wheel the whole time. This is the price you pay to avoid interaction with the staff. The chicken was again just slightly warm in our sandwiches. Framingham and Newton chicken is hot in temperature. And again, the spices must be different at this location compared to others. The spicy level is so subdued here when ordering the same levels. The cheese sticks were hot at least, but only 1/3 of them had decent cheese inside. The other 2 not only has no cheese pull, but you bite the corner first and look inside and it looks pretty hollow. The french fries were great, though. Pickles were good, too. Keep in mind Canes Chiken and Wingstop is in the same plaza here. The chicken game needs to be on point. read more

This Dave's is in a very convenient location right off of Wellington Circle in Medford. Swinging off the parkway right into Dave's parking lot, which has ample spaces available is extremely easy. They have a ramp/stairs to get up into the restaurant, a tad strange but it kind of ties in with the whole decor. Once inside it looks like graffiti but well thought out and well placed names, pics etc. Anyway, there's not a lot on the menu but what they do have they make great? I usually opt for the 10 piece nuggets with the fries are usually go medium on the spice which is a perfect blend of seasoning and heat. The fries also spiced. The tenders this time seemed a little bit on the smaller side, but they were seasoned perfectly. The heat was definitely medium, and they were very juicy. Dave's serve the tenders on a piece of white bread I guess to absorb the heat because there doesn't seem to be any grease on these tenders and nuggets. I've also tried the lemonade, which is very good. The girls behind the counter the three or four times I've been in so far have been extremely polite and well mannered. The inside of the restaurant looks clean. A bonus is they have little packets of honey for the chicken, which I find to be the perfect touch. if you're passing by Dave's pop in, give it a try I think you'll like it. read more

The scene: On my way to the Cape for our yearly vacation. I wanted a Chicken Parm., Bob's was closed. I saw this place and it was PACKED with people. I went in and got in line. I began to observe the people were all VERY angry. I would soon learn why. Order: Chicken Slider plate w/fries Time: 45 minutes Quality/quantity: I received a container stuffed with what appeared to be delicious food, little did I know... Aftereffects: FOOD POISONING!! The staff are more focused on laughing and chatting in the back than doing their jobs, while customers wait over 20 minutes for food that should take 10, max. I always order the same thing: two sliders with fries and an order of Dave's Bites. More than once, I was given the Reaper spice level instead of what I ordered--and both times, it sent me to the hospital. One of those times, a cook looked right at me, laughed, and then made my food. That order was wrong, and it felt deliberately tampered with. That's not just bad service--that's dangerous. This location used to be a Boston Market, and at this rate, it'll meet the same fate. No matter how popular the brand, bad staffing and disregard for customers will run it into the ground. Alright, where do I start. There's so many Hot Chicken joints popping up in MA recently and you'd just have to do a few trial and error runs to find the perfect joint. I am so happy that I tried Dave's because their chicken is juicy and milkshakes are fun (topped with crushed Oreos, m&ms, or Cinnamon Toast Crunch)! I saw a Dave's Slider Menu Hack and oh my god, it's good! Add some Mac and cheese or the whole thing, who's going to judge you, drizzle some honey and Dave's sauce on it. It may be because it's new and it was less busy, but the space was very clean, the chicken tasted crispier, and there is plenty of parking outside and seating inside. Easily the best Dave's Hot Chicken in the broader Boston area. I would definitely visit again and now prefer it to the Newton & Boston Commons location which have little to no parking or seating. Food was fine but the service was pretty bad. We ordered 1 chocolate and 1 vanilla shake, the employee put 2 chocolate shakes in the order screen. We corrected her and she ended up giving us 2 vanilla shakes. It tasted good, so I didn't bother asking for her to make the chocolate that I ordered. Then 20 minutes go by, we're the only ones waiting for an order - the employee who took our order is looking at us, not following up on anything. Then multiple people come in and start ordering. They get their orders before us. Finally we get the attention of a different employee and he looks up our order - the ticket was never printed. He rushes to go make our order which was appreciated because it came out pretty quickly. But then we get home and the order was wrong . Not sure if it was on him or the girl who took our order. Placing order was fast & easy. Nice clean place. Good location in Wellington circle In Medford. I got the hot, sandwiches we're called sliders kinda small with pickles & coleslaw on it. Hot was more spicy than most hot chicken sandwiches. But I might get very hot next time. I love the heat. No drink came with the meal, just fries at about$11.50. Really good place for hot chicken. It's always moist and the pieces they give are quite large. Usually i'll do the tender and slider combo and it's enough for two meals. I've had the mild which is not spicy at all so if you want a little kick I recommend medium. Fries are just the right amount of crispy and not floppy. I like the mac and cheese too but it's a bit small. It's always pretty quick but it does get busy around dinner time, so order ahead if you can. Ask for a side of Dave's sauce as you're leaving and the staff are happy to give you some extra! read more

Terrible services I had to wait for my launch 30 minutes for chicken bites and fries meal so damn wasted my launch time

Food is always delicious! But even for a new location, service is insanely slow. The staff physically move slow and don't communicate with each other. They prioritize delivery apps over in house customers. 3rd experience, each time has been a 30 minute + wait for only 2 meals- tried at 4pm, 6pm, and 9:30 pm- every time it's the same. Prob would be faster to drive to the Methuen Dave's!! Management is nowhere to be found and obviously haven't done a good job training their new staff. Sucks for everyone. Staff look sad :( 2 stars for food always being great and consistent, otherwise would be 1 star. Praying for the canes down the block to open read more
